Hey Joe!!!
The next european tour when you come to England, you should think about coming to Norwich GB to do a show at the UEA, just an idea though! ;-)

I saw Rush in Irvine last night. This was my fourth time seeing them (once on R30, twice on S&A, and then last night) and it was by far the best set (pacing, crowd response, etc.).
The band sounded great, as expected. Who else is seeing them on this tour?
luisja - It's too bad that you missed the Satch show. Joe probably won't be back in Europe until his next G3 tour or he releases a new album. It could be early 2009 if it's G3 or not until 2010 if it's an album.
Why couldn't you attend? Was it a health issue? I hope you're doing OK...
Igneousiceman - That cello SWTA video is awesome...thanks.
JoeSatrini - I just looked through your setlist and I'd be very pleased with a show like that. My favorite run of songs is probably 8 through 17. Good choices...
cheese101 - Thanks for sharing that Workshop Live video...it's pretty cool. I wonder if the backing track Joe was playing over is something he came up with or if it's from the Workshop Live people...? I like it...
And in the Satch / Deep Purple video, yes, Joe is playing a Steve Morse model Music Man guitar. I seem to remember hearing about that here when it happened. I want to say Joe just went to the show without expecting to jam with Deep Purple, but it just sort of happened. Joe didn't have his guitars with him so he used one of Steve's...
gtrhack - I wasn't aware of any Satch/Hagar/Anthony footage out there. When is it from? I assume it's from the Planet Us period a few years ago?
alexandrecaetano - Thanks for the info on Out Of The Sunrise... :-)
Do you have a current email address for Julie, and if so can you send it to me? I have a Gmail one for her but I'm not sure if she still uses it. I sent her a message a few weeks ago but haven't heard back... I haven't talked to her in a few years but am wondering what she's up to.
REVAN 2008 - Time Machine is my favorite Satch album cover as well...his cover art so rarely has anything to do with the title of the album, but this one does and it's cool.
...Austin...

mahavishnu, Brian.....well, I have my plane ticket and hotel reservation in Dublin....so the arrangements are made..it's just a matter of whether I can get on the plane or not when the time comes. I'm trying to plan on going, so we'll see....
Zen, yep, I love that whole self-titled album, it's one of my favorites. When I'm in a bluesey mood, that's the album I reach for.
purple bear, what town does your uncle live in? There isn't much "near here"....half hour away could be Chiloquin, or Bonanza or Bly....any of those?
Webby Jon, thanks for your answer but awwwwwww....I'm prolly going all the way to Ireland to see Joe and no aftershow drawing for it...phooey....lol.....but that's okay, I'd rather see Joe get his rest than deal with too crazy of a schedule. It'll be good to see him no matter what.....Dublin and Belfast...so there's always the drawing for Dublin for some lucky person.
Austin, I think you're right about Joe just using one of Steve's guitars....if I remember correctly he mentioned that in an interview spot somewhere, how he just borrowed a guitar and plugged into Steve's amp and away they went...I loved that Workshop Live video too, some cool music coming through that from Joe. Oh, and I found a youtube of Joe playing Out of the Sunrise, but didn't post it here because it wasn't the greatest audio or video...very boom-ey sound...but it was kinda cool anyway.

SteveeT : Trying is already a lot.. but you knew that before me.. good luck.
AmirK : ahahah.
Cheese : Flying in Blue Dream, JS red album & Crystal Planet are my three fav albums. All the others albums get songs that i love, of course. But the general studio tone of FIBD, JS & CP talks more to me, nowadays, than the rest.
& i've to add that the tone of Dreaming#11 & SF live are two awesome live tones.
It's subjective, of course.

Hope the weather there holds then Mc....see to that, would you? Not too hot mind....and not rainy if you please....just pleasantly warm. Work your Irish magic....please and thank you.
Zen, those are 3 great albums to have as favorites...I love all of those....I enjoy all of Joe's work but find that I don't listen to NOTE or Surfing as much as I do the other albums. And there are actually only 2 songs that Joe has done, out of his whole catalogue that I usually skip....I find that amazing but hey, it's Joe :)

May the waters of your dreams lap upon the shore of good will and rock you in the hammock of pure rythm. All the best to the best.I wait for the first chance to hear and see the band. Can we make short the time of war and waist? Here in Afghanistan.29 years in the mil and retiring in months..Your music is a blessing to be heard. Music with meaning doesn't have to have words. When you do they are kool.Thinking without speaking allows feelings to not only coincide( to occupy the same place in space or time) but to have equal say?I think yes.

No disrespect to Stu, who is an amazing bassist, but I am
severely bummed that Brad Russell is out of the band. I worked many gigs with Brad and his brother Kevin (a great
guitarist), as the Russell Brothers. Brad is definately an original (like Stu) and is a very down to earth kind of guy.
Never had issues with drugs or alcohol, he lives to play the bass.
I hope Brad is back with the band when you return to the states. My first Satch show was at the Cotati Cabaret back in
'87(?) when Surfing came out. Bill Graham was there. All my
friends & I talked about after the show was Stu Hamm. He was the surprise. I hope Brad can be the surprise when the
tour comes to the states. He's worked his butt off his whole
life and nobody would be disappointed. Brad would make everyone look good.
Hi to Jeff. I worked a couple gigs with him when he was playing with Glenna Griffin. All the best to everyone.
YOU ROCK!!!!
