O.K. I can't seem to find the questions I ask so I'm going to ask again, I'm not even sure if I posted it or forgot to hit post lol.

I was wondering, Joe, have you or is your music at all influenced by drugs? And are you planning on going to the Gorge at George, WA or the Spokane Arena(better for me, I'm a lot closer) in any U.S. tours? It would rock to see you live, man.

Peace

I thought the free SatchZone lesson was pretty cool. I won't subscribe because I play bass, not guitar, but I bet it'll be informative for a lot of guitarists out there. One complaint I have is that you can't rewind/fast forward, or skip to a specific part. So if you miss something, or if you want to learn a riff note for note you have to watch the clip again and again and again and just wait for the one part you're interested in. That'd get annoying, but as a whole I think this thing is really cool.

REVAN 2008 - LZ has some other "one riff" songs that I like, so I understand that part of how it's supposed to work...I don't know though, Kashmir just doesn't do it for me.

It's cool to see Aerosmith on your list of favorite gigs. You said you don't remember the date, but do you at least know what tour it was?

Colonel Claypool - Hi...welcome to the site. What are some of your favorite Satch songs? How'd you discover his music?
Mahavishnu - At the Rush show I saw last month, I'd say Geddy's voice was the strongest in the four shows I've seen. He's still all over the place with his highest notes, but I guess it's hard to nail that down when you're singing over as much sound as he is.

Ghost Of A Chance was one of my favorite songs at this most recent show, too. It seemed odd to me that they seemed to have that song down better than a lot of the S&A songs they've been playing live every night since last year.

I'd love to see your pictures, once you get them online...

michelle - Whiplash Lightning sounds like it'd be an awesome song title...

The reason why i aksed about you could get lessons from Satch is because he has been a such succesfull teacher!

He teached Steve Vai and Kirk Hammet and more. But Steve Vai and Kirk Hammet is two of the worlds best guitarists!!

So he must be a good teacher!!!

I just waned to know if he still teach people (Give lessons to people)

PS: I dont want lessons because i want to sound like Satch but because i want be just as good!!

I have made a few songs myself and i have only been playing since december. Alot of people tells me that im really talented!

chadley, she got it from the SatchZone lesson at workshop live....I posted the link yesterday to it, and if you put in the codeword of boogie, you can see the whole first lesson for free. After that, u gotta pay, but from what I can see, if someone wants to really learn stuff and especially learn it from Joe, it's well worth the small fee per month. :)

Try the free lesson, there's good stuff there!

chadley, I'm standing here looking at Joe's pedal board. I'm on tour with the band. I had the day off and figgered what the hell, might as well fly out to Milan and hang out. So yeah, that's how I know the pedal set-up.

;-)

Austin, it IS a nice title. I'll let you write me a song with it. lol! As for PB, stop wasting yer words. He doesn't read anything anyway. It must be the drugs? lol!

HI all, just sitting here taking a little break and eating a piece of frozen banana split pie.

I've been studying all afternoon for my 1st final since 1992 in Earth Science. There was a reason It didn't interest me when I was in high school and that was the teacher, he was an old school old man, who would stand front and center and play marble hockey with his hands in his pockets.

This was a 12-week course in Plate tectonics, Glaciers, Sand dunes adn deserts, Groundwater and finishing off with Geologic time, I get it, it's just alot of info. Then I get a few days off, of no homework and I start backup next Thursday.

So as always I'm always in here reading posts, just don't always post. Take care everyone, my pie is melting and my book and brain are getting heavier.

Heeeeyyy, Joe...

What's up with Stu gettin booed? This is the second time I've noticed the mixed cheer/boo: the most recent on The tour podcast 5 and the first on the first G3 dvd (w vai and ej). What the hell?

Other than his short shorts and shiny glam shirts on past tours, I don't understand the reasoning behind the jeers. I don't mean to bring up a touchy subject, but it's kinda obvious now having been released on film twice now.

Just wondering. I personally don't get it.

Do The Stu: if that advice to Purple Bear works I'll eat my Satch hat! :D

RyTunes: It's not Boo it's Brew! Stu has a home brew kit and has been known to share some of the resultant nectar with the audience - but only if they B-R-E-W him loudly enough!

Chipwrecked: You just need some decent concert plugs. Check out some Mack's Hi-Fi ear plugs. They are pretty inexpensive and offer a noise reduction rating of 12dBs. Every concert goer should have some form of ear protection to hand just in case. I learnt the hard way and now have tinitus - I lost my plugs for just one show which turned out to be particularly load and did the most damage. With plugs, you'll enjoy the show so much more.

Still trying to post a link... unsuccessfully. Pity, some cool photos to show off!

link url="http://someurl"]TEXT[/link]

(ok I've replaced portions of it, I've got four different types of code on photobucket not sure which one to use...tried all combinations....stuck and wasting time at work for a second day!!!)

Can someone please tell me what to do with this...sorry for being so stupid about this. This is one of the codes I'd like to use.

Regarding the Boo Stu thing...I tried but failed to singlehandedly out scream the boos when I saw em a few weeks ago. I always thought it was an 'in joke' thing, something he plays up to a little.....

JOE & PAUL GIGS

I set off early in the Saturday morning to meet Maximagnet at Kings X station. I have driven to Epping at least 20 times in the last year, so you would think I would know how to get there wouldn't you....

wrong!

