Hi all, I am checking the tour PODCASTS - great funny stuff which gives a reasonable impression of the tour and the setlists...thanks for the nice imagesfrom Joe, Jeff, Galen and Stu (happy Stu is the bass player on this tour - a real Bass-a-funkulus) I am counting down for D-day (wednesday 28 th in Brussels) - all Satch Fans from other continents should come over here and smell the spirit of Europe (and of course taste our beers.....approx 400 brands to choose from ! :) I am looking forward to see what Club Joe will be like ! Oh, I finally have a lefty Ibanez Prestige series (RG1570 SDB) with a DiMarzzio PAF PRO and FRED -pffffff great sound ! A pitty Ibanez supplies no lefty JS-series. To all Fans that will be in Brussels Wednesday - let's enjoy and have the time of our life ! Joe : ROCK the ROYAL CIRCUS - show my wife and daughter why I am a real Satch fan :) Cheers

to Tuesdayschild : Victoria, I have read your post and must say I was really emotionnal about it ! A sad story. I am happy you find your comfort in Music and in particular in Joe's Music (with a BIG "M"). Music can be very emotionnal, there is nothing that can move as much in people as music can. Musical notes in the right order (that is the art of it of course) can give you that touch and that is what makes Joe's Music so different from other music. We are all fans and must support and comfort each other, like a big family. Nice to read your sons are big Satch fans too, that is what I call education ! Know what : when you get up in the morning do as I do, put REVELATION on - loud as it can get and enjoy it, rock the house - the boys will love it ! Share the energy with the kids and all will be OK ! take care and enjoy each and every day !

Hi Joe, WOW me and two friends were at the nottingham arena on thursday 21.5.08 what a performance you and the boys gave us the place was rocking. I have listened to you for years but never seen you play live how, do you play that well for a good 3 hour gig . It tells you something i brought 2 friends along who are not into this sort of music i had to pay for the tickets when i looked round at them they were rocking with you. I saw them the following day and they had bought every one of your cds they have got more than me now. Why do people boo at stu his base solo was brilliant. Its a shame the venue didn't like us getting a photo of you thats a bit mean. We can't wait till you tour england again. I hope there is going to be a live dvd of your tour. have a great tour thumps up from engalnd ;)

Marcrainey - Thanks for posting those videos. The Time Machine one is very cool.

So tell us a bit about yourself. What are some of your favorite Satch songs? How'd you get into his music? What other stuff are you into?

Igneousiceman - There used to be a lot of Rush discussions here a few years ago. I guess most of those people are no longer regular posters here, but Rush discussions are still just as on topic as anything else here. ;-)

I think Moving Pictures is an excellent album...it's just not at the top for me. I agree with you about it's production though...it's one of the best there. At the moment, Grace Under Pressure is my least favorite of the albums in my favorite Rush era (Signals through Presto), but it contains some of my favorite songs. I think Between The Wheels would make my top five, and I also like Kid Gloves quite a bit.

Anyway, I love all of Rush's music, but the Signals-Presto period is my favorite because I think it's the most unique when compared to music as a whole. 70s Rush (I guess I should extend this to 1981) and classic prog aren't all that different, and the same goes for 90s/00s Rush and modern hard rock. Does that make sense?

I'm not sure if I can relate to what you said about liking one or two songs off each album immediately, but maybe that's just due to how I got into Rush (all at once). One thing I've noticed that's very cool, though, is how the last track on each of their albums seems to fit perfectly with their next album. This is really noticeable if you load all of their music onto your computer or MP3 player and listen chronologically. The ones that stick out most to me are Vital Signs/Signals, Mystic Rhythms/Hold Your Fire, High Water/Presto, and La Via Strangiato/Permanent Waves. It really works everywhere though...I mean, chronologically, even The Fountain Of Lamneth and 2112 are back to back.

If you had to make a top 5 or top 10 list of Rush albums, what would they be? I think I have an idea based on what you've already said, but I guess I like lists. ;-)

js1200js1000 - Cool...what kind of car?
metalh_dd - Last year's G3 wasn't professionally recorded, so there won't be a CD/DVD.

Your name seems really familiar to me for some reason. Have we met at a gig? Did you ever live in Long Beach, or maybe go to CSULB? Hmmm...

Gogs - I believe Joe wears Project Alabama hats. I don't know if that's the name of a store, company, brand, model, or whatever...but that's the name he's mentioned in interviews.
michelle - Perhaps I should bring back "It is Stu, not boo"...? ;-)
Ibanezplyr - It's good to hear that you're doing a bit better. Keep us posted.

What do you think of PSATMOR, by the way? I don't recall hearing your opinion on it...

...Austin...

