Hmm... I don't remember wolf2 from when I used to hang around here, but seriously how could I forget, right? Have all 3408 of his posts been this "interesting" or is this a new recent development? I guess what I'm asking is, has he always been this way? Does he get banned periodically? (honestly some of those stream-of-consciousness rants get a little racy!) Just curious. It's the train-wreck I can't look away from, I don't know why but I have to read every damned one of those things... I sure as hell hope that the novelty wears off fast, cuz interesting as they seem I still always feel ripped-off for time after I've finished reading one.

Can anyone else identify with my experience?

smooches,

slan - LE.. is that logic express?? I don't have that.. I have logic pro 8.. I've not encountered any agro yet... but then I'm not exactly working it hard yet... just sequencing so far...
building for the bottom up... lol...
from my experience with cubase though, I would say that cubase is a touch more intuitive. but then maybe that's cos I'm more used to it..
I've not tried recording yet... so I've not encountered this latency thing..
sounds worrying..

I saw you comment "i sound like a wafflin baffoon in comparison,"... lol..
dude... that's only when you try to explain your own playing style.... because your style is so out there is can't be explained... lol... when I listen to your CD I get this lil' voice in my head that says "hahaaa Clarky... welcome to the freak show... ain't so quick now are ya..."... lol...

Matt - here's a nice trick with the modes.... get the student to work out the modes with E as the tonic.... then play them whilst playing a drone on the 6th string... this gives the ears a nice point of reference... the tonality then really stands out...

jeez dude... last time we spoke was about an eon ago and you had carpel grief back then.... don't you think you should get it sorted??? or are you worried that you'll never be the same player again...
last year I broke one of my fingers on my fretting hand - I thought it was all over... I was totally destroyed when I saw the x-rays... 3 months later I cut The Feast of Buzzards - which many folks think is the best thing I've ever recorded... I never gave in, and I was determined to bounce back, bigger and badder...
I got the badder bit right... lol...

I have a band now - Curse of the 9th and we're mostly playing tracks from my album - Shredz at an Exhibition
we are though working on newer m ore band centric material - so I'll continue my instrumental stuff as a project in parallel with the band....

is CoE still doing stuff????

keniko - cool stuff bro... if you have questions about the tutorials post them up on my own forum - that way all the folks in my place can see the answers - especially if it means me making corrections cos I keep getitng the math wrong... lol.
if I had a sig pedal it would only have 2 settings...
- way too loud and off.. lol..

Hi Joe. Just wanted to say thanks.
http://www.surfingwiththealien.com
Hope to see you in Chicago in a couple of weeks. Hey, just had a great idea - You are going to be less than a mile from where Blue Man Group performs. How about stopping in for a quick jam with them. Now I can see that. Joe Satriani and Blue Man Group! If that don't get the Grammy, I don't know what will.

deathcube and maritime...yes...I can see how you would both understand what I'm saying. Everything that happens to us in life...shapes who we are and changes us. Can't escape it. Life-changing is right....changes the spirit too. The world changes colors...not as vivid anymore, somehow grayer. Well, it's not the world that changes, but how my eyes see things now.

Austin....I thank you for taking the time and trouble to both look back to see what's been happening with me...and to post your suggestion about Neil Peart. I will look his book up for sure and read it. It means a lot that you cared enough to do that...hugs...and maybe we'll see you in San Fran or Reno :) I hope you've recovered from whatever happened in 2005.

Congratulations on your win JSTony...that's cool! Decorate the baby's room in Satch stuff, you won't go wrong!

im sorry...but cheese sammich > all. even. BEER. you're mine toots.

and clarky ~~~~ yah man i take a similar spot. I find it very easy for them to associate better with aeolian though faster than ionian. So i tend to start with that...they can just feel it more it seems.

and coe been dead a long time, ive been doing a LOOOOTTT of writing on my own in the past few months. weening out the trash, trying to find a masterpiece at some point. yeppp gonna be a long time before i toss one of them outta the ol' guitar lol

i've been listening to your stuff right along from time to time. yes thats rigth im stalking you. dont look at that window to your left. (if there really is a window to the left of your computer...WOWWW)

and about the carpal tunnel...im deathly afraid of surgery and the injections i hear for tendonitis work but...well yah im a pussy when it comes down to it. i just cope with the pain...have for a few years. it comes and goes at will...but hey if thats what it takes to play...im stickin it out til i absolutely cant take it anymore.

WE NEED SOME BLUE AROUND HERE. FAST QUESTION:

JOE DO YOU STILL HAVE YOUR PET SNAKES?? IF SO WHAT DO YOU FEED THEM??

that's bait guys...let's see if i can catch me a satriani fish.

Clarky--Thanks for the tip on intervals.

Somebody wanted to know which album is Joe's best. My favorite is Strange Beautiful Music. The solos seem less like solos and more like explorations into the meaning of the songs. It's organic like the '95 self-titled CD, but it is weird like EOC--kind of. It's intricate and layered like FIABD, but it is fresh spontaneous like The Extremist. It's just good.

hmmm well all it says at the moment is Major US Star playing at the guitar show...TBA 7th April....so I think I will wait to get my ticket....see who it is first.

MagicalTomatoHead - I will be at London and Bournemouth too, so do come and say hi and give me a hug...that bit is mandatory I am afraid....so if you are a Hugaphobic....stay away from me! LOL

Keniko - Glad things are going well, hope you find a suitable gig soon.

Civgeek - Good luck with your potential band...keep us updated.

Clarky - Have you lost your job....blimey charlie...dont see you for months then you write a ton of essays HAHA good to see it though....you were just filling in for me while i was gone weren't you. Hey....be it at Joe gig or LGS come find me and give me a hug!

Do the Stu - As Clarky.....good to see you back...not just back but back with a vengeance! You mentioned Rush....well Neil ... thats a real bad situation he was in. I recently got a Rush tribute CD with Mike Portnoy and Paul Gilbert...its great...but Mike was singing neils praises, totally mega replica drum kit he played...er and bought for himself in the end.

AmirK - thinking of you.....twas a terrible thing to happen.

Tracie - Please update me on your situation, I have been thinking of you, but I haven't had to much time to read the posts lately.

Joe Satrini - oooooooooo riiiiiight....yeah I get it now LOL I may be a cross between a goldfish and a tortoise but I get there in the end...er....with a little help from my friends hehe.

Maximagnet - Be patient, hang in there....a watched kettle never boils so they say....but in truth it does eventually!

MariMari - you are a lil angel....sorry i havent replied to email yet....will soon!

Hugs to All

Satriella xx

Clarky:Its Pro Tools LE by digidesign i bought with the 003 console, the latency prob is nothin that cant be worked around, just a pain in the arse really, i defused the atom bomb inside my head by havin a few ales yesterday, sometimes its wise t step away from gear

circus of muppets lol would make a good name for a band, maybe my own if i could find more muppets like me as far as explaining my playing eh... i,ll maybe have t commission you or Phil Hilborne lol

Cubit:Aye i,ve heard that pedal, it does sound good, all the sig stuff is kinda overwhelming at times, but must say Joes solo & lead tone on "Matt is your Dentist, sorry Joe its always goin t be that for me courtesy of Michelle lol" is killer, wonder if he,s using his sig pedal on it?

Joe:Did you use your sig pedal at any time during the recording of the new cd? "Matt is your dentist" for eg
