I've just been messing around on my ol' gat, and managed to figure out the intro, main riff, backing and chorus (lead) to 'Revelation'. I'm terrible when it comes to theory so I instead learn and play by ear. Just wondering if anyone else is keen on cracking this song and tabbing it out on Powertabs, Guitarpro or something, as if someone with my lack of ability can figure it out by jamming, surely some ACTUAL musician can figure it out easy, haha!

Have a crack, chaps. Can't hurt to try.

Just back from a Rock Prog festival, & i've to say that it was warm & amazing. An aficionados festival with several bands.

I know it's not really a Rock Progressive forum here, but i also know that there's some Rock Prog knowlegeable people around us.

So, check the sweden band Trettioariga Kriget. Only one thing to say.. it's them, & they burnt the stage. No, there's no shred at all.

Roy ; yeap, some good times.. this festival is really cool.. all the energy is respect & pleasure to share the music.. i mean great people far from the small mentality which rots the music world... we should go to this festival one day, in the futur, you on guitar & me on bass.. in the futur. Think about it. You know i'm not a marionette theatre.

& i found a second band as bass player.. a cover band.. they play Eric Clapton, JJ Cale, & Cat Stevens... will try with them this monday.

The POD X3 is a very good piece of equipment, however, a big batch of them was kind of malfunctioning. Do not purchase it over the internet, go to a store. In the event of having to exchange the product, it will be much easier to do it this way. If you can afford it, I'd advise you to get the extended warranty on it, too.

The X3 Live has more ins and outs than the X3 Bean and also has a built in expression pedal that is very versatile. The sounds are very impressive. It still is a digital modeler though, so I like to run it through my JSX to get some cool tube action going. You can just plug it in the guitar in and play through the clean channel, or you can plug it in the loop and use the amp's pre-amp to give you the amp tones...

One of the most outstanding features is the dual tone capability, which means you can use two tones at a time. You get two tones per batch and you can run them separately to two different amps if you want!!! You can just use this the way I do it, I just have two versions of the same tone -with different effect and parameters- and switch back and forth...

Also, Line6's customer support is top notch. My POD started to act up after the 90 day exchange period... I contacted them through their site and they fixed it for me, and they also took care of the shipping... That was pretty awesome...

After 5 months of waiting, the computer editing capabilities are finally available, so that's also good... What else??? I can't think of anything right now, so if you have any questions, I'll be here...

Hope this helps...

The Pod X3L had some bugs with the first batch, but they're worked out now. The main problem was X3L users who used Vista. Line6 isn't very reliable when it comes to Vista drivers, but they, finally, released Vista drivers a month or two ago. I'd still be weary when purchasing an X3L since you don't know who has old and/or the latest batch. Be sure to try it out before buying.

I saw Dream Theater's Progressive Nation tour in Universal City last night. Does anyone else have tickets for this? DT, Opeth, Between The Buried And Me, and Three... EXCELLENT show. And I got to hear Blind Faith, my favorite DT song, so that's awesome.

alexandrecaetano - Thanks for telling us about the concert...it sounds like it was amazing. It's good to see Crushing Day is sticking around, at least for a bit. And then there's Time Machine? Crying? Ghosts? Awesome.

Blue_Moon - Yeah, that version of Little Wing is pretty cool. Thanks for sharing it.
LucySorets - Hi...don't be a stranger. ;-)
Guitarman77897 - I think Joe checks up on T2J fairly often...he just rarely posts.

To get pictures off your phone, there's probably a way you can send them to an email address and download them on your computer.

migupais - Thank you for sharing a bit about the Lisbon show, as well...it's always nice to read reviews here.
BigBunny - There might be a few more songs you haven't heard. The original version of The Power Cosmic? Talk To Me? Those are from early in Joe's career and aren't really available anywhere. I have MP3s of them somewhere on my computer...if you haven't heard them let me know and I'll send them your way.
cheese101 - Thanks for finding those YouTube videos. :-)
michelle - Hehehe... The executive director of the Port of Long Beach is named Richard Steinke. Our port reporter knows him pretty well, and every now and then he'll get less formal in his writing and call him Dick. I have to make that change in his stories every now and then...Dick Steinke isn't really something I want to see in the paper.
