Just spent the day with my son...had a great time....he's settled in so well, and really doing well playing with the band. Talked to the band leader who is absolutely thrilled that Chris came into his musical life as his lead guitarist...

bluk.....I feel ill again...but yesterday was amazing...

got another Paul Gilbert double album for a start...oh oh and found a massive silver surfer!

http://good-times.webshots.com/photo/2229641620084221824yGJbLH

Not a good picture I know...will go back and get another one next week or the week after.

The Lord of the rings on stage was amazing...I think it probably helped to know the story by other means because obviously the show was only 3 hours but they got the main points and the stage was totally amazing and singing was incredible...and the effects were awesome! Truly...best stage show I have been too. I swear gollum was not a real man...he was...wow like spiderman for a start the way he climbed down the roots and the way he moved, well peopole just dont get in those positions (ok no rude sniggers here)...oh he did a fantastic within gollum fight too amazing. Oh my word we were so high we were actually level with the big lights on the ceiling 104 steps up....which I think in some ways was good having a birds eye view...

OK this is not a good picture...but you can just about make out the actors on the stage...but it gives an idea of how high we were

http://good-times.webshots.com/photo/2855941860084221824lFheov

oh my word the stage at that place is incredible....so many pieces that go up and down and how they didn't trip up...i mean they were moving all the time....but it didn't stop any of the action...it was great especially during the battles....Oh some of the orcs were wearing those legs things and were bouncing around and at lothlorien in the trees they were all hanging in the air....but Oh my word Shelob the massive spider...oh and the black riders...Oh OH and when Gandalf fights in the caves the effects on that were amazing...with the smoke and lighting....I swear ...oh this is earlier when they were depicting autumn these were projected 3d leaves...and your brain just could not tell that they were not real...incredible....course sometimes they had real stuff falling from the sky...oh oh and a couple of the orcs crept around in the aisles and were scaring the begingers out of people.

Aww it did make me cry when sam and frodo had to part at the end....I hate it when friends part....had to do that myself many times so it really gets to me.

anyway here is a link to see bits of it...

http://www.lotr.com/showfootage.php

Awww i am sorry this is not a great review....but I will do a more coherant one....later

Lucy - I hope so!

hugs Satriella xx

Joe, my brother is a huge fan of yours. He just found out that he has a tumor on his kidney...Doctors don't know yet and I am not going to say it is cancer....He loves your music and his name is Jeff. He lives in Michigan and I am living here on the small island of Guam. I am a music, science, and math teacher at a private middle high school. I teach guitar as an elective. Give him a get well message here to make him feel better. We are all sad but we know that God is in control. Thanks Joe and you are the best.

Hey Joe, Let me begin by saying I am one of your biggest fans. I never miss a show, & I see to it that my close friends dont either. Last Friday night we saw CHRIS DUARTE play in Palm Beach Florida. I have been folowing this guy for the past 12 years or so. Although he has been playing very small venues, I believe him to be one of the top guitarists in the world, especially as of late. He seems to have recently gotten his shit together big time. He has a new band that he brought from Japan. I have to say I was completely blown away. They were as tight as it gets. I felt compelled to write you to suggest that you consider him for a G3 tour. Im sure he wont disappoint. His live act smokes. Also I think he could use a leg up because he is still an unknown to many that would dig the hell out of his music. I told Chris that I was going to email you about his show, He said "Joe knows me", I replied "if he doesnt he should". Hope this message gets to you, and I hope to see Chris on the G3 in the near future.

Thanks, Jeff

PS: I forgive you for the Ingwie Malmstein thing, I know it wasnt your fault.

hi, i am back after a long hiatus. i had some real rough time last year where every aspect of my life collapsed in a heap of rubble and i had an owen wilson moment. There were a lot of people on this forum who tried to help me, notabaly satriella and stephanie ,however me being an arse at the time i avoided everyone ,including close friends and family. So i am sorry for that and i am grateful that you guys took time to care for a fellow satriani fan.

Well on a positive note, i am more content with my life now and learned a lot of things on the way. I learnt that theres always a bright side of things, no matter how rough the ride.

On a more positive note one of my friend's colleuge has been shortlisted for world's top 10 Guitar Heroes. Its a competition where guitarist audition from north america, australia and europe and perform in front of judges and audience. This is the second time he has made it to top 10. The final is in great american music hall, san francisco on october 12 and one of the judge is no other than joe satriani himself!!!!

You can check him out at www.juancoronado.com.

I like his music, what do u guys think?
