I have heard the new CD/DVD many times.
First the good news: the Bonus DVD is great. Love he extra package.
Bad news: I'm really disappointed with the new CD by Satch.
I miss the great Wah-Wah solos like on Super Colossal... bad song structures on the last 2 songs.... great beginning... bad ending. I always thought Crowd Chant was the deepest step down, but Wanna Rock is the worst song I've ever heard from Satriani.
Conclusion: Professor Satch sounds like Jamming, not like an oneness like on Surfing, Extremist or Super Colossal.

Do The Stu I asked him and he’s not sure if it’s Raspberry Jam (Delta-v: Live in SF) or Crowd Chant.
It’s great that he likes Joe! We took a 7 hour car drive for our vacation one year and it was Joe all the up and all the way back!!!!!
Joby1kenobi He “plays “also Santa had to give him a red guitar like Joe's with a whammy bar…. (Too bad those elf’s for got the whammy!) you are100% right when you say “Fantastic start to a musical journey.”

Austin, I went from getting 8-9 hours sleep a night, to getting 6 or less. The whole shift change was and still is a hard biochemical change for my body and brain to handle. I'm a night person - alwaya have been. Being in bed before 11:00 sucks so bad. Sure, I'm dead tired by then, but until I get it in my head not to hate it, it's going to be a struggle. I cannot "love" being a morning person. Just ain't normal ffs! lol! I know I'm on schedule with millions of other ppl. now, but I really miss my old schedule! I do love being home with my family at night, so with that being the big picture - I will adjust....eventually. lol!
God Bless the people who do swing shift! Changing shifts sucks!
dakawan, my husband and I only got done work at 3:30 and we're an hour away from Philly, so you see where that would have put us. If I would have been there, I would have been VERY happy that you had your music on. It was a crap day for weather, and I'm sure the music was a great moral booster. Good thinking!
BigB, I just can't get my head around ppl. threatening to kill ppl when they get pissed. wtf? What ever happened to "I'm gonna kick your ass"??? Hand to hand, man to man. Bunch of pussies (sorry) I tell ya. Guns are so much easier - which is why I hate them so much. It's a chickens way of dealing with things.
Amir & chadleycarpayment, thanks
Cappy, that was damn funny. I'm going to use that one later. lol!
Stevee T, that what I ask God to do every morning :-)
I'm going to put Professor Satch on and let it soak in some more. Every time I listen to it, I find myself thinking "Damn, that was a good tune. Which one was that?" I gotta say my first week faves are Andalusia, Asik Vaysel, Come On Baby, Revelation, and Overdriver. I've been digging the last two tracks on the cd since my first listen. Great tunes!
Happy weekend!

OK, here's my iTunes beef, I download the album & then burn out a copy for my car... when I pop it in the deck I get "NO TITLE" for album, artist & song. WTF is THAT?! No ID tags? That's just totally awfull. So... now if I want the titles I have to take that burned CD & rip it back to my PC... then edit all the ID3 tags.. then burn out another CD with the info intact. That just plain sucks ass. I thought iTunes were supposed to be on top of these sort of things? This blows.
smooches,

I was right, more favourites have emerged. That high note in the chorus of "Revelation" is absolutely magic. Andulasia and Out of the Sunrise are absolute TUNES as well.
Seriously Joe, nice work.
Anyone else into the program "House"? Best acting of Hugh Laurie's career, I reckon

Joe.....thank-you so much for the new cd, it's beautiful. It's all that's holding me here right now. You always touch my heart with your music and I'm so glad you listen to your instincts and own feelings when it comes to composing. I would never want you to change or do anything different than what you feel is right. Love ya Joe.....thanks for being an anchor for me when nothing else is right now.

I FINALLY MET JOE AFTER 21 YEARS!
18, if you want to count from my first missed opportunity to meet him.
Thanks Joe! I have been around long enough to know that staying after to sign stuff takes a lot of time that you could use for sleep for your next event, or just have time for other stuff in general. So THANKS MUCH!!!!
On the off chance that this will jar a few synapses.... I met you in DC at the Guitar Center April 4th....
You signed the discs in my Legacy SWTA .... I asked about if ibanez would make any other productions of the Chrome Boy for us masses... and about SRV when you were on MTV UNPLUGGED with him shortly before his untimely passing.
I just want to say a big thank you for taking time to do what you do.
I have also lost a bit of sleep trying to play some of the licks you create....LOL
I had to get that out of the way first....
Hey All,
It has been a while since I check in last.... work is getting in the way of my guitar playing and a lot of things as of recent....come on lottery...LOL...
But I wasn't gonna let a 2 1/2 hour drive from Richmond to DC and crappy rush hour traffic stop me from seeing Joe. I hoped I could've gotten there sooner....guess I'll be taking a day off of work next time....missed some of the beginning of it....and even though I am almost 6ft tall, I couldn't see much through the standing crowd that was there... there is always some 6'3" guys whos head is just in the way of you....lol.... but music is about the ears anyway.... They need to boost your mic a bit for when you are talking though.....
That is ok... got the new CD with the guitar center DVD exclusive....and watch you play 'Crushing Day' for the fast ripping solo....something I have always wanted to see you play....YEAH....
Can you tell I am elated....HAHAHA.....<---- 'Headless Horseman laugh....LOL
Just had to chime in....
Thanks,
Guitar Samuri
PS - I am thinking about becoming a guitar ninja.... any thoughts?...lol

Then I will buy it from sony or my records shop.
Hope we will be soon with same "privileges" in France. Anyway, I will be at your Lyon show!!! This album sounds great, I love most "Come on baby" , "Revelation" and the others needs moe listening, but podcast is too short....why don't you stream this one as you have done for Super Colossal, that was great...
See you 26th of may in Lyon.

I was in Wal-Mart buying a large bag of Purina for my dogs and was in line to check out. A woman behind me asked if I had a dog........Duh!
I was feeling a bit crabby so on impulse, I told her no, I was starting The Purina Diet again, although I probably shouldn't because I'd ended up in the hospital last time, but that I'd lost 50 pounds before I awakened in an intensive care unit with tubes coming out of most of my orifices and IV's in both arms. Her eyes about bugged out of her head.
I went on and on with the bogus diet story and she was totally buying it. I told her that it was an easy, inexpensive diet and that the way it works is to load your pockets or purse with Purina nuggets and simply eat one or two every time you feel hungry.
The package said the food is nutritionally complete so I was going to try it again.
I have to mention here that practically everyone in the line was by now enthralled with my story, particularly a tall guy behind her.
Horrified, she asked if something in the dog food had poisoned me and was that why I ended up in the hospital.
I said no.....I'd been sitting in the street licking my butt when a car hit me.
I thought the tall guy was going to have to be carried out the door.
:)))))
Cheese - did you really say this. lol
