Hy! I come from a little Europien country and I must apologise if there will be lots of mistakes in my writing, but it has been a while since I written english tekst. I didn't know where to find the answer for my question, so I registered on this page. The thing is that my boyfrend is really huge fan of Joe Satriani. He has all of his albums and he listens him almost every day. On 1 July my boyfriend has 30 birthday and I would like to surprise him with some dedication on some postcard or picture or something like that from Joe Satriani. Is this possible? In his youths he didn't have oportunity to learn to play the guitar so we arranged he'll learn it now. I think that my surprise would be a big motivation for his playing and he would be very happy. I would be very grateful for any advise and in advance I thank you all.

in 20 years we will probably see the true effect of bush and blair's handywork, when we find out if or how resentful the current children of the affected middle eastern countries are when they reach adulthood.
anyway i hate politics,
get a good one in americans , vote satriani.
compulsory guitar lessons and free rock for all.
makes me laugh when our government spends 65 million euros on the new 'euro-fighter' jet plane but closes hospitals and schools. thats not even including the price of ammunition , one bomb costs about 10,000 $ aprox, the more they use the more they can make, more cash for all parties concerned, which aint us, the common ,everyday people, the heart and soul of all our respective countries.
sorry, going all dave mustaine on ya!

RETURN TO FOREVER _ show was incredible!! Al Di Meola signed both my CDs and got a hand shake from Stanley Clarke. B4 the show started I spotted Jennifer Batten coming towards me so I met her too!! Don't think she was expecting to be recognized. Front row seats rock! I also won a 8 x 10 of the band at the preshow party. Check them out if you get a chance , I'm considering going to Seattle tomorrow to see them again? Here are some pics

Hey Brian, my husband was just saying that if RTF come near Philly, he HAS to go. Thanks for the pics. They're great! I sent him the link so he can check them out. He's loved that band since...forever. lol! When I met my husband in '82 and he played RTF & Mitsubishi Orchestra (as I call them), I was like wtf is that? lol! I'm still kinda like wtf is that, but when there's a beat I can follow, I dig it. lol! Sounds like you had a killer time. yay!
Alan, I was bored on my break at work today, so I started flipping thru my phone pics. I forgot I took a pic of you with yer freshly I got laid hair and Joe from the computer, and I busted up laughing. Good times man...good times. lol!

Howdy ho Joe!
Just wanted to say thank you! Your music has inspired me to get off my keester and start learning to play guitar! I'm 35 so I hope it's not too late! I used to think I'd never be able to play because my fingers are fat and my left index finger is shortened (thanx to my stupid brother), but I'm not gonna let that stop me anymore! I love music with all my heart and soul and now I'm gonna make some!! On an aside, when you coming back to the States to tour for your new album? Hopefully, Atlanta will be one of your stops!! Knock em dead on your current world tour!!
P.S. Got any suggestions on any exercises that will help to thin my fingers out?

Hi Kilgelec,
Good decision to learn the guitar. No it's never too late. Career-wise in terms of playing professionally, I won't lie to you, it's a disadvantage. But as for getting good and enjoying it, welcome to a world of infinite possibles!
Your fingers are fat? Think it's bad?
Check out Andres Segovia.
One of your fingers is shortened?
Check ot Django Reinhardt.
All the best.

mahavishnu: Firstly, nice name. Secondly, it's nice to see someone else who appreciates Stanley Clarke. He is sort of like Joe, but on bass...sort of. Have you got his recent album? Bit too fusion-ey for me but still good to hear a completely individual musician.
To all Americans, I've been wondering. Who are you going to vote for? All the news coverage over here has made me interested in what the public opinion is. =D

Igneousiceman - Yep I've applied to get my stuff on itunes, but now it means an eight week wait until the tracks are on there! Aside from that though, and I'll keep you updated; I'm gonna update the shop on my website and start selling CDs. Watch this space! I've got some new tracks in the making too, overcome my writer's block :-)
Anyone else going to see Joe and the other awesome players on at the London guitar show?

nickguitarmeistro, yeah, I may be able to go to the London Music Show after all. It depends how work goes this week and whether I can hitch a ride with a mate to save on the cost of fuel! £1.30 a litre now! :o( Probably stay over night and do Sat and Sun if we can find a hotel that's not too expensive. Any suggestions? Any one know if there's a Travelodge near by?

hey, i was wondering how come only the real famous guitarists go on the G3 tour, it'd be so cool if some unknown ones could show what they can do. i was browsing youtube and thought that many of those guys and play probably as well, or almost as well as say joe, so it'd be real cool to see them make and appearance in concerts with the pros. just a thought...

Hey Joe, so looking forward to you coming to play in Freo in July, 1st saw you at Hammersmith in '88 and more than 15 times since, so this is a 20th anniversary for me ;o)). My wife amazingly bought me premium tickets for the show, so I'm totally stoked to be meeting you and the band (hopefully Stu as well!). "Professor" is on permanently at work and I'm still amazed after all these years how you still sound so fresh and inspiring................................look forward to meeting you man, it's gonna make my year! :o)))

Sometimes I feel I can hear what Joe listened in to his own music. For instance "Ride" always makes me think of ZZ Top.
I wonder of the ending of "The traveler" in Strange Beautiful Music has anything to do with "All along the watchtower" from Electric Ladyland?
Hey, I got my third JS1200 yesterday. Had to get three to get an acceptable one (Ibanez quality control is severely lacking on the Prestige range I have to say).
But this guitar is awesome. I love it. There's really something in Joe's sound that I dig and that I don't hear anywhere else. I wanted that thickness of tone. I have it now! I could go on about this guitar. Suffice to say, my number one choice was a J.Custom, more sophisticated, with more detailing, gorgeous woods, better finish etc.
But despite all this... I play the JS all the time now!
