Cubit:& an accordion prolly with Wolf playin it on his ski-doo n Satch singin happily along arghhh

When is the American Tour going to be announced? I see all shows in U.K. are sold out. Met Joe at Guitar Center 2 weeks ago. I figured out what the hat with the earflaps is: Joe's wearing earplugs under there.

I'm gonna to be a few egotic; i wasn't scared at all to meet mr Slanshroom, to play with him & to recognize & understand how much straight ahead our time he's about guitar approach. To the contrary, it has been a great pleasure to me. It has definitly brought my mind about guitar to an other step.

Sorry, but this must be definitly said. I don't get problem with the ability of the others, went it's good.

Mark : Hell for me was called sequencer Ardour the last two days.. but i get now all the rythmicall parts, beat, bass & guitar recorded of the variation from HFOB.

Hope it will be the last song i record onto it.

azin..... I read the review and I can't disagree more. Josh Hathaway sounds more like a disgruntled guitarist than a critic. People just don't understand Joe and I think sometimes are bored with themselves and want to hear the same old stuff. Hendrix wanted to move on but evryone wanted to hear Purple Haze and Voodoo Child. Joe's is hip to this and way to smart to fall into this trap. As far as songs sounding the same.......of course they are to a degree......it's called Joe's style. The songs may be similar but his guitar tone is bitchin' on every cd. Now I could see if Joe sounds and tones were they same how it could become a little boring and that's not the case on any of Joe's cd. The man is a master with melody, tone, arrangement along with great song ideas. Keep in mind it's much harder to hold an audience's attention instrumentally than the typical verse, chorus,solo,verse,chorus....outro fronted lead singer trance Rock formula we've all heard for years. I betcha' my bank account (in which you wouldn't want anyway) Mr. Hathaway can hum the melody line to all of Joe's songs he's heard. That can't be bad .......can it?

Chee - The concern shouldn't be whether or not to go but whether or not your goin g to come back. You may end up staying there.

Dave DC - I'm 41 and got real close to being signed a couple times. I've played for 5 and I've played for 10,000. I took about 10 years off somewhere in the middle and started a family. But regardless if I'm playing a dive bar in WA or singing with my kids I get sheer joy from playing. If playing is part of you, you will always do it. And if there are 5 peaple give those 5 all you have to give. They will be better for it. But don't get discouraged. Remember "It's a long way to the top if you wanna rock-n-roll!"

Sure and I'll just move in at Mckenna's house and become his new big sister-pain-in-the-ass :)

Ken...will give the song a listen after work tonight, and email u back then, k?

Slansh....I don't think any Irish lad will wanna get ahold of this mess when I get there....besides, I'm going for my Joe, for Joe-Satch...and maybe a little family-owned shop or two for some handmade Irish goodies. Although, I will say....that the hotel I booked....in downtown Dublin...is known as a night time "hot spot" and it says if I'm looking for peace and quiet, that isn't the hotel fer me....well....I won't be in the room all that much I don't think anyway, so it should be fine. I'll hafta find an Irish pub to sit back in and soak up the local color at least once I guess.

If anything, I'll get lost and never find my way back home...someone take care of Chris for me, eh?

Coffee man - No probs man, although I haven't met them face to face there are a few peeps here that I have a good bit of time for and respect. You happen to be one of them. Clarkus maximus and 'shroomboy Roy were also very cool when I asked a little something of them, (stuck that bit in the middle so they might not see it!). Regarding your post to azin, I reckon M le Zen Poisson hit the nail on the head some time ago. He said Joe Satriani is a master of sound, well ole Satch sounds masterful to me!!

Cappy......Well....I'm glad I made the team....lol..... As for the post to Azin. Did you read the review? Mr. Hathaway basically is saying Joe has managed to hide from Sony and that's why he's still making records and it's the same songs we've heard for years. One of the most obsurd things I've ever heard. I would love to hide behind 13 studio albums and millions of records sold and not to mention something like 13 grammy nominations. I think Mr. Hathaway needs to spend more time practicing his guitar (if he even plays) more than writing such bullshit. Now that I think of it..... If he doesn't play......What the hell does he know?

cheese.......Thanks....hugs of course......

Wow, I've had a busy week. I have 10 pages to get through since Sunday...let's see how that goes...

Joe Satrini - I'm not sure who is in the AWMAWY video. I'll watch it again and let you know. I'm only going from my memory, but I'm pretty positive Jeff is in it. I wouldn't be surprised to see John Cuniberti in there either. I don't remember Stu being in the video, but I may be wrong. I'll have to dig out Satch Tapes...

cheese101 - That's funny about Chris only wanting to be 21 for the concerts. I was the same way...I didn't have my first drink until I was three months shy of 22.

Anyway, Satch seemed to play a lot of 21+ gigs at the HOB on Sunset when I was under 21...and now that I'm old enough, I think he's only done one 21+ gig in LA since (The Cliff Show). So I've missed out...although I guess it's a win-win, because it means Joe is playing in bigger/better venues.

Zen Junk - Cool...thanks for sharing that article.
The NIL8R - It's good to hear your thoughts on the record...thanks for sharing.
BigBunny - Haha...I like the extra art you added to your Satch ticket. ;-)
Jacks5150 - I believe Joe gets his hats from Project Alabama.
testas - It's too bad that the GC gig didn't work out. Let me know how your platinum package deal goes, though...hope it all works out for you.
loll - Thanks for posting your PSATMOR thoughts.

What do you mean about Musterion's solo sounding "constructed"? Do you mean that it sounds like it was overrehearsed, or that it's a bunch of short guitar licks pasted together?

I like how there are so many different phrases hiding in there...it makes it's fun picking them all apart in my head.

I think Out Of The Sunrise can turn into something amazing in a live situation. I hope it makes the setlist...

Well, I have six pages to go...I'll finish catching up later.

...Austin...

Coffee man - No I didn't read the article. Although personally I don't believe being a player is a pre-requisite to being a critic. I'm not a player myself but I do know what sounds good to me and what doesn't. I can also appreciate sublime skills when I hear them. I also think it quite fitting that Sony signed Joe, on many of his albums he has taken an idea from someone else and done it a bit differently and so much better, just like Sony!

trower01, Joe will be coming to Philly some time in the Fall (US tour). Prolly the Tower or Keswick. Keep yer eye out for dates this summer.

T-Bones, sounds like yer on yer way. You'll have to get yer swerve on, take a ride on the bus, sleep thru yer stop, then walk a mile back to yer hotel - just for shits and giggles. lol!

Mc, I'm staying at Blooms in the Temple Bar area....and it's kinda too late to tell me if it's safe or not =/ I'm already booked! It has a restaurant which is CLOSED on Sundays and Mondays ffs...guess I just won't eat fer two days....has a nightclub apparently, the website said it's very popular and busy! I think I can walk to and from Vicar St from there though.

What am I getting myself into......holee geez.......

And PS, what I'm freaking out even more about is getting from Dublin to Belfast and back....u say it's easy, but that's cuz it's familiar to U....for me, it's all new and strange....
