DESPERATELY NEED TO SWAP TICKETS FOR FRI TO SATURDAY IN MELBOURNE AUSTRALIA!!

ok so here's what happened

saw joe was playing in july, super psyched, booked the tickets, wooh good job Dan.

few weeks later, checking out who is playing, and Strung Out are coming to melbourne! Strung out are like my favourite band, so i'm like woohoo! book the tickets, excellent work Dan, two awesome shows in july!

so i'm hanging out with my girlfriend, who i'm taking to both shows, and she's like "so when are we going to see joe satriani?" and im like "lemme just check the tickets... ok we're going on friday july 11th"

"ok cool so when are we seeing strung out" "err lemme check the tickets... friday july... SHIT!"

in my over-excitedness, i booked two shows on the same day without even checking the dates!

so heres what i need, either someone who is going on saturday 12th july to swap two tickets for my two tickets on the friday 11th july, either that, or somebody to simply buy my two friday tickets off me at face value, and i'll just book saturday tickets cos they still have those.

IF ANYONE CAN HELP ME PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE EMAIL ME AT dan@titfish.com i would really really really appreciate it! thanks guys :)

Joe, we´re pretty excited that the next time you´re coming to Brazil, you´ll be playing my hometown - Brasilia, the capital. That will be in August, 2nd. I had a chance to see you in Rio de Janeiro in 2002 and in Sao Paulo with G3, both amazing shows! I´m a professional guitar player and you´re a big, big inspiration! I´m anxious to hear the new album, since it has a bit o Funk in it, I´m also very much into Black music! The local producer is my friend, and he was trying to book me as an opening act for the gig, but I think your management didn't like the idea....is there any chance you can hear my work, and if you find it good enough, is there a chance I can open the night for you? You can hear my material at www.kikoperes.com or www.myspace.com/kikoperes1 plus, I´ve got a lot of videos at Youtube, playing my stuff and also Hendrix, Steve Ray, Led Zeppelin, I think you will like it! Anyway, I´ll be at the gig and hopefully will take a picture with you at the backstage.....thanks for the attention and thanks for your music!!!! Matt: Bad luck with geometry pal....what time would be good for chat now you've finished school? I must point out that I'm away from Thursday-Sunday (that's gonna be a poo load of posts to catch up on) Let me know how the Satchurator fairs when you get it. Sorry for my complete absence from chat, as without revision my life has no real structure!

Anyone have any tips for recording guitar (acoustic and amp'd) with a microphone? I've only recorded direct before now. Any tips or recommendations of good mics are welcome. Also, with around £600- £800(ish) to spend, any recommedations on a good guitar? I have my own ideas, but would be interested to see what others think. (by the way, I have played the JS100 and didn't like it.) =D

Errm, this is a bit odd for this forum, but anyone play Race Driver Grid? I'm asking because I'm having some trouble with blurry scenery on PC. Edit I've fixed the blurry thing--but still, anyone play it? Or any game such as UT2004 or Far Cry, would be good to organise a race/game with other Satch fans sometime.

Firstly I'd like to say Joe Satch rocked at the London guitar show! I managed to get right at the front on his side of the stage. I've seen him play before, but have always been 20 or so rows back. Epic! My favourite song of the gig - time machine - love that song!

Has anyone ever heard or seen Joe play 'Why' live? One of my favourites too. Any youtube vids of this?

Igneousiceman - I use a line 6 POD for all my stuff and it does the job! Probs similar to what you've done in the past. People I speak to seem to recommend micing amps up with a shure sm57, that'd do for acoustic stuff as well. Better still would be a large diaphragm condenser, but they get a bit expensive, like a Rhode NT1000, but there's loads out there. Red 5 do pretty good reasonably priced mics too.

In terms of a new guitar the Ibanez Prestige models are really good, but a bit expensive. It depends what kind've sound you're going for I guess. For a blues/rock thing, you could get a hot rodded american strat for that sort of price.

Guitarman 78897 - I tried the Satchurator out at the London guitar show, they had one on the entire Vox stand! I was really impressed, it does what you'd expect - gives you bags of tone and clarity. Its very responsive too, you roll off the volume and it cleans up nicely. I'm gonna get one!

