Anyway ...er hopefully he read the card later...but i then gave him the bag for jeff...another card and a chicken hat with big long legs that hang down like pigtails and the bag for Paul Gilbert again with a card and with a MIlky Way, a jar of coffee, a bag of pretzels, a bag of snack-a-jack's...with the sn changed to cr and a big fluffy snke from Hamleys with a knot in it hehe....for those of you who dont know Paul Gilbert very well, check out the lyrics to Individually twisted and my gifts will all make sense!

We waited for John and co and made our way back to the car park...after getting lost backstage hehe...a bit of a spinal tap moment...oh I had some stuff in the car for him...they left and we proceeded to try to leave at about 11.55....aaaaaaaaaagh machine wouldn't take my money...so i pressed for help...clearly the lady at the other end was ready to go home and annoyed that i had called her...I wont go into all that happed but we got out of the car park literally with seconds to spare!

ok onward to er inkborough I think it was called on the very left hand side of London, quiet little place, but we got on the train with a reasonable amount of time to go...we had to be at Hammersmith at 4.45....so we get about 7 stations down the track, then realized we had left something in the car...the camera I think, so back we went.

Next problem the next hotel was in the middle of three underground stations but they all seemed quite a way away and it was on a busy main road, so we got off at what looked like the best, needless to say it wasn't, we ended up walking to the next station who then said to get the bus, which stopped right outside the hotel, which seemed good, however he was new to the station and after 5 minutes proceeded to tell us the wrong bus, but thankfully having checked and asked a local at the bus-stop we got the right one and got to the hotel at 2.15....however (you knew that was coming didn't you!) there was a £10 fee to book in before 3.00pm so we just had to sit there and wait....3.00 pm eventually came and we literally threw our stuff in the room had a quick change and got back down for the next bus which went to a different underground station to the ones we had looked at before, which turned out to be about five minutes walk away, so it was quite embarrassing getting the bus to it really, but in fairness we weren't to know! Time was ticking and we had a few changes to make....oh....oh I just remembered something else, it turned out that we hadn't got the right underground ticket and we had to add a section to the one we had...now the first guard let us through the gate, but we had to run through a massive overground station to get to the next line, BUT when we got there, the guard that end was having none of it and insisted we would have to go to the ticket office and change the ticket...back we ran...queue....queue..hurry up hurry up....what...this is for overground tickets...the underground ticket office is over there....aaaaaaaaaagh...run run....of course it turned out to be a pain for them to change the ticket but they did it eventually...and back we ran....run run.....on the train .....make it to the apollo with about 10 minutes to spare (having had no time for food and writing cards for galen and STU!!!!!!! on the run). We waited in the foyet as that is where the meet had been at bournemouth.....five minutes later a helpful guy came in and said everyone was with john outside the venue.........aaaaaaaaaaagh........run...got there just before he called my name....phew! He duly handed over the tickets and the round your neck VIP passes (at this point I hasten to add that on the email it said bring identification and if you bought the ticket as a gift, bring a copy of your identification and a letter of explanation) not checking for anything!

We were given the rules and then hurded (50 of us) into the smallest bar room you have ever seen, yes JUST and I stress JUST enough room for 55 people to squeeze in shoulder to shoulder. Joe came in after about 5 minutes....he answered questions, with very long and lovely answers....oh we all got handed a pic and a big satchifunkilus picture before that....I braved a hand and said that it had really annoyed me that people were so stiff at Bournemouth and Cardiff and how did he feel about it....er.....I have no idea what he said, it was a long answer but i was to busy staring into his eyes...no basically he said there are certain protecals to follow...and when he answered someone elses question about filming he referred back to my question saying that they had two choices to film the gig...London or Paris but knowing what the British are like as in crap crowds...er...no Joe didn't put it like that...they opted for Paris, but he said that if they had picked London then he would have been very nervous tonight after the Bournemouth and Cardiff crowd. After the questions everyone got a turn to have a bit of personal time with Joe and a photo...we hung till virtually the end. Maximagnet went first....I had taken all the pictures I had drawn of Joe, Steve and Paul....now this is frustrating....coz I really wanted to know which one Joe liked best, so I said to him to have a quick flick through and sign his favourite, but after he had gone through most of the ones of him, he said 'which one is your favourite?' so I told him it was the one of him and Steve with the guitar in the middle. So he said 'well I will sign that one and you can take it to Steve and he can sign it too' (cough cough...yeah Joe, he only lives around the corner I will pop round later) At this point joe was super duper sweet...he took the picture out and stood with the pen poised over the picture, not moving...i wispered 'its Joe Satriani...thats your name' and laughed....'I know' he said nervously 'its just that its a piece of art and I dont want to ruin it!' aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwww come on even you guys have say awwww at that LOL...anyway Mick and John were now hurrying him so he didn't have time to look at the rest....as we went out Maxi turned back to Joe and thanked him because if it hadn't been for Talk to Joe he wouldn't have met me....awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww again.

