"Get out of my yard!" had some influence I guess! Joe musta liked the idea of yelling through the pickup. Amazing album by Gilbert btw... check it out if you haven't already.

I just heard about Satch appearing at a local Guitar Center near me next month (Plymouth Meeting, PA)!!! I am very excited to go, but am expecting a HUGE line for that probably 5 miles long and I bet I won't get in. What I'd like to know is (a) is there any way to get advance tickets or something like that via the website for us members (GC says no tix, just show up), (b) can someone from Joe's crew hang out outside & offer for sale the new album/DVD that supposedly is exclusive to GC???? I am going to go and TRY to get in but, like I said, I am expecting to be shut out, but at the very least I would like to pickup the new thang while I am there, even if that means buying it out in the parking lot. Cheers.

True - no carrying weapons in IL - big no no. We have been involved in a few of those situations over the year - hard to work deals out over there.

Not sure if I will be making the show or not in Chicago. I have become a runner and I have a race Saturday morning and another Sunday afternoon.

I will be down your way in May to do the Indy mini-marathon.

Are you going to run it?

Honey, will you marry... Oh. Never mind...

LONDON (Reuters) - It is the one moment every man wants to get right -- and which London floor-fitter Lefkos Hajji could hardly have got more wrong.

The luckless 28 year-old's dreams of giving his sweetheart, Leanne, 26, the ultimate proposal have literally vanished into thin air.

Hajji, of Hackney, east London, had concealed a $12,000 engagement ring inside a helium balloon. The idea was that she would pop the balloon as he popped the question.

But as he left the shop, a gust of wind pulled the balloon from his hand and he watched the ring -- and quite possibly the affections of his girlfriend -- sailing away over the rooftops.

"I couldn't believe it," he told The Sun newspaper.

"I just watched as it went further and further into the air.

"I felt like such a plonker. It cost a fortune and I knew my girlfriend would kill me."

Hajji spent two hours in his car trying to chase and find the balloon, without success.

"I thought I would give Leanne a pin so I could literally pop the question," he said.

"But I had to tell her the story -- she went absolutely mad. Now she is refusing to speak to me until I get her a new ring."

He is hoping the ring will still turn up.

"It would be amazing if someone found it," he added.

slanshroom - That prank video is one of the greatest things I've ever seen. Thanks for sharing that, haha.

cheese101 - I'm doing OK, all things considered. I'm still working as a copy editor at a newspaper, but I'm now working out of a different office and doing nearly twice the work for the same pay (editing stuff for two papers instead of one). It's lame in some ways but awesome in others. There was a period of time about two weeks ago where I thought I may have been out of a job...but it all worked out. So I can't complain.

In the larger picture, I'm really itching to up and move somewhere completely new. I don't quite know where I'd be headed, but I like the idea of a fresh start. Lately I've been looking for a reason to stay in the Long Beach area, and I don't kow if I have anything...so...

I know we don't have tour dates yet, but do you see yourself making it to any SoCal Satch shows this time around? It'd be nice to hang out with you and Chris again...

matt king - Hahaha...In-N-Out is so amazing.

We had a really bad night at work two Sundays ago. Our network was down and we had all kinds of other problems. So as a result, management bought us In-N-Out for dinner. We ordered about $80 worth of food for 16 people...single burgers, double burgers, quadruple burgers, grilled cheeses (burgers without the burger), all kinds of fries, and several milk shakes and sodas. They cooked all of that food in 12 minutes without making any mistakes on any of the several special orders. Delicious.

marimariSRV - You're getting married? Congrats! :-)

::sigh:: I need to find a girlfriend...haha.

...Austin...

The first effect from the VOX Satriani Line is already up at www.voxamps.com and the name of it.......

SATCHURATOR !!!!!!

Your Signature amps will have their own little cousins now. I hope -I am sure - that Joe Satriani new pedals will rock the Guitar effect pedals market out. Look forward to demo these and listen to the results.... Can't wait for your wah-wah.

You're right. AC/DC is LONG overdue but I read this recently which makes me hopeful:

Bassist Cliff "Williams told Spinner.com last month that AC/DC will enter the studio March 1('08) to begin recording its first new album in eight years."
