wizard - hahahaaa... you're totally right.. I can't add up...
Gsus4 = G, C, D
jblaze - ah yes I remember that freq table.. I still use it myself.. what I did though was to set a very tight Q and sweep the freqs of each instrument to refine the values [essentially using that list as a rough guide / starting point].. I then went on to read up on a thing known as frequency masking [an effect where instruments that share similar characteristics get in each others way] and a technique called 'complimentary EQ' [which is the remedy].. this stuff helped me no end..
blue moon - the kick freq isn't the same for every kit.. my kick's fundamental freq is around 50Hz... this is why you have to freq sweep each instrument..
Matt - this is where we differ.. I'm not really into 'amp tone'.. I use Marshall power amps and cabs but not amps with a pre-amp.. my 2120's create my tone, the Marshall stuff just makes it big.. I guess you could say that I use the Marshall stuff like a guitar centric PA system.. lol..
Alexandre - cool vid bro... you is a nice player... not fun playing live over backing tracks is it... lol... it's so much more fun with a band...
very cool stuff bro..
Satrini - yup.. I get excited to... don't forget.. I'm fan just like you guys... lol...
the last band rehearsal was really nice... I hope we go out and play like that live... that'd be just awesome...

Do The Stu

If Rush does do something different this leg, maybe they would do another DVD, but unlikely though.

At least things are coming out regularly from Rush again.

Salt Lake City please! We've had the Olympics, Eric Johnson, Vai, Van Halen, Rush, and on and on but no Satch. You would draw from all of Utah, Idaho and Wyoming. I hope this becomes a chorus here...

Yo, long time since I posted here, been hanging out at:

How is everyone? What does everyone think of the new album, I haven't had chance to pick it up yet but no doubt will do in the next few days or so?

Hi Joe - hope you are well and getting psyched for the tour

Phydeaux_3 - oops, yep sorry, I see you are a Canajun... it was 4am.. I was sleep reading/typing. Not as keen on the new shape but they're still gr8 cars

Do The Stu - yep, ok, you got me, although it was already AM of April 2nd so it didn't really register. I'll make sure to not believe a word you post in future LOL

Clarky - coolio, I figured you might be so busy with your stuff and missed all the fuss ; ) - you catching any of the tour?

PhilTheMetalhead - amazon.co.uk?

All - at 6 and then 26 seconds in, is that Jeff ?

Nite all... enjoy rockline (doubt I'll be up at 4ish two days in a row). Is anyone recording it?

Hi all !!! I'm from Peru and I would like to know if Joe would like to come here...BECAUSE WE NEED JOE!!!!WE NEED MOTORCYCLE DRIVER HERE!!!!WE NEED TO STOP LISTENING THAT Fo(#ing-chit(I say that because I don't know if I can say the word with "sh-" in this forum) MUSIC NAMED REGGAETON!!!! WE MUST NOT CONTINUE LISTENNING MORE OF THAT STUPID MERENGUE BALADS!!! If Joe come, he will give us a little bit more of musical education, something that actually a 60% OF THIS COUNTRY don't have... talking about other stuff, when and were would be the next G3??It will be with Steve Vai?? and....I think this could be a good idea: work with Buckethead (it's only an idea), time and place doesn't matter. If I had had the oportunity of giving my congratulations to Joe in G3 with Yngwie in Denver when I saw that show (I downloaded it xD), probably I would have die of an inner explotion before I have said something (that concert was so damn great!!! Actually,Yngwie is just a guitar god!!!)......So erm...congratulations for a good show.

Just wanted to say how much I enjoy the new cd.It is more laid back than Super Colossal, but nothing wrong with that.I generally try not to compare discs, because each has it's own personality and vibe.

I do kind of feel that the last couple of songs don't really fit the cd.They are both rockin songs and that is probably why they don't really seem to fit, because the rest of the disc has a completely different vibe.A more rock/laid back vibe. While the last two and even Ghost are cutthroat most of the way.Much like Super Colossal I enjoy the whole disc though. Each song brings out a different emotion and has it's own strengths and weaknesses.Hard to believe Satch has continued to put out the quality of music he has for as long as he has.Keep it up the awesome work Joe.

Rockline starts in 15 minutes. You can listen to it at 107.7 The Bone in San Francisco, or you can click here to see a list of other stations that also carry the broadcast.

chrimajon - Cool...thanks for sharing. Aerosmith was the first band I got into on my own; it was about 15 years ago now. I'm a bit younger than you though...24.

These days I listen to a lot of instrumental rock and progressive rock, but I still keep going back to the classic rock bands like Aerosmith and Led Zeppelin. It's hard to get that stuff out of your system, haha.

sinnetor - Some websites are carrying the special edition. You can pick it up by using the preorder link on the home page here, or you can also get it from CD Universe.

The special edition isn't being carried in stores...it'll be available at the Guitar Center events, through people associated with Joe I guess.

USAEAGLE - It looks like iTunes is the only place Ghost is available for now, and you have to purchase the entire album to get it. It might be available as an iTunes single several months from now, but I don't know.
mikesb - Oh man...some of those are awesome. Steven Tyler portrayed by Joan Rivers? Sharon Osbourne apologizing for EVERYTHING? Good stuff...thanks for sharing that.
PhilTheMetalhead - The link looks like it's still active, so yeah...go ahead and buy it through the site.
OME - That's pretty cool...how old is it?
testas - It looks like the Guitar Center is 16 miles from the airport. Click here for a map. No one has said anything about needing tickets, but it'd probably be smart to get there a few hours early just in case the crowds are huge.
DelfinoPie - Hey there...what have you been up to? I've been away from T2J for quite a while but came back a few weeks (EDIT - I said "years" originally by mistake, haha) ago...man did I miss this place.

Stick around...

Joe Satrini - Haha...come on now. You can always believe everything I post unless it's on April 1. And then only don't believe it if it's a joke, which this thing was... ;-)
frankt2525 - Hi... Turkey Man is an Engines Of Creation-era song that was included on the Additional Creations EP released with some copies of that album. I found a copy on Ebay shortly after it was released, but it's very hard to come across now.

Dog With Crown And Earring is a bonus track on the Japanese version of Is There Love In Space?

Ghosts is included as a bonus track when you buy Professor Satchifunkilus And The Musterion Of Rock through iTunes.

Currently these songs aren't available anywhere else.

savoie2008 - Interesting...I guess I look at the album in a different way than you do. I LOVE the last few songs on the CD, and feel that they're more what the album should be instead of some of the other things that are on it. It's cool that everyone can find something different to like, though...

...Austin...
