Regarding the loudness wars stuff.. thanks MARITIME for the links. Good read. It's a shame the artists are not in more control of what is done to their music. I would have assumed they would want the mastering engineer to make it sound the best. I suppose we can blame MP3's.
I also want to say I agree with STU, this CD still sounds great and I probably wouldn't have even noticed if I hadn't accidentally clicked the edit track button and saw that blown out wave.
JOE if you see this.. please tell your engineers to take it easy with the loudness next time, since it blows out the dynamic range too much. I miss the PUNCH. :( Any comment about this topic would be appreciated.
Looking forward to the tour, you always put on a KILLER show dude.

Potato Problem
Well, Girl Potato and Boy Potato had eyes for each other, and finally they got married, and had a little sweet potato, which they called 'Yam.'
Of course, they wanted the best for Yam.
When it was time, they told her about the facts of life.
They warned her about going out
and getting half-baked, so she wouldn't get accidentally mashed, and get a bad name for herself like 'Hot Potato,' and end up with a bunch of Tater Tots
Yam said not to worry, no Spud would get her into the sack and make a rotten potato out of her!
But on the other hand she wouldn't stay home and become a Couch Potato either.
She would get plenty of exercise so as not to be skinny like her Shoestring cousins.
When she went off to Europe, Mr. and Mrs. Potato told Yam to watch out for the hard-boiled guys from Ireland .
And the greasy guys from France called the French Fries. And when she went out west, to watch out for the Indians so she wouldn't get scalloped.
Yam said she would stay on the straight and narrow and wouldn't associate with those high class Yukon Golds, or the ones from the other side of the tracks who advertise their trade on all the trucks that say, 'Frito Lay.'
Mr. and Mrs. Potato sent Yam to Idaho P.U. (that's Potato University ) so that when she graduated she'd really be in the Chips.
But in spite of all they did for her, one-day Yam came home and announced she was going to marry Tom Brokaw.
Tom Brokaw!
Mr. and Mrs. Potato were very upset.
They told Yam she couldn't possibly marry Tom Brokaw because he's just......
Are you ready for this?
OK! Here it is!

There was an Irish potato called Spud Murphey, who created his own Army and took control of the whole potato field. They now call him Dick Tater.
Most of you guys and girls appear to be musicians,do you have any good music jokes?
Whats the differnce between a drummer and a drum machine?
You only have to punch information into a drum machine once.

You guys are crackin' me up!
Austin, here is the Sovereign Performing Arts Center where we saw Jackson Browne last night Joe should play there when he comes to PA. Not a bad seat in the house really. We were up in the third row on the balcony (loge), and this liquored up woman missed the last set of stairs on the way to her seat in the front row and damn near went over the railing. It was great! lol! She was schnozed just enough to hang on to her drink though - but the people on the first level got a nice shower with 1/4 of it.

Do the Stu :
Thank you for the welcome. I attended a community college to receive a degree in Information Systems (computers) from Spring 2001 to Summer 2004. At some point during that period of time I was talking to one of my instructors about my musical endeavors and preferences. As I remember, part of the conversation went something like this:
Him: "Do you like Joe Satriani's music?" Me: "Hmmm, Joe... what was the last name again?" Him: "Satriani" Me: "Sounds familiar, but I can't place him."
Him: "Aw. I think you'd like it. No lyrics, just mainly instrumental guitar." Me: "Electric or acousitc?" Him: "Mostly electric, but he does a bit of acoustic." Me: "Don't think I've ever heard much electric instrumental. I'll check it out."
A day or two later I remember looking through my CD collection and listening to the soundtrack to the movie Super Mario Bros. ... Ever since I was a little kid, I LOVED the bit when they were pipesurfing on a matress, mainly because of this awesome guitar piece called Speed of Light. "Hmmmm, who made this? ... AH!!! Joe Satriani!!!"
Then I REALLY decided to check out his music. The whole discography in fact. I started by going to Best Buy and getting the remastered Flying in a Blue Dream and went from there.
Well, I hope that answers your question, bye.

Woah.... how many posts/pages?
Joe the whole album is a corker, with Musterion, Revelation, Come on Baby and Andalusia right up there with my all time faves. The chorus phrase at 1.09 is SOOO catchy!
Do The Stu - ok, I'll believe you unless the clock on my system says April 2nd - that's the bit I have to remember LOL. Got any ideas/suggestions on a set list for this tour?
Clarky - so how you findin' PSATMOR? .... and, any gigs outside of London?
Big Bunny - is the train to Freo not a viable option (it's the option I was considering if I get the inspiration again)? I'm going to guess that's a no, based on where in Freo the venue is maybe?
Cappy/Cosmic Ape - Vista was just an "interim" version of windows as Msoft had gone way over their original... schedule they released that to try and show they didn't suck.... oops
Michelle - just good to know it ended ok, sorry it had to happen in the first place though. P.S Looks like you've pulled Joe ; )
Nite all - nice to see so much activity and so much blue!
