Anybody here ever do a triathlon?

If so, how long was yours?

What was your time?

What was your best event of it? Why?

What was your worst event? Why?

For how long did your train?

How did you train?

Was it fun?

Would you do another?

I am thinking of doing one in August - time to train is now (Monday). Just looking for some feed back on your triathlon experience.

Sorry for all the questions - just looking for my next challenge.

I just ran the Indianapolis Mini Marathon this past weekend.

Thanks in advance.

Hi, Joe! I was last May 6 in the concert at the "Palau de la Música", in Barcelona (I live there). I just wanted to tell you that it was an awesome one, because of you and your guys and the place, that is a very special place to us to listen music. The "Palau" is one of the best locations to listen classical concerts and the organ sounds impressively there.

Just to tell you also that it seemed to me that your guitar sounded a litle better in the second half of the concert, while in first part it sounded a little dark and confussing. I'm not a pro, but in my oppinion, too much "overheads" level from the drums and perhaps the bass was a little too much shinny, giving your guitar a little room to sound clear while the chords guitar was already in those frequencies. I would try to darken a very little the bass in the highs and lower a little the overheads while giving your guitar a little more shinny presence, it should give you a better frequency room and presence in the first plane of the overall sound. These kind of theaters, when they are full of people (like it was!) tend to reverb a little more the highs and mig-highs. Moreover, we want to hear your guitar in the very first plane, so, less volume to the rest of the band (sorry guys). :)

I've seen similar problems when Steve Vai comes here, for example, the last one that he putted two violins also, making the overall sound a little mess.

But, hey! Your playing was almost perfect, the band played very well... Your are a good team. You have become a better guitarrist, and composer with the years and this is what we really enjoy.

I got a JS-100 recently just to play some things and I have to say that this king of guitar is just a must! It brings a whole new colour tones and it makes a lot of armonics making it to sound with a specific personality. The other Ibanez's I have and Stratos or Gibsons just CAN'T get that sound.

Well, I have to leave now.

Best wishes and thanks very much for your music!!!

Mike_Muse_Rage - Joe doesn't really mix up the setlists from show to show. He may make a few changes at the end of this leg, but I bet things will remain the same.

The only reason I could think of for the set to change drastically would be if after this leg Joe goes with Brad instead of Stu. Nothing against the new guy, but I hope that doesn't happen...I'm psyched to see Stu again.

What do you mean about the odd performance of Oriental Melody? I'm not aware of Joe pulling that one out at random shows recently...

PhilTheMetalhead - Yeah, they should have a wide variety of shirts and other goodies for sale at the shows.
michelle - Thanks for digging up that old G3 review...it was really cool to read.
Studious - Welcome (back)! :-)
shredguy - What albums are those? How many tracks does Joe play on?

...Austin...

As per my earlier post and video, the cops "thought" one of the guys in the car was a cop killer. Good cop doing his duty to protect gets shot 5 times. Bad cops pull three other shooters from a car and kick the piss out of them thinking it's the cop killer. I understand they were on edge, but fux sake man, get a grip. Here's more...

Liczbinski, who would have turned 40 on Tuesday, was shot responding to the robbery in northeast Philadelphia around 11:45 a.m. Saturday. The suspects opened fire after Liczbinski confronted them a short distance away, shooting the officer at least five times, police said.

Officials have announced a memorial fund for his family.

Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey said officers had been on edge since Liczbinski was shot. In an incident two days later, video taken by a television news helicopter showed three suspects being kicked, punched and beaten after they were pulled out of a car following an unrelated shooting.

Officials said more than a dozen officers would be taken off the street as authorities investigate, and Ramsey said police needed to maintain a high standard of conduct despite the tensions.

Liczbinski was the third city officer slain on duty in two years.

Gun control?? Not here.

People killing people killing people. It's a circlejerk ffs.

Hi to one and all at t2j.....especially Joe and Jon.......ages since i last posted here....

Love me or hate me for what i am going to post, it does'nt matter ...the bottom line is i want all of you to be aware of something......

