Hi all,

I'm heading over to Guitar Center tomorrow night in NYC. I'm hoping that getting there by 5-5:30 is not going to be too late.

Looking forward to meeting you again, and can't wait to see the new stuff live. I'll be the guy with the keyboard :-)

Have the new CD in the player as we speak. Some really cool new stuff Joe...always an inspiration

Joe - PSATMOR = very Satchifunkilus! I think you've put something subliminal in there as I've only managed a few hours sleep and so it's playing again (now 4am). Inspirational as always

P.S any chance you can make the track Ghosts available to all as a single download or something?

michelle - woah! Scary, but glad to hear all is ok. I'm impressed with the alert set up you have over there

UK'ers - did your CD/DVD come with a Guitar Center sticker LMAO?

Phydeaux_3 - I was going to suggest checking your headphones having tested it without issue, but glad to see you sorted it. Nice car, do they do the Evo version in the US?

renlaser - I think Why used an Eventide H3000 Harmoniser

Do The Stu - interesting news about G3, so if it hits the US late August, do you think it's likely to hit the UK/Europe after? I hope it makes it back to the UK shores this time....

Webmaster - perhaps a good addition to the site would be an albums review page, like we have for the gigs?

Satriella - hello : )

Clarky - do you get excited about new Satch releases? How are your rehearsals etc going?

Have a great (PSATMOR filled) day all

Here's the real Mystery--how did ANY of tracks 1 through 8 make it onto this album over Ghost? Ghost, I'm surmising, is the missing third part to the epic musical suite Joe had originally planned to have on the album. The first two parts are songs 9 and 10. Ghost would have completed the suite. After several listens to the CD, I have to say that the last two songs are the real heart of it. Right now they're the only songs I even want to listen to. I'm sure I'll like the others more as time goes on, but they are definitely not as rich and meaty as the last two tracks. Now the question is whether I should download itunes and buy the entire album AGAIN just to get the last piece of the suite. Sony, if you're listening, this was NOT a cool marketing move.

OK...the reaction wasn't quite what I expected (heck, only two or three people said something about it), but my G3 post was an April Fool's joke.

It was more subtle than what I did last time, but I thought I'd still be able to get some people with it. I thought the bit about Jonathan Mover would have been a dead giveaway, but oh well.

So yeah...there's no G3 tour planned for this year. It'd be cool to see Brian May do something with Joe some day, but we'll have to wait I guess.

andy of uk - I think I'll post my review in one big piece...maybe as early as Wednesday night. We'll see how busy I am.
Wingman - Thanks for the info about the Guitar Center event, and welcome to the site. You mentioned FIABD, so I guess you've been a fan for a while? How did you get into Satch's music?
dakawan - I imagine Joe was playing with backing tracks...that's what he's done at similar events in the past.
forgotten remedy - Keep in touch...I'll be at the Guitar Center event in L.A. on the 8th as well. It's always nice to meet other fans.
JS JS - Hey there...how've you been?

Joe, Bummer, I just saw that you will be in Plymouth Mall's guitar center tomorrow and I won't be able to make it. I am having a medical procedure on Friday and the prep for it is on Thursday unfortunately. Do you plan on doing any other tours this year? Also, I was wondering if you had ever thought of doing an album with your versions of great songs. I always wondered what your version of Hendrix's "Little Wing" would sound like. I know its been done and done again, but maybe even a Beethoven song. I am just cruious because that has always been an interesting thing for me, to hear someone else interpretation of a song. For instance, the Cure's version of Hendrix's "Purple Haze". Take care

Rush plans to start new studio album next year

DETROIT (Billboard) - Canadian power-rock trio Rush hopes to start work on a new studio album next year, but will serve up a double helping of live material before then.

First up, on April 15, is "Snakes & Arrows Live," which features such rarities as "Circumstances" and "Entre Nous," tunes the band had never performed on stage before last year.

The CD comes from a show last October at the Ahoy Arena in Rotterdam, and video footage will appear on a DVD scheduled for the late summer or early fall, said guitarist Alex Lifeson.

"We shot it in HD, and I hear it looks really dramatic," said Lifeson, who supervised the stereo mix for the CD.

Rush begins the latest leg of its world tour on April 11 in Puerto Rico; dates are on tap through July 22 in Atlanta.

Lifeson said he and bandmates Geddy Lee and Neil Peart are also thinking a bit about a follow-up to last year's studio release "Snakes & Arrows," which debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200.