Kellogg shrinks boxes of several cereal brands

Price won’t change for five popular types; company blames ingredient costs

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - It's a little less cereal for the same amount of money.

Kellogg Co. is using smaller packaging while charging the same prices for five of its cereals sold in the United States, effectively raising their prices for the second time this year. The company started shipping the new boxes to stores in early June.

Boxes were reduced by an average of 2.4 ounces for 14 items sold under the Apple Jacks, Cocoa Krispies, Corn Pops, Froot Loops and Honey Smacks brands, said Kellogg spokeswoman Susanne Norwitz.

"This price adjustment on select ready-to-eat cereal brands was taken to offset rising commodity costs for ingredients and energy used to manufacture and distribute these products," Norwitz said.

Kellogg increased prices in January in the low single-digit range, on a percentage basis, to offset higher costs, the Battle Creek Enquirer reported Tuesday. Its first-quarter profit still fell 2 percent when compared with the first three months of 2007.

The net result of the smaller boxes is a similar price increase, Norwitz said.

She declined to say whether the Battle Creek-based company will shrink the boxes of other cereals.

Joe - hey, what's with all the octave effects. That's funny. You've got POG, mini pog, the Fultone and there's the octave function on the Whammy Pedal. You sure you've got enough? Maybe it's built in redundancy in case one goes down LOL....

Cristinalt - cool photos, thanks for posting!

gitarist182 - I haven't (so far) met a single person on Joe's team who isn't polite and will try to be as helpful as possible. Venue staff (who often have different priorities to artists crew) can be different and maybe that was the case here. Cheese, Dream3, etc all hit the nail on the head when saying if any musician anywhere is accessible, it's Joe. Even in the early hours, after a long long day Joe still manages to smile and is happy to chat to fans so I'd just put it down to bad luck this time (hey, it was Friday the 13th...).

Cliff/Satriella - thanks for the LGS/Gig stories. Sounds like a lot of fun

Michelle - sorry to hear about your pop. Sending good wishes! Is it you who has cool/crazy cats an have you posted any vids of them being cool/crazy? The in-laws dog is probably a few sarnies short of a picnic.... mite film it

Do the Stu/Suzie2000 - check out Stu Hamm's vids and you can see Joe's current Pedal set up

Anibur nice pics, and some cool artwork in that album. Can you tell me a little more about it?

Blue Moon - you spotted the whole octave thing too. I'm a bit worried about THIS pedal though. I guess it's viagra for muso's.....

Gonna post any vids of you singing????

Have a great day all

Blue Moon - I was going to say I bet Cube had tried it, he's tried most bits of kit (musically speaking!). You got a pic of your current pedal board?

Just curious, If you don't use them for octaves, what are you using them for, or do they just make the board look pretty : )

Cube ... any comments (eek, flood gates opened)? Have you used one (the pedal, not Viagra)?

Hi Blue Moon, I just wanted to ask you, where do you study? I have an 11 year old son who is going to a new school in September (here in Northern Ireland)and he had a choice of schools. He's chosen the one that has a really developed music department.

You should see it, it's got a huge room full of keys and drums and guitars and off to the side is a small recording studio. The school is well known for their choir which tours and does battle of the bands comps regularly.

But here's the problem, after the age of 17-18, what then? He could study a degree in music in somewhere like Queens or St Andrews in Scotland, and I know people that have. And yet they learn about classical and choral and theory....I don't think Joe Satriani even gets a look in?

So could you tell me a bit about your journey through education and what you hope to do with it?

If anyone wants to hear the new Shinedown album, The Sound Of Madness, click here for a teaser (a few seconds from each track). You can also listen to the entire album on their MySpace page:

http://www.myspace.com/shinedown/

My current favorite is Cry For Help. It reminds me of Guns N Roses...only a little less bluesy and a lot heavier.

michelle - The Hand That Feeds is just about the only NIN song I like...thanks for posting that. I'm not really a NIN fan by any means, but I do remember hearing that song on the radio back in 2005...it's a good one.
nickguitarmeistro - Joe played Why on the Strange Beautiful Music tour. That's my favorite Satch song, but I wasn't able to see him on the main leg of that tour so I missed it. If you do some digging around and can find the SBM webcast somewhere, you'll get to see/hear it that way.
