Keniko - I guess it just bugs me to hear that Jeff and Matt record their parts while listening to the original demo and a click track. I like them so much that I want them to have a greater role in the creative process...like when the demos are actually being created. I guess that just isn't practical though, with the way Joe writes his music.

I do like how the PSATMOR songs seem to "breathe" a bit more than the Super Colossal ones did. SC doesn't hold my interest as well as most other Satch albums, and I think that's why.

I don't want to sound like I'm complaining too much, though...PSATMOR is my third favorite Satch album.

Blue_Moon - I only saw Tracie in the podcast for a split second or so. She's at the very end of the last crowd shot, I believe. I saw you several times, though.
G3 electric mat - I don't know if you'll be able to find the CD/DVD version of PSATMOR in any stores (in the US or abroad). But you can buy it online here: http://www.cduniverse.com/productinfo.asp?pid=7641203
hybes - OK, I may have lied...now that I'm thinking about it, I don't remember if SRV is actually playing with Joe on the song. But it's a Hendrix cover at the end of the MTV Unplugged episode. I think it was michelle or cheese101 who posted it. Does anyone still have the link? I don't even remember the name of the cover they did.

Shinedown were awesome when they opened for Van Halen. VH was hit and miss on that 2004 tour...Sacramento was one of the good nights, so no, Shinedown didn't blow them away. But they were definitely a tough act to follow.

They actually weren't the original choice for the opening band. Sammy wanted Soul Sirkus to open a run of VH West Coast shows, but Eddie said no (presumably because Soul Sirkus grew out of Planet Us, which Sammy and Mikey were in). I don't know if Eddie's ego just couldn't handle it, or what. But I was disappointed going into the show because I wanted that opening band. So I was pleasantly surprised to see that Shinedown ROCKED. I even caught a stick from their drummer.

I wrote a review and posted it on T2J back when the show happened...I'll have to dig it up and post it so you can see what my original thoughts on Shinedown were. I remember my review being short on adjectives, though...so if I don't like it I think I'll keep it to myself. ;-)

I haven't had time to check out Candlebox yet, but they're still on my list. Thanks for the reminder.

loll - Shinedown have only recorded three albums. Leave A Whisper is their first, Us And Them is their second, and The Sound Of Madness is their third...but it isn't released until June 24.

Us And Them is my favorite of the first two...but if you're a bit unsure about trying that one, maybe wait until their new one comes out...at that point, maybe reviews will help you decide which one to get.

Funny that you mention Alter Bridge... They were the opening band the second time I saw Shinedown (Three Doors Down headlined). I thought they were good musically, but I wasn't too impressed with their singer. Maybe he just had an off night, I don't know...but I haven't bothered to check out any of their music. They did do an excellent cover of Led Zeppelin's Rock And Roll at the show, though.

Tuesdayschild - There are link-posting instructions below the box where you type posts...
purple bear - I responded to your question last time. Make an effort to read the board instead of mindlessly copying and pasting the same message again and again.
cheese101 - Thanks for the Stuuu update. I'm being picky, but I'm a bit bummed to see that Stu isn't tapping out the Always... rhythm guitar part on this tour like he's done in the past...::sniffle::.

...Austin...

Sure Mckenna and I'll be right over...no sis, no parents, u KNOW there's gonna be a party at some point next week :)

Austin, you Stu/bass whore you :))) Just be thrilled that he's gonna tour with Joe fer a bit and count yer blessings, lol....oh, and you can actually see me a few times in the podcast as Joe skims past...I'm shorter than all the guys around me and wearing a salmon-colored blouse, at the barricade to the right. Woo woo, I was there, lol....

As for the MTV unplugged stuff...

here is I Believe

and May This Be Love

Joe played one more song for that particular show, but I lost that particular brain cell at the moment, and couldn't find it on youtube...but no, he never got the chance to play with Stevie. Sad.

Blue Moon: You said: "... the song is The mighty turtle head, I remember reading some Yngwie Malmsteen thing ages ago about he heard that song said the gutiar was outa tune it was boring and full of jus pentatonic licks, ha ah well... "

Yeah, and that must be why guys like Hendrix and pretty much every other inventive and influential guitarist out there are so inferior to dear old Yng. D'ya reckon? Ha! But did he really say that? Hmmm...

Me? I love The Mighty Turtle Head; it's a sublime piece of music. Thank goodness for Joe's sense of tuning and pentatonics! :o)

Do The Stu: Thanks for the Shinedown info. Very useful.

Oh, I reckon there might be a very good reason why Purple Bear can't recall whether he posted his question or not! ;o)

Your concert in Prague was great!!!! It was very amasing to see you and your band! Please come back soon! Iīm very pleasant to know Glen Halen toke effect at me as well-being guy, compliments to him! :o) Bass solo was amazing too. (But And I wish, that my son will be good player as you. He is 17 years old. He has tallent play guitar and feeling for melodic music. Itīs for me better than technique of Yngwie Malmsteen or Steve Vai. Their songs are about technique play and during two or tree songs I thing that is the same way. I donīt describe in English . But It itīs only my opinion. I didnīt have so much patience to practise play guitar and drill singing at adolescence age as my son. I wish you inspiration, Good Luck to alll!!! Enjoy world tour!!!

Joe, I will visit your concert at June 12, in Arnhem, Rijnhallen. There is one song that always makes me emotional and so happy at the same time, because i think it is the best song ever written in the music history.

If I could fly.....

I hope you will play this song, so i wil be the happiest person on the world. My dad plays a fender left handed, and tries to play that song all the time, but sorry to say, his version is crap. I will visit the concert with my dad, so if you could play that song, i will fly away and my dad will be flabbergasted.

See you at June 12.... My favourite: If I could fly.........

Gotta Have Joe - hang in there, it will get better (although it never seems like it at times). Take some solace in Joe's music

JS12001000 - hope they do the job right for ya this time!

Blue Moon - hey McTalent.... nice toons and nice job of perfroming them. Had the chorus to Tsun ' Frwks in my head most of the day yesterday! Sorry to hear about the cat. After a short while I got another one, and having a new le ball of fluff acting stupid was a great help

Alexandre - cool photos. What's the story behind the cool photo of you and Joe at the top?

Cheese - you feeling any better? Hug to you. Those "Bone" vids are great, it's up to number 10 now!? Cool! All these vids and road stuff, ha, we're spoiled...

and I'm late for work now (whoops), too much visual entertainment to fit in...

Have a good day everyone
