Hello all, I am new to your forums. This looks like a wonderful community and I look forward to spending a lot of time here. Satch's music has been such a major influence in my life from High School to Adulthood and now I am passing it on to my two young daughers. Always with Me, Always with You was played at my wedding 14yrs ago. Oh well, enough sappy stuff.

Hey Joe, once in a lifetime I asked you about inviting Steve Morse for the next G3 experience...what would you say??? Man, I saw one video that you are playing Lazy with Purple so I've minded how CRAZY would be you, Mr. Vai and Morse jamming...OMG!!!!!

So I'm watching the first lesson at the Satchzone....several segments to it.....it's way cool, nicely done Joe and Dave!!!

Satch Boogie sounds funny played without any distortion, LOL.....good call Joe, fuzzing it up a bit :D

Igneousiceman - thanks , I think its cool too. I don't have Stanley's new album but I recently bought a song of his (Hair) that Joe plays on. He is incredible , the solo he played on that stand up bass was crazy cool ...wow

DoTheStu - let me tell you about RUSH , oh so cool . They were so on the first night , I was dead center , sounded fantastic with earplugs in. There was so many people I could hear them singing behind me to some of the songs. Favorite song of this tour for me was Ghost of A Chance.... Second night my seat was closer but on the left in front of the speakers , was loud with earplugs in but a great show none the less. Geddy's voice was weak as this was the 3rd night in a row for him , he had some trouble hitting some notes. I have some good pics I'll share when I get them uploaded.

The reason why i aksed about you could get lessons from Satch is because he has been a such succesfull teacher!

He teached Steve Vai and Kirk Hammet and more. But Steve Vai and Kirk Hammet is two of the worlds best guitarists!!

So he must be a good teacher!!!

I just waned to know if he still teach people (Give lessons to people)

PS: I dont want lessons because i want to sound like Satch but because i want be just as good!!

I have made a few songs myself and i have only been playing since december. Alot of people tells me that im really talented!

Thanks for the code Tracie. I tried it out. Had to make sure I had all the Shockwave stuff, Extras etc. installed to get it to work. That was okay. Pretty painless. Then I went to the Satch Zone and tried the free lesson. Hmmm...

Well, the interface sucks. Then I get errors all over the place and Shockwave says it can't continue! That sucks too. Tried it in a couple of different browsers but same result.

sorry you had a bad experience with it loll....it worked great for me and I love the idea of Joe doing this...my son is going to really love it :)

Joe, your Dublin concert was such a disappointment!

I am your biggest fan Joe, bought all your CDs and DVDs over the years (including all the G3 concerts and even Buddy Guy's collection on DVD just to hear you play those spinetingling few notes on 'Red House' with Buddy), listen to them daily and was so excited at the prospect of seeing you live in Vicar Street, Dublin, on May 23rd.

I went with some friends who are good guitarists themselves. But guess what? We couldn't hear you Joe! It was WAY TOO LOUD and Jeff's drums and Stu's bass drowned you out. Our seats vibrated with every bass note Stu played and our ears almost popped with every drum beat from Jeff due to the volume. And we weren't anywhere near speakers in our balcony seats.

After a while I was able to mentally ignore (with all due respect to Jeff & Stu - they are fantastic musicians) the drums & bass and hone in on your guitar playing, which was sublime as always. You are the greatest guitarist I have ever seen/heard but we all felt so disappointed at the sheer noise-fest that was Vicar Street that night. It was inaudible for the most part.

Now I am not criticising you Joe and I know you had just arrived from Nottingham UK as part of your hectic, daily city-hopping European tour, but surely your management and/or sound engineers are paid to test out the acoustics of the venue and adjust things accordingly?

That night in Vicar Street was just a blur of disjointed noise with very little of musical significance to listen to. When Stu did his bass solo it was pretty good (but still too loud - like an earthquake tremor in our seats). At least we could hear his play clearly - he wasnt drowned out by the other instruments. But when you were all playing simultaneously it was just a mess and your guitar playing was lost in the mayhem.

Some say Vicar Street is too small for rock concerts and music such as yours but ultimately the fault lay with the sheer, ridiculous volume on the night and not the venue itself. This is where your crew is at fault I believe.

I still love your music and guitar playing Joe, but even at 50% of the volume that night it would have been too loud. Please talk to your crew so they can rectify this for future concerts. Put one of them in the audience randomly now and again and solicit their feedback. Ideally this should be someone who has not been subject to years of loud concerts - maybe a spouse of one of the crew or even a member of the public picked at random? What is normal volume to one person, especially one in the music business, can be deafening and offputting to another. As a frequent concert attendee I know there is a fine line between necessary volume and deafening noise, but I believe you crossed it with leaps and bounds that night in Dublin. I'll see you again live I hope someday, when I can hear you play more clearly.

T, thanks for the lesson link! I always wondered how Joe got all that amazing sound. I knew it was the pedals (and the power of Joe), but I didn't know how complicated it was. What a feckin genius you have to be to hear something in yer head and be able to work it out to reality by doing a + b = c on the pedal board.

He's a genius I tells ya!

Whooo, I almost need a blanket today! It's only going to be 86 degrees. The last 3 days have been brutal and in the high 90's with high humidity. I got in my car after work on Sunday and the temp. guage read 102. Monday it read 105. Yesterday I found a tree to park under, it was only 98. Thank God for air conditioning! Last night a wicked storn rolled thru. Major lightening, you know, the omfg kind that gives you whiplash when you walk to the window to see what's going on, and throw yerself back because the lightening is so fierce. lol! Ahh well, at least we didn't have any damage here and the power stayed on. Some places didn't fair so well.

Check this out. This girl sounds like she has a Philly accent, so that might be where it was filmed. They got it right after we did here in Reading. You see what I'm talking about in the first 20 seconds. lol! Whiplash lighteneing! lol!

Right to left - Start with the guitar... Wah, Pog, Micro Pog, Satchurator 2, Octavio, Satchurator 1, Ultimate Octavio, Compression/Sustainer, Chorus, Whammy, and delay (long & short)....into amp.

O.K. I can't seem to find the questions I ask so I'm going to ask again, I'm not even sure if I posted it or forgot to hit post lol.

I was wondering, Joe, have you or is your music at all influenced by drugs? And are you planning on going to the Gorge at George, WA or the Spokane Arena(better for me, I'm a lot closer) in any U.S. tours? It would rock to see you live, man.

I thought the free SatchZone lesson was pretty cool. I won't subscribe because I play bass, not guitar, but I bet it'll be informative for a lot of guitarists out there. One complaint I have is that you can't rewind/fast forward, or skip to a specific part. So if you miss something, or if you want to learn a riff note for note you have to watch the clip again and again and again and just wait for the one part you're interested in. That'd get annoying, but as a whole I think this thing is really cool.

It's cool to see Aerosmith on your list of favorite gigs. You said you don't remember the date, but do you at least know what tour it was?

Ghost Of A Chance was one of my favorite songs at this most recent show, too. It seemed odd to me that they seemed to have that song down better than a lot of the S&A songs they've been playing live every night since last year.

chadley, she got it from the SatchZone lesson at workshop live....I posted the link yesterday to it, and if you put in the codeword of boogie, you can see the whole first lesson for free. After that, u gotta pay, but from what I can see, if someone wants to really learn stuff and especially learn it from Joe, it's well worth the small fee per month. :)
