slanshroom - just a joke. I really don't care. I read his crazy posts from time to time.
Ok, here's a better idea - you can check in your profile whether you want to see Wolf's posts or not :-) Actually, an "ignore user" feature might not be a bad idea...
BTW, anybody order the new Dream Theater book - Lifting Shadows?
DreamTheaterBook.com
It's expensive, but I broke down and bought it yesterday.

Good Morning Satchland....... How's is everyone?
We're going to Florida tomorrow till Columbus Day to celebrate my in- laws 50th. It's going to be great and looking forward to it. Our boys are going also and with Sean moving out 10 months ago it's gonna be great being with him as with Aaron. Yippie ! ! ! !
wolf2.......A movie cowboy? Wolf Wayne has a nice ring to it. What do you guys think?
Jim Smyth is the songwriter I've been recording for the last 11/2 yrs. Well the CD is completed and we're putting the post produtcion package togather for DiscMakers. Should have the CD by the end of the month. Sean is going to building a web site for the CD. I'll keep you posted. Would love some feedback on everything when we're up and runnin'
Happy Birthday ZZ. Have a great day. It's on me....lol.....(thanks michelle....... hugs)
Joe...... How ya been? Been a little quiet lately. Hope all is well. We really enjoyed the SWTA show in Chicago. Take care and give us some Blue.
BTW..... I saw the new contest on the home page. Trouble is ........everything Joe's giving away I have already. So what's a fan going to do?
I entered the contest anyway. Everyone can use more Joe. Don't you agree????
Speaking of which.........I need a cup right now.....lol.....
Have A Great Day Everyone?

Hi Joe
I am trying to get in touch with a number of musicians on matters of music theory. I have written a book tentatively scheduled for release on Mel Bay for late fall/early spring on the subject of Alternate Tunings for the guitar.
As an example of my work I would like to send you a list I prepared of every possible heptatonic (7 note) scale sorted into groups of modes. (In the key of C there are 462, or 66 modal groups: if every key is included, there are a total of 5,544)
I wanted to speak with you ever since I saw the description for the tuning used in the song "The Enigmatic". I have another book which I am preparing in PDF format which is a system for breaking down any alternate tuning into a playable form quickly. I will gladly give you more details if you are willing to speak or email me. The music theory topics I wanted to ask you about are the roles of the steps in a scale as well as the desirability of a database of chord types to scale to tuning associations.
Hoping you will get back to me,
Mark Greyland

dream3 - cool. Yeah, I missed my name being in there by a good month or so :-)
There should be a similar book on Joe. I'd pay $300 for it... Even a book on instrumental guitarists would be awesome, with a chapter on Joe (kind of like the "Bang Your Head" book for 80's and 90's heavy metal with chapters on GNR, Metallica, etc.).

Gruskada - Totally agree if joe were to release a book of this kind would be awesome could have chapters on all his now famous students and fill it with artwork and lessons and maybe even some rare recordings of Satch and ZZ jamming it out would be a killer edition to any guitar fans library and i to would pay $300 for it but in saying that by the time i convert that to aussie dollars cost more like $400-$450 but worth every cent.....
Well satch now that the idea is out there how about releasing a book so all your fans home and abroad can have that added piece of satch in their own homes......

AussieRGMan - I've been having problems with my effects/amp set up for a while but after a few tips from this site and a few others I think I've got it sorted.
It kinda goes like this: Guitar - Wah - Amp Input (clean channel)
Boss pedal board with Tuner/Loop Pedal/Chorus/Delay into the back of the amp FX Loop (I plugged it in the wrong way around first time and got loads of feedback!) and then back to the board.
I get a better sound from the wah wah this way and use the amps distortion (Marshall Valvestate 100w combi).
The only snag is cabling it all up on small stages!!
Hope this helps.
