Wehay,Joe rocked last night and looked like the whole band was having a blast!

Two life-goals were accomplished last night:

1. See Paul Gilbert live
2. See Stuuuuuuuuuuuuu Hamm live

Everything was spot on, although I must say the animation behind the band during "The Mystical Potato Head Groove Thing" was nothing short of disturbing! lol

Thanks Joe for a great night

P.S I caught one of Galen's picks, well I say caught...really I mean it hit me in the shoulder and it took me 2-3 minutes to notice it on the floor. They're VERY snazzy!

Ken:I have t say from the band sound you heard on the podcast in Palau de la music & the sound I heard at the concert was totally different.

The band sound & tone especially Joes where I stood & I moved around ALL parts of the theatre, sounded feckin unbelievable, furthermore...

I took a wee streamy aka “toilet break” as ya do lol n wandered outside for a smoke the opposite side of the bar cuz y couldn’t hear squat there n there was this wee old lady with her dog totally fixated on the sound, I didnt interrupt t speak, but I knew she was there 20 mins at least, because it took me 15mins t swallow my beer in the lil bar opposite & when I came out she was STILL there, I honestly don’t think she had heard music like that b4...really...i mean she was so gone it was... well beautiful

PS if ya add yer best redneck voice t above it y may not wanna read more lmao

On sound, maybe it’s the digital recording era that’s making Joes tone sound cold on cd? I can relate t that with ProTools perfection, but t my ears Joes tone has evolved without question live, its more fluid clear & powerful, have no doubt Joe tone is on fire this time round & the passion is pissin out the man!

I noticed a guy from another part of spain took some friends t wherever & wasn’t exactly happy t put it polite about the sound...well...all I can say is mr agent person, don’t make joe play Raz in Barca again because this time ya got the venue right sir & thx, get the lads back there again!

Zen:Good plan home studio, record all parts as you want, when you are done you can advertise yourself looking for musicians, go on net.....its a jigsaw puzzle made easy, like a dating agency for raw talent...

I,ve never gone there btw, have my line up, relieved t say but best o luck in gettin yer studio set up.

Help is at hand here dont forget bro always!

Hey Everybody..... My Review of the Birmingham gig below.....

Hey, Hey, Hey,

What can I say, what a show....... A Big, BIG Thank You to Joe and the Guys foe such fantastic set list....... I travelled down from Manchester to see the show, it was a lovly day a nice train ride down, and a nice room at the travel lodge 2 mins walk from the venue. We got there, had checked in and was sat eating dinner with a beer over the troad from the venue watching there guys go in and out of the stage door by about 3 in the afternoon...... In the blisstering sun we sat outside by the river with a beer.... Back to the room for a shower on came the Satch T-Shirt and off we went.... Birmingham Symphony Hall is a wonder place, we sat in the bar for about an hour watching people show up... waiting at the doors..... Then it was time..... We found our seats...... Booked late so we where high up in the Grand Tier...... But what a view....... On came Paul G.... Fantastic start to the night......... Then came the man himself.... And What a Show...... It was Awsome...... What a setlist.........

I give Joe 10 out of 10 for the show. The only reason for the 9 is becase of my high/faraway seat where the sound was not its best, and that Crushing Day has been droped for the Europe section of the tour....... I will tak that back if I hear it at the next Shows.......

Manchester Next.... Thursday Baby Yeah.... Yeah... YEAH......... Will be there for the Priemium Package......

Thank You Joe, And The Guys For a Fantasic First Show. See you Thusday.

Take It Easy, Dave x

Slans.....Thax for the editorial about the theater.....lol.....Coming from a construction background I appreciate architecture. That place is beautiful. When Jeff was standing on the stage with his camera.....well the place looks great and I could tell that room has to sound awesome. I love places like that. We have some great theaters like this in Chicago.....Riviera,Aragon Ballroom, Chicago Theater,Congress theater, Uptown theater.....thier all like a 100yrs. old and run down now. I've seen Joe play in each one these theaters and you can just tell back in the day they were beautiful. I was talkin' to my pop about the Aragon a couple of days ago. He's 82 and had his first dance their when he was 16. He told me all those places were the shit back in the day. Back than it was big band stuff which was huge at the time. Time marches on but the theater in Spain kicks ass over these places.

On Joe's tone.....The man is a tone machine. Every song has the perfect tone for the perfect melody line. Joe never stops in these areas. The first time I heard Musterion the hair on the back of my neck stood straight out...lol....That has got to be the best tone or one of the best tones I've ever heard on guitar. It's bitchin',It's sweet, it rips,it attacks, and mellows all in one depending on what Joe plays. God that tone is incredible. Joe's so fluid when he plays and his touch is impeckable which has has a lot to do with it. Hands bring everything out. Amazing musician.......

Hey folks,

Went to Satch's concert in Geneva, Switzerland last Friday with wife, 2 teenage boys and some fellow musicians (I used to say I played guitar... but...)

Mind you, I have all of his albums and really know his work well. I liked a few songs from Musterion but I was hoping to hear a lot of older works. I have seen him on several DVDs, but nothing compares to live. He blew us all away (as did Steve and Stu: his solo was amazing).

To my surprise, the tracks off the lastest album were high points. Andalucia really rocks. Since hearing them at the concert, the new album has become one of my favorites, along with Blue Dream, Extremist...

OK, the mixing table work could have been better: it took them 5 or 6 songs to get it right. Still, I've been going to rock concerts for over 40 years and I really didn't expect to be blown away.

Joe Satriani is truely a master of guitar technique but also of melody.

I can't wait until the next time he's back in the neighborhood.
