I was in Wal-Mart buying a large bag of Purina for my dogs and was in line to check out. A woman behind me asked if I had a dog........Duh!

I was feeling a bit crabby so on impulse, I told her no, I was starting The Purina Diet again, although I probably shouldn't because I'd ended up in the hospital last time, but that I'd lost 50 pounds before I awakened in an intensive care unit with tubes coming out of most of my orifices and IV's in both arms. Her eyes about bugged out of her head.

I went on and on with the bogus diet story and she was totally buying it. I told her that it was an easy, inexpensive diet and that the way it works is to load your pockets or purse with Purina nuggets and simply eat one or two every time you feel hungry.

The package said the food is nutritionally complete so I was going to try it again.

I have to mention here that practically everyone in the line was by now enthralled with my story, particularly a tall guy behind her.

Horrified, she asked if something in the dog food had poisoned me and was that why I ended up in the hospital.

I said no.....I'd been sitting in the street licking my butt when a car hit me.

I thought the tall guy was going to have to be carried out the door.

:))))) Cheese - did you really say this. lol

PhilTheMetalhead - Yeah, Victor Wooten is amazing! I saw him with Bela Fleck and the Flecktones back in October. I can't believe some of the things he does. He'll play notes with his first two fingers on the E and A strings while using his other two fingers to play harmonics on the D and G strings at the same time. Awesome.

michelle - I have no problem waking up super early in the morning, even when I've stayed up until 2 or 3 a.m. the night before. So I guess that makes me a morning and a night person?

Considering it's easy for me to wake up early in the morning and I love going to concerts in the evening, I wonder why I work the hours that I do. I really should find more of a 9-5 thing...

Mahavishnu - I don't know if I asked you about this last year, but have you put any of your photos from the SWTA gig at the Roxy online somewhere?

...Austin...

Thanks for the compliment JS, glad I could do the song justice

Pro Tools is this recording software that allows you to create multi track recordings, and make mp3s out of the tracks. I think after Joe signed the keyboard, it's now possessed, cause I was able to figure out the drums, bass, rythym and a lot of the lead almost on the first try.

That Korg is the best thing I've ever bought. Last year when I saw Joe, I saw the Karma on stage, which was cool to know that he uses the same keyboard.

I should have the full version on the myspace site by the end of the weekend, I haven't been able to get the song out of my head.

I have some other Joe covers on my youtube site, Satch boogie, Surfing, Flying in a blue Dream, and on the myspace site I have "Made of Tears" and "The Traveller" on there as well.

Let me know what you think, and I hope that I've done the songs justice

...like I said when SC came out, JOE is not 30 anymore... let him grow old, kids... He'll rock the house as long as it still makes sense to him... I don't know about you, but watching the rolling stones play in the superbowl a couple years ago, dancing and squirming around, wearing tight t-shirts like they are 16.... Big NO, NO... at least for me...

I'm waiting for JOE to go acoustic, do a G3 with Tommy Emmanuel, Al di Meola, etc... I'm also waiting on amazon to send me my freaking CD... Apparently, PG's CD got pushed back a couple of weeks, so my whole order is on wait... Stupid Super Saver Shipping!!!!

I think Joe's chops get better with every passing year. He also looks like he's in better shape every frickin' year too!! lol! Must be all those workouts in Pluto slippers holding his guitars ;-)

Buns of steel don't ship UPS!

T-Bo, Bend, Portland, Klamish - it's all in the same bread basket from over here on the right side of the states. lol! my bad. I saw the show on Oprah. It was an odd story. Like I said, I do fear for their saftey. I hope people just let them be.

JOE and T2JERS: I have not been on for a bit because I was In the Hospital.!!!!!! My right foot healed over dead skin and it got infected. Verry serious! To combat blood poisioning I've been a couple of rounds of IV anti-biotics. I actually went twice. I'm on the mend now and can't work. (Again) I will have some time on my hands to listen to all the cool new stuff you've got on the web site. I do hope that the T2J3 project is still in the works. Feel free to email me any info. Hey Joe!
Thanks again for coming to Guitar Center and meeting us! I was the guy at Rockville MD with the chromeboy yesterday. It meant so much to me to meet you and talk to you a little bit. You were so nice and friendly and genuinely interested. ;) Thanks for signing my guitar and I'll be sure to take care of it. You wouldn't know from looking but I actually do play it as my main gutar! As I said yesterday, thanks so much......so much. You were so nice I had to say it twice! ;)
I'll be submitting the picture we took together to the site too! The Ibanez rep was really nice. I waved at your road manager, which was hilarious because I knew who he was but of course he doesn't know me from Bob. He looked at me like I was crazy hehehe
Thanks!
Bill

I find that chromatic stuff helps to advance alternate picking, finger stretching, etc. If, everyday, for example you play a chromatic that uses all the strings from bass "e" to top e-string, 12th fret "e", then your fluency improves, and you can move on to harmonic or melodic minor scales, or just basic major ones. Maybe increase the speed from time to time. You will find that even some of the most complex melodies become easier with this practice.

Hope that helped.