Missed the turning and ended up gong down a never ending motorway, thinking....'Oh bum!' to myself....I finally found an exit and wondered what on earth to do...but there in front of me was an underground station....'YAY ....that will do!' I thought....A local taxi driver told me where to park...just over the road...free...so that was cool and even cooler the pub opposite the station was called 'The Red House'....Paul does an absolutely stonking, amazing version of that.

we had a day wandering in London, trying to find a python for Paul and suitable Jimi Hendrix cards, then back to the car to go to the Harlow travel-lodge ready to set off for Bournemouth on the Sunday.

A note about travel-lodges....having stayed at 4 in a row...they are all kitted out exactly the same....so it can be quite freaky...you travel for hundreds of miles and it seems like you ended up back where you started when you walk in the room!

Anyway...Motorway...motorway...arrive at Bournemouth...take a wrong turn but soon find the travel-lodge. Decide to walk to the venue to see how long it takes...this was about 1 in the afternoon, I think, anyway we are checking out the tour buses when this guy comes out and Maxi says...'That's Mike manning...joes guitar tech!'

So I wander over and ask him and sure enough it is....he is having a fag break although he said that he had three more boxes then he was giving up....I asked if I could have a photo with him...he grumpily said 'Why?'

so I said 'coz you are with my main man Joe!'.....'oh...OK then!' he said

Anyway....we came back around 4 and hung at the stage door.....i was starting to get bored after a while but Maxi insisted we stay and so i went and sat on a forklift truck out of the sun...then this white transit van pulled up and out got Emi, Jeff, Mike and of course Paul Gilbert....I spoke to the crew as they passed while PG was with some fans further away, then I called him over as he headed to the door, we took pictures with him and i had a lil chat, oh and he signed my copy of Silence followed by a deafening roar!

Back at the venue, we got some merchandise...Jeff Campetelli was wandering around, so had a chat with him. Maxi went back to the travel-lodge with the merch as he didn't have a ticket for the gig and I went in.

i was over the right hand side but only a few rows back with the aisle in front of me so plenty of room. Paul was fantastic, mostly stuff from the new album but lots of older stuff too, playing the guitar with a violin bow was cool and of course Paul and Mike did the drill piece together....wow....it was just real annoying that nobody moved an inch and i was almost locked up for jumping and dancing around so much.

Half time came and i excitedly waited to meet up with 962 and stiggy, it was lovely to finally meet them both, it was over all too quick though and now the main attraction JOE...

Great way to start with I just Wanna Rock....I was really pleased that there was a good light show this time....two years ago it was literally just a light on Joe and that was it, but this time, lights, videos and everything!....not that you take your eyes off of joes amazing playing very much...but it was cool.....

and yet still the people didn't move an inch.....fantastic setlist...stu hamm did his solo in the middle, which everyone liked...he is a groovy little mover lol...Joe did a good variety of old and new and it went on for ages....this gig was well worth twice the money paid....FANASTIC....as soon as they all went off I shot down to the front for the crowd chant that i knew would be coming...but for some reason I looked back, I dont know but there was Maxi....it turned out that he had come back to sit in the foyet just to listen and managed to buy a ticket from some guy half way through..and sure enough three encores!

Outside I heard this little voice say "is that you sandy", yes I said.....turned out to be a random joe fan that I had met two years previous in London!

next day we went for a walk along the sea front....I do wonder if Stu was filming Joe as we were walking past (google stu hamm, wembley...he did a little video) we got some chips, then back to the car and set off for Cardiff....not such an easy drive this time as it wasn't motorways, but some lovely views....the bridge into wales was very cool too.

Again Maxi didn't have a ticket for this gig, but i received a text to say to go to the box office....and YAY! Dear old Galen had left a ticket there for him....not only that...to his surprise a backstage pass too....I said it was fine and I would wait around, but he checked five minutes later....as you do...in disbelief....and lo....shepherds came from the east...er...no...sorry....there were 2 passes YAY!!!!

Anyway with much phone calling we met up with Carlos and NJBeast and girlfriend and went for a drink down the road, then headed back for the gig!....I have to say its a Cardiff City Hall is a great venue...the seats are massive, really comfy and even the tallest guy in front of you couldn't get in the way....but yet again....not a muscle was moved by people...grrrr sometimes i hate british people....I tell you something though....if you get the chance to do more than one gig do it.....its so great!!!! Little differences in what is said and how things are played.....i couldn't name all the tracks coz i am rubbish at that...but it wow such a great show...again wazzed down the front for the encores and again met up with Joe Satrini and John Sylv and Wendy at half time.

anyway after the gig we were ushered through a door and up to a room, i suppose there were about 15 of us but time was ticking....john came in and said that joe didn't have much time....getting locked in the car park at midnight was constantly in the back of my mind....it was now 11.20....finally joe arrived but would you believe it started talking to those furthest away...aaaaaaaaaagh.....I pleaded with NJBeast who was before us if we could go first.....he agreed...the sweety that he is.

Thankfully I had taken the gifts just in case we met any of them as I knew I wouldn't have the car in London and I didn't want to lug them as well as the rucksack, so I said hello to Joe and gave him his present, which was a rasta hat with dreds and some Hendrix badges attached, he said it was weird that the day before they had beed trying to film the guy at the side of the stage who does odd sounds, such as bongo's and he had said they couldn't film him unless he had a rasta hat. I asked Joe if he would put the hat on so I could take a photo, which he did and everyone laughed and Joe had the BIGGEST grin you have ever seen....cant put the pictures on the web yet as I dont have a computer..but then he said it would look better the other way round, so he did that and everyone roared again, especially when he parted the dreds! LMHO.