We went down and walked through the crowd...which was great coz people were nudging each other and staring at us with our VIP badges round our necks LOL...we got some really tasty chips around the corner...met up with John and Co yet again then made our way to our seats...which incidentally were right next to the seat I had two years ago D11 then and D12 & 13 this time...freaky eh...anyway right by the gangway left had side right in front of Joe....OH YES!!!!!!!!!! The crowd at London it has to be said were far better...and I swear to whoever that Paul and Joe played 100 times better...if that is possible...they were amazing...on fire...incredible....but then this was Pauls last gig....they all looked so pleased afterwards...oh they were amazing...oh and a big highlight for me was when Stu Hamm was playing his solo bit in the middle...I have to say the Stu really seemed to enjoy what he was doing on stage every night, with no effort needed ...as in like he didn't have to concentrate so could just dance around, look about etc, unlike galen who seems and this is just the way they look, could be a completely different story on the inside, galen looks as though he has to concentrate a lot, although true to say he has his fair share of laughs, anyway, i digress, there behind him balanced on the drum kit was my chicken hat, I mean my chicken hat that has been sitting in my house for months waiting to be given to Jeff, my chicken hat, there on stage, not just any stage but the same one that joe was playing on aaaaaaaaaaagh!!

I got my camera poised to take a photo once the lights went up, but as soon as Stu had finished the others came hurtling on and the chicken was whipped off in seconds so I didn't get a picture....but I was just sooooo delighted to see it there...I would like to think it was Jeff's way of saying thanks!

They all certainly played with extra zeal at hammersmith,....oh just remembered this guy two seats up from him, now I dont understand this at all, I mean, why he bothered, he said to me before the show that he had come more to see Paul than Joe, he was a real PG fan, he explained that he had to go home early coz of work at this point too, well, Paul had done about 4 of about 12-15 songs, sorry i was just digging it not counting it, but the guy goes out, OK, you would think to the loo or something, but no, he didn't come back until the break, then he chatted, annoyingly non-stop to me in the break, and then went, well, it wasn't even half way through joes set! ?????? What??????

Anyway, Oh yeah, AWMAWY started off as usual, but then was changed so much, WOW, AWWWWWSUM I tell you, I cried it was just so amazing...oh oh and when Joe played Ghosts, beforehand he would say that he kinda thought that if you could have your own peronal ghost, it would be cool if he was a cool guitar shredder, but at hammersmith he said that he would like to think that his personal ghost whould play guitar like Paul Gilbert....which I thought was the sweetest thing to say, and gives me real hope that he will have Paul supporting him again next time! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!!

OH MY WORD .....then the most awful thing happened, it all ended....noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well except for one little thing, we were given flyers outside for Paul Gilbert.....

Next day it was off to the Astoria to get a ticket to see Paul Again in November.....YAY!!!! Cant wait for that coz its real up close and personal in there, will be queueing from 4pm again to get front row again if I can!

hugs Satriella xx

Hehehe... We got the question again. I'm tempted to change back to my old username, but there are only two shows left on the leg.

Kilgelec - Joe will probably tour the US in August/September. It'll be a solo tour, not a G3.

RyTunes - It is "Stuuuuuuuuu," not boo.

To get a link like this:

Type this:

In both cases, you need to use the [ ] brackets instead of the < > ones that I just used. (I can't type [ ] in my example or it'll turn into a link and you won't see the code.)

Satriella - Thanks for sharing your very in-depth reviews...I really feel like I was there. I'd love to see that photo of Satch in the rasta hat...I'm sure I'm not the only one, either. Let us know when it's online. :-)

...Austin...

I though you were not going to post your review. I'm glad I was mistaken. I was plenty of happiness having met Joe and attending one gig, so it must be incredible having attended 3 or 4 in a row. With sane envy, you know I would have loved the whole pack, that means Joe & Paul. When I asked Joe for the next G3 crew, he asked me "who would you like?" I said: "You, Steve Vai and Paul Gilbert". I wish to have my dream come true.

Do The Stu, KOOL BEANS man! When you think they'll put the schedule up on the site? About the G3, Joe was "talking" to Vai and Malmsteen in one of his podcasts trying to set up the next G3. This just his antics or is that gonna be the line up?, if ya know? Speaking of Malmsteen, anyone know if he is still into the occult? Hope not!!!!!!!! ; Satriella, Awesome narrative of your experiences with the Professor! I wish I could get that lucky!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just want to shake his hand so some of that magic might rub off on me!! :)

HEY JOE, I'm thinking that maybe Satchbot could use a friend like Yellow Drum Machine to keep him company on tour. After all...you have Jeff. lol!! It even says what it's purpose is! "Purpose in life - to find stuff and play on it." LOL!
