I saw Joe for the first time yesterday at the Plymoth Meetting, PA Guitar Center. What a great guy! Very articulate and intelligent. If only all rockstars were as professional.

Hey Joe, I saw you Wed. at Guitar Center. As always Fantastic! The new CD - WOW!!! But what I'm writing you about are the PICKS and CASE. I guess I should explain the card with the photo of a knife on one side also.I make custom knives as a hobby ,that is why I have all different exotic materials,I use them for the handles.I always wind up with pieces to small to use for anything. I got the idea before your SUPER COLOSSAL tour after my fiance' bought me a Platinum ticket and I knew I would get to meet you. I gave you some picks made from mammoth and elephant ivory and also water buffalo horn. Everything is legal , so please don't worry. The horn picks are closer to a modern pick in sound and feel on the strings. Both of the ivories are quite different though. Probably better suited for a nylon string guitar, but they can be quite interesting with steel strings as they have a bit more of an attack. This new pack has one new interesting addition - a pick made from CARBON FIBER ! As you can see on the pick there is a pattern from the weave of the fibers. Joe, as far as I know you are the only guitarist in the world with one and you are the only one I would make one for. The CARBON FIBER pick is something that is so different you can hear it right away. I described it as dirty to you for lack of anything better. I want you to enjoy them. They may wear a bit ,but it's OK!! I'm working on something even Wilder for the next time! Getting married this June and we're going to see you in AMSTERDAM. I'll probably get more picks to you on this tour, when you play N.Y. Thank you for everything ,BILL

So...who here is planning on going to the GC Hollywood in-store on Tuesday 4/8? I have the day off, so I'll probably be up there for most of the day. Does anyone want to hang out ahead of time, or at least meet up at the event? Let me know...

michelle - No time, huh? That means you work for some top secret something or other, doesn't it? ;-)
mikesb - I figure that's an April Fool's gag based on one of the links, but why does it say it was last updated on 4/4? Hehehe...
campbell - I haven't been playing bass all that much recently, actually. So the "9 years" listed here is kinda misleading...it's probably more like "4 1/2 years, with another 4 1/2 of playing occasionally"... I've just been so busy with work over the past few years (ugh that sounds so horrible when I say that), but I've been trying to play more over the past few weeks. We'll see how that goes...

I'd love to hear Speed Of Light on this tour...I've wanted to hear that one for a while, actually.

Zinc Master - Does Dell not realize that the build-to-order model is what made them successful? If they won't let me custom-build a PC, I'll never buy from them again...
Blue_Moon - Happy 3,000!

Years ago I was usually the first person to so many of the posting milestones, and now I'm in the middle of the pack...what happened? ;-)

uptheirons - I don't think an official reason has been given. I don't really want to speculate, but I'd guess it maybe just has to do with Matt wanting to spend time with his family instead of touring? If that's the case, I can't blame him...but I don't think we really know for sure.
Igneousiceman - Ah, OK...cool. I use a boring login at most sites that isn't much more than my first initial and last name. I think this may be the only place where I have a bit of a fun one... I'd be more creative elsewhere but it just gets so hard to keep track of everything...
matt king - Ah...well I'll twist the question around a bit. Are there any songs or sections of songs that haven't quite grabbed you yet, or maybe won't ever? If I had to pick least favorites (and I really hate to have to do this), I might go with parts of Overdriver and Diddle-Y-A-Doo-Dat. But at the same time, there are aspects of those songs that I love. It's tough...
mesa50crazy / Gatsby - Welcome to the site...tell us a bit about yourselves...

...Austin...

Dell - I know. I purchased a Dell a few years ago for 2 main reasons. 1 - great reputation / wanted a good computer. 2 - I could get the computer as I wanted it - not with all the other baloney.

Don't know how this is going to work out for them. I heard they will be selling Dells at Best Buy soon too.

Funny Story: My son (7) needed to get new tennis shoes….. He asked the salesperson “I would like Joe Satriani shoes” You can hear a pin drop and an AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. The next day (after dressing in a black tee shirt and jeans for school) wanted to shave his head…… I won’t even tell when we asked him where he would like to go for a vacation; “to San Francisco and stay at Joes house “….. The response “I don’t think the police would like that too much” answer “they won’t mind he’s a nice guy “. I know most of you will think that’s dumb but I thought it was kind of funny……

greatly appreciated, Chase

Hey Joe - congrats again on such an awesome album! I have a very very important question to ask. If you ever answer any of my messages, PLEASE - I BEG! answer this one! PLEASE! I have been trying for a long time to figure out what kind of reverb you use for your recordings and also live. I have heard something about using 2 delay units with different settings on each to get reverb. I actually tried that, and it still is not the same. If this is a trade secret, I understand. If you can please share how you get your awesome ambient reverb this will make my millenium!! PLEASE! This has driven me crazy for months! Thanks so so much for your help! Keep rockin' and stay safe! -RENLASER

Thank you for your advise. It is a tight squeeze from a time point of view to get to and from the airport in 3 hours and I have got club joe/platinum tickets for his manchester, UK gig in May so At least I will be meeting him again

It would just be so cool though to see joe in this sort of setup. It is a situation that we very rarely see in the UK

Thanks for your help

regards

Chris
