I had the first day of summrskool today. IT SUCKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
First of all, they said get there at 7:55, so I could pick up my schedule, so I did, I waited outside for 15 minutes and classes started at 8:00. Then when I finally got inside the building, I had to wait inside for another 15 min. Then when I finally got to the front of one of the lines, the woman asked me my name, It starts with S so she said go to the other line, SO I waited ANOTHER 15 minutes to get to the front, AND SHE COULDN'T FIND MY SCHEDULE!!!!! So she told me to go see my guidance counselor and get a new one. SO I HAD TO WIAT IN LINE FOR 45 MINUTES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! JUST TO BE TOLD TO GO TO THE OTHER OFFICE!!!!!!!!!! SO I WAIT ANOTHER 20 MIN TO GET MY SCHEDULE PRINTED!!!!! So when I finally got it, Class had like 5 min left, and I can only miss 3 classes or I get dropped!!! So I explained what happened to the teacher and he understood so I luckily didn't get an absent, Hopefully, So thats my day and now I'm home and DON'T WANT TO GO BACK!!!!!
And thanx hybes you're right. But If I want a JS guitar I need to sacrifice my Christmas amp. So should I get a JS guitar and not get the amp or get a less expensive guitar and an amp, but then I can save up and buy the $200 amp I want but harder to save up $700 for a JS100.
How well does the JS100 play? Theres no way my parents will spend over $1000 for a better model, so the JS100 is the highest they will go, and thats pushing it, Give me your opinion plz!
All for now >.<

cosmic_ape Big Bunny, music plagiarism is a rather tricky thing... IMO, that chord progression in particular is a very common one... the melody is very short, so it could very much be copied, or a happy accident... Not long enough to pursue any legal actions IMO, as the song goes somewhere else afterward...
cosmic ape, i know what you mean about the chord progression but for me the striking thing is how the vocals follow Satch's guitar O_o if they were inspired by this song that's cool but i find it hard to believe that you could come up with a melody like that that mirrors Satch >=;oP uncanny

Any news or rumor on an opening band for the US tour? Last time was Eric and it was great. But it was at Nokiadfw and is no curfew there so we were treated to a G3 jam with Andy Timmons which was super! This time it's at the new HOB in Dallas and I'm not looking forward to standing 4 or 5 hours or more if I want to do the m&g, get in early and then an opening band etc. Maybe I'll just fly to El Paso or if there will be a Houston show at Cynthia Woods Pavilion ;-)

Good morning West Satchopolis, Hope everyone is having a good Monday (is there such a thing?). I hope Joe confirms a Phoenix date for his tour. I caught Return To Forever in concert last week (6/14). Al Di Meola can play (so can Chick Corea, Stanley Clarke & Lenny White!!) Maybe he could be a guest on a future G3 tour? Anyway, Danny Z. the promoter got up before the show and announced the coming attractions. He said that he was working on a Phoenix date for Joe's latest our. Hope it happens, soon even!
Peace.

Hey Gorsky, I recently saw RTF too. I thought they were going to play a lot more songs because Chick even mentioned that there is no curfew at Nokia here and he said they were still in rehearsal mode and wanted to play alot more songs so if y'all get tired or have to get up in the morning just leave when you feel like it and thanks for coming...but then they quit after 2+ hours and it wasn't even 11pm yet. I liked Senior Mouse the most.
I saw the opening G3 in Phoenix last year. It was spring break so took my son on a road trip to the grand canyon etc then club joe and second row isle seats...good time!

Guitarman77897 - I have 165 Satch songs in my iTunes library. There are a few bonus tracks and things that I haven't included there, but I'd say he has 170 songs or so that are truly "his".
The number increases when you start to include jam tracks he did for guitar magazines and the like...but there aren't too many of those.
Tuesdayschild - I'm listening to LTE right now... :-) I'd love to hear what you think of them, as soon as you get their albums...
hybes - Is this your first MP3 player, or have you gone through a few before getting this one? I didn't get my current one (my first) until October. Part of it had to do with me having such an old computer, but it was also just that I loved CDs so much.
I really enjoy shuffling around within particular artists. There are some bands, like Satch or Collective Soul, where everything seems to fit with everything...and that's cool. But it's also neat to mix up some Aerosmith or Rush...hearing a song from Get A Grip between songs from Toys In The Attic and Rocks really puts it in a different perspective. Same with Rush, and something from Vapor Trails between maybe a Moving Pictures song and something from Hemispheres. But I think I've talked about that here before.
Back to my MP3 player, I love SanDisk because you can treat their players as flash drives. Yeah you can use a program to load music onto it, but you can also just drag and drop files onto it, music or otherwise.
I haven't heard about Sony's new MP3 player...what's it called?
ansr - Yeah, Joe will be playing more West Coast shows...we just need to wait for the dates.
BigBunny - Someone posted that comparison a few days ago (maybe it was you? I don't remember). I think it's a bit of a stretch...it sounds like the key was changed in one of the songs, and the vocal melody of the Coldplay song is only similar to part of the Satch melody...but it repeats a few times.
This doesn't bug me as much as some of the other things that have been posted here over the years (such as the thing that shows Nickelback songs that sound the same).
cosmic_ape - Do you have a link to where I can hear that Kung Fu theme?
...Austin...

High 5 ally! Nice arse.
Revan, my first camera was a Minolta X-700. It's still a great camera, and I bought it somewhere around 1986! lol! It came in handy for my daughter's photography class in college last year.
Keniko, the story behind that shirt... When my husband and I saw George about 12 years ago, I bought a shirt at the show. I loved it, but decided I just couldn't wear it around the kids. Both of them could read by then. lol! I gave the shirt to my dad for his birthday, and that was the last I ever saw it. Years later, I was talking with my bro in law about George and told him about the shirt. He said he had the shirt I was talking about, but didn't wear it much, and said I could have his. I gave him my Audioslave cd that I never listened to, and he gave me his Carlin shirt that he didn't wear, and both of us were happy. lol! It's an XL and way big on me, but I still wear it. It reminds me of all the good times I had with my bro in law, who I miss dearly since he and my sis split up. His sense of humor together with mine, we'd freakin' be laughing like hell all night, and half the peeps around us didn't even know what the hell we were on about. We're on that same whacky wave and we get each others jokes even before the other one finishes the sentence. So... the shirt means a lot to me. I love George, and I love my bro in law.

Joe sure likes to play around with the camera settings! but I have to say that wasn't the best podcast.
my guitar is still being stupid, my G string (not that kind of Gstring, don't be gross) will be in tune, then suddenly go sharp, so I tune it down but as soon as I strum, it goes flat! so I tune it up and it's sharp! it's pissing me off
