Just sitting here reading the funny chats and listening to Prof Satch's new CD for about the 20th time. I just got it on my ipod 2 weeks ago and am just amazed! It is quickly becoming my favorite of all. Amazing stuff on this CD Joe! Your life songs are always EXTREMELY AMAZING!! I hope to have the honor of seeing this live someday. Come to Oklahoma! The Sooners are in need of the Satchifunkilitis!! As always, thanks for the efforts

Hi Joe,

I love the new CD! Any chance that you'll be coming to Calgary Alberta in the near future? You haven't been here since "Blue Dream" tour. I have many friends that are dying to see you perform here.

Cheers! Jeff

Joe,

I've been a guitarists since I was about 11, alot of musician's have inspired me such as, Joe Perry, Richie Blackmore, Michael Schenker, but you are my favorite and more recently than ever since you have grown more into your own style.

Recently a good friend and a great musician friend of mine was killed in a auto accident (I was folowing behind him when it happened), they just finished a gig and they played so well to an appreciative crowd, well I dedicated one of your songs to him at the wake "Love Thing". It is such a beautiful song, so melodic and almost sends me to tears everytime I play it. Could you play it for my friend Sean Wilhoite and maybe even dedicate it to our "good friendship"? He was such a great musician you would have enjoyed jaming with him if you could have met him.

I love your recent CD. Keep playin' it to the bone!

Mona

I've been away for nearly a week...work has been busy and then I went up to Santa Cruz for a few days. I'll probably end up commenting on a lot of old posts, but oh well... ;-)

loll - I agree with you on most of your least favorite songs. I don't have a problem with Woodstock Jam, but I Just Wanna Rock and Super Colossal are probably my least favorites from their albums (although Crowd Chant comes close...I think I'd like that one a lot more if it ended up being the Party On The Enterprise that Joe wanted originally).

I disagree about your least favorite album. PSATMOR is currently my third favorite...Crystal Planet is second and ITLIS? is first. I get what you're saying about the "drum machine" feel, but to me it seems the drumming on PSATMOR is the most creative since at least SBM.

What are your favorite Satch albums?

pmxgs - Bells Of Lal is one of my favorites as well. I'd love to hear it live, especially now that Stu is in the band again...at least for now.

Welcome to the site, by the way...tell us a bit about yourself. How'd you get into Satch? What are some of your favorite songs/albums?

alka seltsa - Hi...welcome to the site! :-)
savoie2008 - I like Joe's vocals when he is truly and honestly singing, but the examples of that are few and far between. I don't like the bluesy growl (for lack of a better description) that he does in Big Bad Moon or many of the G3 jam songs. Joe said something in an interview a few years ago that an A&R guy told him that those songs were his best vocally. Joe seemed to agree, but I couldn't disagree more. That's how I see it, though...and I don't think Joe's at a point in his career where he could start singing again.
I have 234 posts to go, but I figure I'll stop here because these comments may lead to a few larger discussions... I'll try to finish catching up tomorrow...

...Austin...

wooley, anibur, mckenna, jamie and michelle, thanks ;) Believe me, I WAS freakin over my luggage, but doing my freak-out alone in my room...needed violins and everything, lol!!

Mckenna, now yer being awfully nice to me, I'm suspicious, LOL....I promise not to go too wierd on you, but it's in my nature anyway to be retarded sooooo....can't help that. And what....STERLING??? Now I hafta get another kind of monies???? FFS it's so confewzing!! Sigh....just bring me some and I'll buy it from u :) Your pic with Joe looked great btw, nothing wrong with it! I'm taking my camera tonight too, hope security isn't on a power-trip!!

So.....I'm walking along the Dublin streets last night and see a place called a "Bookmakers" store. I'm thinking to myself, ooooo, I'm almost through the book I brought with me for the plane (told ya I dint sleep on the plane much, with crying babies, noisy flight attendants and a crazy lady :) so I'm thinkin I'll go into the Bookmaker's store and have a look around, see if anything catches my eye to buy....well....

Yeah, so everyone else prolly already knows it's not a damn bookstore but a place where you can bet on stuff...ffs....I'm living up nicely to the "retarded American" image, eh?

I smell beer wherever I go here.....

And it's freakin busy...tons of traffic on the streets, the buses would kill ya if they get ya, standing on a corner idn't even safe cuz they come so close!!! And people walking everywhere, all the time!! Lots of shouting going on outside last night too, just friendly sounding stuff, but no one talks at a normal volume it seems, LOL!!!

I kept hoping I'd see Joe just casually wandering around the streets like I was last night :) Kept my eyes open for the bucket hat but no sightings :) Hopefully he was tucked up safe and sound in his nice hotel room, doing whatever he does in between gigs for entertainment, or rest. I dunno how Joe does it, keeps up such a schedule on tour without complete exhaustion setting in early on. Amazing!! I suppose u get used to it.

Kay, time to hit the shower and get ready for the show tonight...I had a hard time figuring out the heater in my room, think the shower will be any easier? I think not!!! :)

Catch ya all later!

Apologies to joe- After a fantastic meet and greet with Joe in Cardiff, i feel the urge to write an apology, this is due to a missunderstanding with regards the use of camers at the gigs. Prior to the meet and greet, Joe's PA said that small camera's are fine and to "click away" but in my case i had a small camera, but it was a video camera! BIG mistake. I was frog marched to the side of the stage and verbally given a good talking too, when i tried to explain that we were told earlier that small camera's were ok, it was pointed out NOT video camera's. Even though the little footage i shot was only ever intended for private use with no thought of anything else, i can understand the reasons. So, once again Joe i am very sorry for this
