Hello, Mr. Satriani,

You´re probably never going to read these lines but I´ll write them anyway, cause I really feel the need to do it. My name´s Alberto and I had the privilege to meet you in Madrid last 5th of May. I was the winner of Meet & Greet aftershow passes web contest and I was so excited about it (At last I could meet the man who totally changed my life with his music). Unfortunately, I was so nervous and thought I was going to be the only one allowed to come backstage, that when I saw all those guys with VOX T-shirts, I thought there wouldn't be time left to have a short chat with you. Finally, I could greet you and meet you. Despite of the thousands of questions I´ve always wanted to ask you, my shyness only allowed me to ask you to sign the poster I bought a few minutes earlier, as well as my T-shirt, and of course, taking a picture of you and I together. I must apologize for asking you to sign and pose for a photograph so quickly without having talked to you too much, but IT MEANS SO MUCH TO ME TO HAVE A PHOTO WITH YOU, AND SOMETHING SIGNED BY YOURSELF, that I didn't want to miss the oportunity. Now, I apologize because of that, but I want you to know that I had a lot of questions I wanted to ask you, after you spoke with the couple from Valencia, such as "Do you think 21 is too old to begin playing guitar?" - I´m 27 now and I´ve been playing electric guitar since I was 21. "Do you think time-travelling is possible?" - I do think it´s possible, I´ve been thinking so since I listened to your "Time Machine" for the very first time. -- I also would have liked to ask you for a good tip on vibrato, as I can't make my wrist to move fast enough to execute an even and wide vibrato. -- Anyway, there are thousands and thousands of questions like this, but I also understand how hard is travelling around the world, without taking too many breaks, that´s also why I wanted to do everything quickly, to respect your rest. (Too many hours on the road, many countries to visit...) Finally, I want to thank you for your music, WHICH MAKES MY LIFE WORTHWILE, I LOVE YOUR MUSIC AND YOU TAUGHT ME THROUGH IT MOST OF WHAT I KNOW, YOU'VE HUGELY INFLUENCED ME WITH YOUR MUSIC, AND ALSO BECAUSE OF THE WONDERFUL PERSON YOU ARE. THANKS AGAIN, I HOPE TO SEE YOU HERE IN SPAIN AGAIN SOON! BEST WISHES.

Hey,

I went to see Joe last night in Cardiff. Couldn't fault any of the tunes but it was just too loud. It's not death metal, you know, all these guys can play but from the outset, Paul Gilbert's tracks kind of melted into a mass of noise at points. Iwanted to shoot the sound technician. Such a shame. The beauty of their music is the effect that certain transitions can have upon the ear and unfortunately, especially for Gilbert, a lot of that was lost because the sound guy was a metalhead and didn't understand that we wanted to hear the notes. I'll see y'all again, maybe at a bigger venue next time though, or outdoors. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaargh

I guess it isn't helped by the fact that I have superman's hearing but come on Cardiff, I was sitting next to another random die-hard fan who actually went to the tech guy after Gilbert's set and mentioned it and he did nothing! Please can I do it next time?

Seriously Joe, you and yours were awesome but that damn sound guy, why I oughta....

Joe & team - thanks again for some great memories, fantastic shows, and for spending a little time with me and my nearest & dearest. Hope you guys liked the gift box. Just a small thanks for everyones kindness!

Afternoon all! I have the Satchafunkilitis! It's a good disease, but the withdrawal is pretty harsh! No more gigs = : (

So what's with the complaints about sound peeps? It's a rock concert... aren't they always just a little loud? The kind of loud where if you do it too often you get Pablo Gilberto ear!

At the three gigs I hit, from three different seats, the mix sounded close to the same every night, and all three venues were different, so I'd say pretty good job all round....

For me, both on the SC and PSATMOR tours, Cardiff had the best sound, and I think the guys love it there too

Blue Moon - so that was you at the end of the show (two guys chatting to Mike - you red top)? Thought the face looked familiarish. Woulda come over for a chat if I was more certain. Cool show huh, did you think the sound was cack?

Rocking Goddess - I second Wooleymans comment - your linky, it not work

Cheese - you have to go the gigs. Hope you make it. It's absolutely the best band line up ever (for me anyway), and they're gonna love to see you

Satriellla, 962, NJBeast, Jon, Sylv, MaxiMagnet, and "random lady who's name I didn't get : p - nice to meet you all at various points over the three nights... and NJ - sorry it was only a quick hi, had to check the folks were ok.

Hope to post some more photos later, and I've been trawling the "guitar tapes" so may inflict that too

Have a great day y'all

Brian, thanks....I'm all packed and have done everything I can to be ready, at least physically. Now I wait and see, plane leaves tomorrow....

castle49, thanks for the good wishes and the info, that's cool....you enjoy your show too!!

Joe Satrini, I'm trying, tomorrow will tell the tale but I imagine I'll be on the plane. Glad you had such a great time at all your shows, but yeah, now it's post-Satchifunkilitis depression...PSD....you must work through it. Looking forward to your pics and the "goin turkey" explanation when you have time, lol!

Off to work I go.....too much to do and not nearly enough time to get it all done before being gone a whole week........

Hey Joe,

I'm a music student at college right now in my sophomore year. I'm a music education major and my principle instrument is trumpet, but I've also been playing guitar since high school...I actually practice guitar a lot more than trumpet so I guess I'm a bad student. =P

Anyways, I want to go on to get my masters in music performance with a focus on guitar, and I guess I have a rather silly question - do you still offer lessons/would you be willing to teach me? I learned a good amount of what I know about guitar from your music, and it would be truly amazing to get lessons from a musician with half the knowledge and talent that you have.

I apologize if I'm being unrealistic, but I thought it would certainly be worth it to ask. You're awesome and you inspire me to keep playing - thank you so much!!

~Matt

REVAN:I meant t say, dont waste time on watching youtube vids of unidentified phenomena, its full of nutcases, my advice is if you are interested enough, listen t what the ex military/astronauts peeps have t say about it.

Colonel Phillip Corso is your best bet. Before he died he wrote a book The Day After Roswell, buy it, Its a book you wont put down.I swear on my familys life this is as close as you will prolly get t what really happened, a headbust of a read

If you have time youtube him but be patient on part one, part 2 onwards is great, its the real deal no doubt about it!

I find it frustrating this is not taken seriously by the public.God bless those people that have first hand knowledge that every day are laughed at & ridiculed for speaking openly about it for the first time

hi Joe! I'm sorry for writing so late but I couldn't log in earlier. I'm from Portugal and I just want to say that I loved your concert in "Coliseu do Porto"! That was really amazing! You are my favorite guitarist and your concert was the best I've ever seen! I went there with my cousin and his favorite music is The Extremist he loved too the concert but when you left the stage he was a little bit sad XD but no problem even I think that is impossible, the next time will be even better! I just want to say that I play guitar six years ago and it's my passion! and you are one inspiration for me! Thank you! So, goodbye and continue being the guitarist that you are! for me your the best of all time! I'm steel dreaming to be like you in the future and I know that I have a life time to do it but...that's ok, I will never quit! Thank you again!