Guys, especially all of you from America......God is sending out his holy outpouring in your country now via the Florida Healing Revival which has been taking place for the last 37 days in Lakedale. Please check out GOD TV Live everynight from about 7PM US local time or log in top www.god.tv or www.freshfire.com.....................................................................Todd bentley the evangelist with Tatoos and piercings is being used by the Holy Spirit to heal people of all kinds of illness and diseases...God is healing people who are watching Live on Tv or the internet....Yesterday God even cured people via Mobile/cell phones....those present in the arena contacted their sick folks through their cell and as Todd prayed the holy spirit moved and people were healed instantly.......this Revival is the last wave as many biblical researchers believed...the whole World is touched AND THE PRESENCE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IS VERY STRONG EVEN IN PEOPLES HOMES WHERE THEY ARE WATCHING....PEOPLE ARE BEING HEALED BY FAITH JUST BY TOUCHING THE TELEVISION AND PRAYING.

i have a simple request to all of you here including Joe & Jon...do not miss out on the outpouring of the holy spirit and please watch the service at least once....believe me all of you have nothing to lose by watching it but you have everything to gain....

God loves you all and he wants to bless you in this season of HARVEST.

May the Holy spirit move and touch all of you in this opportune time when God is really showing hjis love and kindness to the whole world.

My friends who have any kind of diseases and illness and shortcomings...god is healing people by the hundreds everyday at Lakedale, Florida in the Healing Revival.....God is rocking the world today and not just stadiumd and arenas as Shows do...Be blessed...go get your healing ......the evangelist has a very simple catch phrase that he uses everyday in his meetings....."IF YOU WANT SOME, COME GET SOME"........ My friends go get some of the blessings and healing and touch of our living God who has given us this wonderful and marvellous life that we are living.

Good bye and god bless and be with you all.....

I'm abosultely desolated: I was expecting for years to see a Satriani's gig in Murcia and with my ticket bought, finally, I couldn't go. I'm that kind of Satriani's fans that collected vinyls and cd's from "Not of this Earth", had to overcome a cancer in an arm to start to play my favorite Satriany's songs with a cheap Gio Ibanez when I was 29... and all my illusion lost this Wednesday in the empty seat 19, row 4, in the Auditorio Municipal Victor Villegas. No words to describe how sad i feel these days, specially with my friend told me they had a very good time with an astonishing show. Is it to soon to know or plan new shows around Spain? I hope to could go in a next time so I strongly suggest a next tour through Spain (much better if there's other stop in Murcia or around). Many thanks, Luis

Guys, Just caught your show in Murcia on the 7th May, and felt the need to join the site and post comments... I have been a huge fan of Joe since I first heard 'Always with you, always with me' and have since bought the entire back catalogue of his work. I am a keen guitarist, and after thirty years of playing had got pretty complacent about my abilities. Since hearing Joe I dug in deep again, and after a whole lot of pain finally managed to be able to perform 'Always' and 'Surfing with the Alien' and have taken my playing up to a whole new level - thanks Joe! I got another four guys to join me at the gig, and was seriously looking forward to it for months. Sadly, the gig was a complete and utter tearing disappointment for me and a complete bore for the rest of the guys and here's why ... Take the no1 guitarist in the world, put him together with a brilliant bunch of musicians and a superb venue, and then put some complete and utter a**hole on the sound desk !!! Somebody should point out to this tosser that having the subs so loud that every single kick on the bass drum produces a sonic boom is maybe OK for a rave party in Ibiza, but at a concert where thousands of paying customers are there to hear the master at work it is seriously NOT OK !! I could only hear Stuart playing during his amazing bass solo, and the second guitarist (Sorry, missed your name) could have stayed in the dressing room for all we could hear of him. Joe was just about discernible through the noise, but only when playing above the 12th fret - the rest of the time the whole thing was lost in the noise. In conclusion, the gig was probably the worst I have ever been to, and made even more terrible by my expectations of finally seeing Joe play live. After 20 minutes I was looking at my watch and contemplating heading for the bar. The only reason I didn't was because the bar closed after Joe started up!!! Sorry dude, you are my hero and all, but I doubt if I will bother going to any more more concerts. My friends' last comments to me as we dropped them off at their home was 'Thanks Alan, and if you get any more Satrianin tickets in the future, SELL THEM TO SOMEBODY ELSE' 'Nuff said.