"I'm guessing that we're probably going to take a little bit of the break at the end of this tour," he said. "I don't see us really doing much in the way of any new material probably until the spring of next year, and then we'll see where we go. We generally prefer to just start on that first day and sit down and start jamming; it's such an exciting moment, and it becomes it's own living thing. We seem to be much more balanced and a lot happier working that way."

Hey Joe and crew- I just received the new album with DVD - very nice!! Very nice mixes there! Definately it is a much more laid back album. Super Collassal was much edgier than this one. You are showing your age joe! Well, wine gets better with age right? Anyway, congrats again and I wish you much success with this new tour! When are we going to see another G3 show? Also, are you planning a future acoustic guitar album? That would be totally awesome! Well, time for me to start learning your new songs on my new JS100 and JS1000 axes! Hey by the way, I bought a new JSX head and it sounds great, but unfortunately, it's not the tone I am looking for, sorry to say, but this mother is LOUD! It is definately your tone, 100%. I put an Evolution 2 pickup in the bridge and a PF Joe in the neck of my JS100 and man, it rocks! I am choosing to go with the Carvin Legacy, only because it's the tone I am looking for. But, I love the JSX equally. It's just not the tone I am looking for. Very nice amp however, and the guitars are mine forever! I also own a Ibanez JEM 7v which is the bomb! Hey Joe, if you ever need a backup guitar player, I know all of your tunes by heart, and am more than willing to back you. Probably a next to none chance of me ever playing with you, but thought I would make myself available. I have 25 years experience in playing all types of stringed instruments, and have recorded many tunes I wrote myself. I am coming up with a new album soon entitled "jetsetter". Look for me out there - Jesse Cruz. Should be on iTunes soon. Thanks again guys and congrats on a job well done! Happy touring!! - JESS

Captain Steve....it's all a facade for other people's benefit, but thanks for caring.

And now I have to explain to my autistic son that there actually is no G3 concert for him to look forward to after all. His little world is so small as it is, when there's something so good to look forward to as a road trip to go see Joe, his most favorite person in the whole world, he gets so happy and excited. He was overwhelmed with the idea of Brian May on tour with Joe and Steve.....guess I'm too stupid to catch when people are joking around.

Do The Stu - Nice one! Hook, line & shrinker. D'oh!

Satrini - Yeah the dealer where I bought my Lancer has 2 of the new Evos in the showroom... my gawd are they luscious. I'm not in the US btw... I'm a Canajun.

So... I bought the iTunes album last night, just for Ghosts, pretty nice track I must say. Still I HATE propietary BS (M4P files?!), maybe it stops most people from being able to do anything with it but it only encourages me to crack/n/hack the everliving shit out of it. Make it "unstealable" & I'll rip it off for sure. I guess it's a spite thing.

Nice April Fool's Stu BUT, it pales compared to this one that sucked in a few yesterday....

This was for April Fool's yesterday IT IS NOT TRUE!!!!

"It now appears that the long rumored, long awaited and much wished for Led Zeppelin reunion is now back on again, with a bizarre twist. In a soon to be published interview with Classic Rock Magazine conducted by Geoff Barton, guitar legend and Rock And Roll Hall Of famer Jimmy Page has confirmed that indeed Led Zeppelin will be going out on the road this summer, commencing a world tour which will see the rock legends hit the U.S., Europe and yes, even Kashmir. However, the band's choice of drummers to replace the late John Bonham is both astounding and baffling. For sitting behind the kit for this historic event will be none other than, and I hope you're sitting down when reading this...Ringo Starr!

Yes, the soon to be 68 years young former Beatles drummer has signed on for this massive undertaking with the stipulation that he'll be allowed to perform a mid concert set consisting of his early 70's hits such as "It Don't Come Easy," "Back Off Boogaloo," "You're Sixteen," "Photograph" and "The No No Song" albeit presented in a more "Zeppelin" type style.

In the interview, when queried about how the rest of the band came to the decision to pick Starr over Jason Bonham, Page responded with "What happened was we all sat down via a conference call several months back, right after the O2 show, and the one name that came up, one that had the personality and talent needed to make the band gel again as a cohesive unit, was Ringo. After convening for several rehearsals, Robert, John and I came to the conclusion that it was working, and now we've decided to go full force with it. We were amazed at how well it all worked out, actually. I think people will be as well when they hear how well Ringo is able to replicate John's drumming in a live setting. It's incredible that we never considered him before to be quite honest. It's an honour to have such a living legend along with us, and we're quite excited".

More on this developing story as it unfolds...."

Bwahaha Ringo playing "Moby Dick" while humming "Octopus' Garden" in his head, too funny.....