DoTheStu: Interesting that people who listen to Joe's music like Rush as well...(huge generalisation I know) With regards to all you said, I do understand what you mean--you prefer the more 'Rushy' Rush...if that makes sense?! Top 5 is hard...although in no particular order; Grace Under Pressure, Snakes and Arrows, Test For Echo, Counterparts, Signals....ah! Past 5...No can't do it =D But I find what you say very interesting...I don't really like the 'proggy' stuff, but I quite like the more modern stuff...=D

Hey Joe, Just watched the new Podcast. Hillarious as always! Very classy move promoting your opening band. I know very little about the ins and outs of the music industry, but it seems that kind of class is really lacking in the rock industry...or its hard to find. Love the work and really appreciate what you do for music and your fans. Can't wait until you release the US tour dates for the Satchifunkilits. By the way, I have been looking at buying the JS1000 series...but I have been trying to find out what kind of frets are on that guitar. There isn't one in stock at my local Guitar Center, so I haven't been able to try it out for myself. Thanks.

Hi Joe

I cant say how much I like your music. I have about every CD of yours and your live DVD. If you get a chance to read this, can you please post the next time you are touring in the States. I know about 20 or so full songs by you, and I am working on more. I cant wait to play them on my new gibson les paul that I am getting. I am doing a performance pretty soon with Ceremony. I have already performed Ten Words. Keep Rockin!

Do The Stu: Hey no problem, I've posted a few more links below, they're too good not to share! Big shout out to Exbarmen for the vids in the first place :) Well what can I say, I'm Mark and from Belfast in good old Northern Ireland. I've been a big fan of Joe for the past 15 years or so, it was actually my dad who initially let me hear my first track. I remember it like it was yesterday, it was War off the Extremist album, and from that day I never looked back! I own every released Album and DVD and 6 weeks ago I realised a dream and got myself a JS1200 especially for the meet and greet with Joe at the Belfast show! I've posted a link to a pic of it signed and doodled on by Joe below :D Favorite Joe songs is a tough one as they are all great but I would say in no particular order: Always with me Always with you, Summer Song, Flying in a blue dream, I Believe, Surfing with the alien, Revelation, Circles, The mystical potato head groove thing, Rubina, I believe, One big rush, Super colossal, Out of the sunrise, Driving at night, Ceremony, I guess that would pretty much be my top 15. Apart from that I' into pretty much any good guitar music, Pink floyd, SRV, The Deans, Foo Fighters, GnR, Chili Peppers, Jose Gonzales, Joe Bonamassa, pretty much anything! LOL!

Hybes the JS 1000 series has W/6105 frets :)

Live in Belfast links below:

Michelle - wow, thanks for posting that Stu vid. Joe is talking to Stu about me on it!!! That's SO cool. Made my day you has! Thanks for posting that (it's just after one minute in). I definitely was a kid back then Joe, maybe still am LOL

What I hope that confirms is that he read all our messages (because I put a reminder about the first time we met).

Thanks Chelle xxx

Do The Stu - sorry for the long delay. The first 28 songs of my setlist are the actual set (not that I'm greedy!), with the encore starting at Crowd Chant

The song I listen to least is Woodstock Jam, BUT every now and again I put it on and try to imagine the guys just exploring. I don't dislike it if that makes sense. Entirely predictable song choice I'm sure.

To have only one or two unpopular songs out of over 150 is amazing I think!

My favourite album would probably be Musterion. Give me another day and it'll be Surfing, then Crystal Planet, ITLIS, The Extremist. That's a good point about a favourite and the best, but I think Musterion covers it all using those criteria.

P.S I wasn't aware of NOTE being played in the early days, and to have missed it on the CP tour... both of us missed it? Darn... better start plugging for it on the next tour LOL

Bet everyone else is asleep now ; )

Anibur - what row were you in Bristol?

JS1200JS1000 - what car you gettin sir?

Blue Moon - I think I should do an Ireland gig next time. Maybe get the lowdown from you and Cheese. Nice pics, especially considering the photo police.... as for Joe's mics, surely they be these?

Cheese - wow, what a nasty start to the trip, luckily it got sorted pretty quick. That's some great "road" stories you have there, really looking forward to the visual treat you've got lined up. I'll get back to responding to everyones emails now I'm almost caught up with everything post Satch.

Igneousiceman - thanks for the suggestions on amps. I'm completely undecided at the moment. Prob need to go try a few (or a lot!).

njbeast - yep, sorry again, I figured I might bump back into you at the interval. Deffo next time, I'll be more organised.

Setlist - I know someone asked for the set list but I can't find the post. I put it on one of my gig reviews (check Bristol/Bournemouth/Cardiff), definitely the right tracks if nothing else lol

Have a great day everyone
