Hey Joe. My name's BT and I'm a musician in Minnesota. I'm not active in the industry yet, so I don't have any connections. I've been a fan of yours for several years, but I'm not writing as a fan. I am interested in having a professional/business discussion with you. If you have a moment, could you please let me know who I need to contact within management (if not you yourself)? Thank you very much!

As long as I'm on here, I'd like to post my review of Professor Satch.
Professor Satchafunkilus and the Musterion of Rock
This record, like Strange Beautiful Music and Is There Love in Space?, is not going to be a landmark Joe record. But it has some very cool tunes. Most of them aren’t new material for Joe as they remind of previous cuts from former albums. Is it worth the buy? Every penny!
Musterion
This one kind of blends “Not of this Earth” and “Oriental Melody” in my mind. Then again, that description feels way off. It could be an original moment for this record. Very cool, mysterious, and spacey.
Overdriver
Okay, I can’t tie this one to any previous Satch tune, although the refrain would be at home on Strange Beautiful Music. It rocks without rocking hard, and Joe brings back the soloing from his beginning days that we loved so much! In my honest opinion, his “I Am Become Death” string rubbing was ill-placed in this; that sound would be more appropriate in “Musterion.”
I Just Wanna Rock
Rejoice, ACDC fans! The tribute is unmistakable, except for the robotic vocals (what if Joe actually belted them out high and R?). Again, Joe’s solo is incredible, and he sounds more like he did in the early years.
Professor Satchafunkilus
Totally a sequel to “Hill Groove” from Strange Beautiful Music—cool and danceable.
Revelation
You could call this a sequel to “Ten Words.” The pain and hope are in there. Musically and structurally, Joe could put words to this and sell it as a hit single. At first listen, it has “RADIO” written all over it! His solo isn’t over the top, and the refrain is among his top ten most beautiful and memorable. The collaboration of parts towards the end is wonderful to listen to.
Come On Baby
Ooh, this will take anyone back to the Joe Satriani blues album! I’d almost dub it a sequel to “Home,” but it’s not as light-hearted and peaceful—much more pleading and persuading. I hope “Baby” concurred!
Out of the Sunrise
Okay, this is the most original moment. The piano gives this a great radio classic feel, like something from Jackson Browne, and the song is beautiful. Joe’s guitar tracks kind of take me back to “Clouds Race Across the Sky.” The middle section gets quite fun—the reggae feel from “What Breaks a Heart” returns.
Diddle-Y-A-Doo-Dat
FUN!!! Guitarists, have fun perfecting that opener/closer! This one also brings back the “Hill Groove” sensation—guitar AND organ parts! Bob that head!
Asik Vaysel
The opening is very eastern-sounding and beautifully haunting, but the rest is very much a sequel to “Lights of Heaven” from Crystal Planet. Again, Joe’s soloing is terrific!
Andalusia
Yay, Joe goes acoustic! For awhile, anyway. Great track, and maybe original to this record. Wait till you hear Joe just lose it during the pyrotechnical solo! Some of his solos on Super Colossal sound like he lost sanity and control, resulting in slight messiness, but this one has CONTROL!

Thanks Zen Junk! Pretty timely quote right about now, what with the "theme" seeming to be Zappa 'round here right now: When asked about how to make it in the music business, Joe quoted Frank Zappa, saying, "Get a good haircut. Get a good lawyer."
smooches,

aussie, make sure to leave yer heroin at home.
Okay, what movie was that? Turkish prison - heroin?
T-Bones, the back of Chris's head and yer shoulder are very fetching. LOL! He was such a good sock to hold the phone like that. We were ALL there! lol! I was wondering what the crowd cheer was during Mysterion. Joe was playing with his teefs! lol! Oh, and by the way, I've changed the title from Satchafunkymonkeyballs to Satchafunkalicious. That man and his titles. *rolls eyes* I have a hard enough time remembering songs with no lyrics! Ya know, I love him, but I don't LOVE him. lmao!!

What comes next...........
I would like to hear a really strong album. Why not a record with exceptional session musicians? Style: more bluesy or jazzy.
Joe Satriani - Stu Hamm on bass, Mike Portnoy on drums.
That works better as the same Rock formula since Strange Beautiful Music. Go back to experimental styles like on Surfing, Flying, Engines.
I know it's hard after more than 20 years in the music business.
See you on tour in Germany.

I would love a receipe for your salsa, but not the kind that will take the enamel off of my teeth - something more toned down - if you have anything like that.
