Guitarist182: Too bad you had this experience....

i was there as well.....and it was one of the greatest satch performances i have yet seen......and i've seen quite a few allready......

i dont know if you have been to many concerts, but the prices are a bit high, but thats usual, shirts, posters, caps, they are allways pretty expensive......not only at a satriani concert.....

it is normal for the artists to be in the venue a lot longer, especially if they have these aftershow-thingies, and club-joe arrangements....so waiting outside will take a lot of patience......

Joe is a great guy, and if you have watched the podcasts, you would have noticed him going out in the streets in daylight, meeting fans, putting them in his little funny movies, and it is quite known to a lot of people that joe really appreciates his fans, and is always nice to them if he meets them....

too bad this made you decide you will never go to one of his concerts again just by this single experience.....

Just going to paradiso, THE dutch dream-venue for concerts like this.....it made it an incredible experience for me.......

thnx Joe.....

Couple of days far from this forum..

Just very busy.

Listening more & more to Nine Inch Nails, & i've to say that to me it's one of the more interesting & creative bands i've heard since long time.

I don't introduce them... but for those who are interested, their vids are awesome :

Only

Closer

Perfect Drug

Just bought their last instrumental & very experimental double cd album called Ghosts I-IV. The whole opus proposes 36 songs all under the sign of experiment & minimalism. But all the pieces joined together constitute a very complex album. Between Satie, Peter Gabriel & NIN.. One of the best things i've heard since long time.

Here, Ghost 12

Trent Reznor is a rare artist.

today ill mostly be playing video games....

bluemoon, or anyone talking of comedy shows ,ever use to watch the fast show or blackadder? i loved those tv series.

blackadder 4 was brilliantly clever, funny, but that last episode always brings a lump to the throat. WW1 was such a barmy waste of lives.

NIN,i think they/trent are musically very good but can be a bit depressing, i stopped listening after downward spiral.

the PWEI album he produced i thought was great, and he also did a fantastic job on the quake OST.

Lorenzo001 : When I bought Ghosts I-IV, i was unaware about the 10 free download songs. This album is very different of their preceding works. But still very interesting.. not for everybody. Kind of music you have to take all your time to listen to it well.

Trent is on all the compositions, & shares this work with Atticus Ross, Alessandro Cortini & Adrian Belew. He performes almost everything. But Adrian Belew is onto almost all the guitar parts.

Revan : NIN can be very nebulous, indeed. But i never feel depressive listening to their music. I don't know if this music is good or bad for depressive persons... this must depend on people. I mean dark doesn't mean necessarily down.

Cliff - hey....dont suppose you could send me a picture of Joe at the signing could you....coz I had to take mine so quick it came out all fuzzy? Great talking to you.....wish I could have been there on sunday to watch him play too....glad you had such an awesome time! oh and hahahaha no I hadn't seen that Paul clip before....he does make me laugh!!!!

CAROL_bass - well....there are lots of people like me....when you are a Joe fan you get special treatment whoever you are.....and yes...paul is very cool too...met him in Bournemouth briefly and london last year....love im! Enjoy the gig in Brazil! wow!

Tuesdayschild - octavarium is one of the best Dream Theatre albums in my opinion....that and scenes from a memory...you get totally absorbed and involved in that one...amazing....although I would say you MUST get John Petrucci's solo album....Suspended Animation....its fantastic too!

do the Stu - Yes I hope what he said is right...I guess the decision is not up to him though.

ibanezguitars - Yep Red house is just totally a face melting tune...thanks for the link...i think its the same one as on gilbert hotel....it just stops me in my tracks when i hear it....blows me away...thats why i was so stoked that he played it twice!

dream3 - Yes I am totally lucky....I cant believe the musical experiences I have had in the last two years.....it just blows me away....yes i am sitting in a flat on my own at the moment with not a lot ....but boy I got some great musical memories! Thank you for you kind words.

joe satrini - aaaaaaaaaaaaagh so far behind on emails....I feel like we have swopped roles here Sorry....will get to you soon...ish...maybe...if you are lucky....alledgedly...hehe

Jamie, I'm happy for you, it's always so exciting to be anticipating a show with Joe, and you have two plus Stu :) I took a pretty decent picture of Stu at the Dublin concert, it has this cool purple light behind him...you're welcome to use that if you wish but you may find a better photo of him. It's on my myphotobucket page.

Austin, I did hear them say that and wondered what the heck? I hope as you say they don't drop that song, it's gorgeous live and fits well into the setlist...maybe they just meant they had to drop it for the Sweden Rock festival, since that was a much shorter gig than any of the others they played? Cross your fingers!

Sandy, glad you had such a good time. I'm still here and still waiting to get my wish.

Hello Joe, I don't wanna look like a crazy fan or anything but you are a real genius for me, some kind of Mozart of the present to my ears. And it is very stupid for me to insist on writting you expecting a response, but i won't lose my hope. So if anytime you read this you must know what would mean to me if you would only response to me. And if you have extra time check out this video inspired by listening to always with me always with you. It's me doing some juggling improvisation...it just happend while i was studing ( i always study listening your albums because they relax a lot ). Hope you see what you can cause to people by playing a guitar! Thanks for the rock Satch! here's the link of my Video

See you on July 25 Bs As Argentina

Fred, the first time I heard NIN Closer I was on my way home from work at night in the car by myself. I was like...WHOA! This song rocks! lol! The video is one of the best out there. The only NIN cd I have is With Teeth. Here's another good one - The Hand That Feeds. I'm such a sucker for a good beat. Good stuff, but I don't think I could listen to NIN all day. I think my brain would explode. lol!

Ghost 12 vid leaves ya wondering a bit. lol!

Joe ...I jsut seen Stu's vid of Amsterdam and your pedalboard, I see ur using the Zvex Ringtone pedal, I was gona get one of them few weeks back, my frined is starting up a music rehersal company thing and hes distrubing them pedals here in Ireland, he let me try a few out, the ringotne was the one i liked the most, or the seq wah was cool too, there nice little pedals, if anyone ever gets one they come in a box then there wrapped up in a material which is tied with a kinda hair bobbin type thing, kinda neat...

I wondered what pedal you used in ghosts for the random kinda notes effect, thats the end of that chapter

have u ever used the Boss DD-20? it would do everything the to delays do + more for some cool stuff, + it has 2 outputs for a stereo effect and a bunch of other stuffs... but there cool little pedals alright lots of cool effects u can get with them

Yer mad for your octave effects ya luni
