so did ya try a cup of tea and hob nob biscuit on your tour of eire and northern ireland?

love jeff becks who else cd, hes so expressive, the tone on blast from the east is surperb.ive ordereded another cd of his.

random animal welfare info. the rabbit is britains most neglected pet. greyhounds are the uks most mistreated dog breed alot of which is to do with the racing. horror stories of failed racers being hung and drowned are sadly very true. kinda annoys me, sorry to get all heavy, but the more people who know ,hopefull the better it will get for animals. greyhounds are possibly the oldest breed of dog, recorded as early as ancient egypt.

Ummm, what's a hob nob biscuit? And no, no tea yet, been drinking some coffee trying to stay on my feet, LOL!!!

Just got done wandering about the streets of Dublin....it's so crazy here, the traffic, plus I'm not paying attention like I should so......lol, not a good combination!! Did you know that cars will drive right up onto sidewalks here ffs!!!!

Okay....so I stopped at a cafe' and had some food, couldn't figger out what everything was so settled for some Irish breakfast at about 2 pm today....and tried the little dark brown hockey puck looking things...ummmm, I don't know what they are and maybe I don't want to know what's in them...but I tried them at least :) Someone asked me if I wanted a banger and I said no :| Just thought I should play it safe cuz I had no idea what that was, lol!!

Oh, I forgot to mention about last night, picks were flying and do you know, with all the Joe-shows I've been to, neither myself nor my son have ever caught a pick...in fact I don't even try now cuz there's always some tall guy who reaches over my head if one comes our way. But anyway, a few picks went in front of the barricade so people were having the security guards run and pick them up for them, nice right? Well, one guy was shown where a pick was and instead of giving it to the fan who spotted it, pocketed it himself and got an evil grin on his face. A POX ON HIM I SAY!!!

But anyways, after the show, Mckenna and Michelle (Irish Michelle) and I ended up in a bar, and as we walked in a guy walks up to me and says "Did you ever get a pick?" I laughed and told him nah, I didn't, so he hands me a pick he'd gotten at the show :))) That was so kind of him!! I'm going to give it to Chris, he'll be thrilled!! And on the pick it does say "Professor Satchafunkilus and the MYsterion of Rock!" It's mispelled, LOL!!! Love it!

I got a lovely hug from Mick outside the Dublin venue, he looked at me standing there and said "what in the world are YOU doing here!!" LOL....I tole him that I was there for them of course!!

Did I already say that people here have been very friendly? It's lovely....Al told me last night that I'm "too friendly", cuz he was going to come up and say hi to me in line at the Belfast show outside the theater, but that I was surrounded by too many people, laughing and talking and he couldn't get through, lol!! We're all just big Satch fans so you can't help but gab away the hours standing in line.

Ned Evett, if you happen to check in here and read the messages, this is Tracie and we met after the show in Belfast. I believe in love, it's the only thing that really matters, so I'm going to say a prayer for you and your special lady that everything works out for you both :) Hope you can both follow your hearts!!

Can't believe the shows are all over all ready, and I'm about to fly back home....I'm thinking of not even going to bed tonight, cuz I need to be up and outta here before 4 am...scared I won't make the flight in time. I'm thinking of leaving a wake-up call, but at this hotel....well, lets just say it's not the best hotel ever, LOL....

Oh and Joe, I've had the same experience as you....the shower....the water goes outside the tub FFS!!! Why is it that the tub only has half a door, and a sign hanging that says Please Close Shower Door...and then when u turn on the water it goes out the part that has no door ANYWAY!!! It don't make nooooooooooo sense, nu uh, not one bit, LOL! I hope for the rest of the tour your showers are better, and your rooms are peaceful and quiet so you can rest. Hugs to ya Joe, and all the gang, and thanks again for two kick-ass shows in Ireland....they ALL want you back ASAP!!!

But I'll see you in the fall for the US tour, woo woo! ;)

I'm finally caught up again...woohoo!

Igneousiceman - Ah, Rush... I'm in a talkative mood, so here you go:

Hold Your Fire is probably my second favorite Rush album (Power Windows is No. 1).

I think the lyrics on HYF are some of Neil's best (Prime Mover, Time Stand Still, Mission), and to me this album is the peak of my favorite style of Neil's drumming. I love how he starts relatively simple with the first verse and chorus, and then each time one of those parts comes back around he adds a new dimension to the section or makes a fill more complex...he keeps building and building throughout the song. I think Prime Mover is the best example of this, and Time Stand Still and Force Ten are good as well.

I like Test For Echo a lot, but if I made a list of favorite Rush albums it'd be somewhere in the middle (it's a "good" middle...a second level of my favorites that also includes Moving Pictures, Hemispheres, and A Farewell To Kings).

I remember hearing the title track on the radio in 1996 when it was new. I liked it, but I didn't know too much about the band back then so it felt weird to hear the DJ hype it as much as he did (I had the same reaction to Van Halen's Human's Being, from the Twister soundtrack, earlier that same year). I like everything on TFE about the same, but my favorite songs on it are probably Totem and Dog Years. And one last thing about it...if there were a "90s albums by older bands" category, this album would be toward the top. Rush doesn't fall into the traps of too drastically reinventing their sound or, at the other end, staying stuck in the past.

I have more to say (as if I haven't already said enough...ha!), but I'll wait for your response... What are a few of your favorite Rush albums?

hybes - I doubt any Chickenfoot stuff would interfere with Joe's US leg of the PSATMOR tour... We'll just have to see how the scheduling works out.
tombogue - They didn't professionally record any of the G3 shows with Paul Gilbert.
REVAN 2008 - No, I'm not the forum moderator...I just have a lot of friends here. ;-)

Thanks for the Muse suggestions. I tried to listen to a few songs of theirs a couple of years ago and wasn't too impressed. But I'll try to find the ones you mentioned...

It's cool to hear that you were listening to Aerosmith's Rocks. That band was my first favorite. Love 'em still...

loll - "A lot of artists have been caught out after signing a contract with work for hire terms."

I don't know if I'd call it "caught out", I think it's more just that some people expect things that they aren't entitled to. To mention another example, I bet this is what all the fighting from Ozzy Osbourne's former bandmates comes from. They were probably only ever hired as session musicians with either a one-time payment or royalty payments for a limited time, and now they want more. I don't know any specifics of course, but it wouldn't surprise me at all if this is true.

Marcrainey - Hi...welcome to the site! :-)
cheese101 - It's cool to hear that you had a good time at the shows. And thanks for telling me about Out Of The Sunrise...of all the new stuff, I think that's the one I'm looking forward to most. Let me know if you decide not to put your video up on YouTube...at a minimum I'd like to see if you can send it to me over AIM or something. I know you posted one that isn't yours, but hey...I'll take all of it that I can get. ;-)

Does Stu still have a solo in the set? Is it similar to the one that's up on YouTube? Is he still doing LZ's Going To California?

...Austin...
