it's 2am here O_o here's the setlist but not in order in some places...i'm hungry!!!! Joe finished just before midnight, i was right down the front!!! O_o oooooooo he didn't play the JS20th guitar? i could see it on the rack.

I Just Wanna Rock* Overdriver* Satch Boogie* Ice 9* Diddleyado dat* Flying In A Blue Dream* Ghosts* Revelation* Cryin'* One Big Rush* Musterion* Cool #9* Bass Solo* Time Machine* Andalusia* Super Colossal* The Mystical Potatoe Head Groove Thing* AWMAWY* Surfing With The Alien* ------------------ Crowd Chant* Summer Song*

i gave Joe the messages but now i'm paranoid that he might have left them on the table that was behind him O_o... maybe i'm worrying too much?? someone asked Joe about the Coldplay thingy...he replied "oh it's flaturing" (not an exact quote...tone of voice of oh was kinda hmmm) another guy...Dave? asked about ChickenFoot - can't remember all of what Joe said but it's a go. something about getting their timing together. he said Sammy & Chad are so full of energy!!!! Joe said he couldn't play 'Love Thing' or 'If I Could Fly', 'LT' because of the pedals and stuff like that...something about how it's played. i told him alot of T2Jers want to hear 'IICF' :)

nothing from 'Crystal Planet' nooooooo - but i'm fortunate to see Joe live so i can't complain >=:o)

Joe with 'Surfing With The Satch'

Joe Satriani thank you for letting me take a photo of you with the painting...apologies for other people taking more snaps, my bad! i didn't catch a pick...i tried. i hope you didn't leave behind the messages I gave you. please reply back to let me know...i'm a wee bit worried about it {:( thanx for drawing on my guitar for me...any tips on how i can protect it apart from not playing my guitar? the dude looks a bit country but with an attitude >:/ like 'don't mess with me' I forgot to wish you Happy Birthday for next week! HAPPY BIRTHDAY! thanx to you Joe, Jeff, Galen and STU for returning to Perth! FREO!

Leanne (BigBunny)

Jamie sorry i didn't post sooner...man i'm hungry!! only ~ a dozen of us at the CLUBJOE thingy which was great >=:) man, i'm worried i've fluffed up with the messages...i showed them to Joe and then went to some photos of my painting before it was finished. pointed out to Joe that i stuffed up his legs.

Juan Joe said his soundchecks are always in the afternoon :)

one_robot - Hi... Eric isn't touring with Joe, so if you hear keyboards they're just backing tracks...

REVAN 2008 - Cool...thanks for your 10/10 list. Some of my favorites from your list are Champagne?, Is There Love In Space?, and Musterion. But I like most of the ones you posted, so...

And on your second list, I REALLY like Crushing Day, Borg Sex, and Time Machine. I love Day At The Beach as well.

JguitarheadS - Hi...welcome to the site. Tell us about yourself... What other music are you into? How many times have you seen Satch in concert?
cheese101 - Awesome...thanks for those Jeff videos.
hybes - No problem...I did some digging around through old T2J posts, though, and I can't find the name of the session guitarist. I remember he had a website with sound samples up, and he promoted himself as being the guitarist in some 80s metal band. I can't remember the name, though...ugh, this is really bugging me.

Does anyone else remember this?

michelle - There's some great playing in that Stevie's Spanking video...thanks for that.

That Frank Zappa video was awesome too...and yes, I know who the Monkees are. ;-)

mikesb - I know absolutely nothing about Mahogony Rush, but I REALLY like that clip. What album is that from?
elpp - I first heard Shinedown when they opened for Van Halen in 2004. Of all the concerts I've been to, I think that was the toughest opening gig...and they were absolutely phenomenal. I'm still not really a fan of 45...I like their big single from their second album (Save Me, from Us and Them) more.

But their non-radio tracks are the better ones. They just released their third album...click here to hear some samples from it. This album is a mix of the heavy and the melodic...let me know what you think.

Thanks for the info on Symphony X and King's X. I'll keep those albums in mind the next time I go music shopping.

Regarding Tony's sound at the LTE gig...the chapman stick sounded a bit muddy to me because Jordan's keys were pretty loud. His bass came through nice and clear, though. The chapman stick sounded a bit better as the night went on, so maybe it was just a mixing problem. I'm sure it'll sound fine on the live album, whether it ends up being Downey or New York (those were the only shows recorded multitrack).

Samsquanch - As I understand it, Dave LaRue was never going to do more than just the Super Colossal cycle of touring. I don't think he had a falling out with Joe or anything like that.
Brave - Joe posts here every now and then...most of us here are pretty knowledgeable though; if you have a Satch question maybe we can help you out.
cosmic_ape - I think Crushing Day was dropped fairly early in the European tour. I'm pretty sure it was gone by the time they filmed the Paris show.
fiboacci1618 - I think it's safe to assume Stu will be with Joe for the US shows.
BigBunny - Thanks for sharing about the concert... :-) It's too bad to see Out Of The Sunrise is still missing.

Are you going to any other Aussie shows, or was this the only one?

...Austin...

Austin only this gig - it's a 3hr flight to Adelaide which means $$$ for flights and hotel. if Joe didn't stop here i'd have to fly east but he's saved me some money by always coming back here :) i hate economy/coach on planes, other people want my seat too.

no 'Out Of The Sunrise' :( don't know what it's been dropped. Joe said he can't have too many ballad type songs on the list...maybe that's why? he also said some songs get retired like my fav. 'Love Thing' and 'If I Could Fly'.

cause i went straight down the front to get my spot i didn't get a look at the merchandise...so for any other aussies reading sorry i can't help with prices etc.

oh - just added the Freo gig to my attendance thingy so i can do a review...but after i've eaten and slept zzzzz >=:o)

another thing - i think the airlines lost Galen's luggage...Joe said to him 'your luggage will turn up soon'

DTS> the classics in my unique (soon to be patented rating system) are the songs ive played a million times, i love them so they wll always be favourites.

Im guessing my all time fave satch song is the SUMMER SONG.

1st time i heard it was cruising along the italian autostrada on the riviera, med iteranean sun, bliss i tell you and very apt tune for that area:) mountains on one side, endless blue ocean the other.

I JUST WANNA ROCK-9/10-great solo in that and its about a robot-sci-fi connection:)

REVAN 2008 - Ahhh. The Autostrada. Man! I drove that highway many many times over the 3 years I was in Naples. Great memories! BTW, Naples is the first place I heard Joe also!

Cheese - Is that 911 Tabs a safe place to download tabs and such? I have never tried it but would love to.

Do the Stu - I hope you find the artist that did the ESPN stuff. I would be curios also. It's still very funny to me after all this time that I just noticed it. Amazing!

Ok, Perth last night..................meet and greet was awesome, Joe was a very humble figure taking time out to answer every question thoroughly. As a follow on from a question about his singing I asked him about the unplugged set way back and how the guy he did the Hendrix cover with sang worse than him! ...... he told the story of how everyone wanted to get onto MTV in those days and of how nervous he was before doing it. It seems as though he should've jammed with SRV that night but it never came to fruition, shame as that would've been quite something. Also I enquired about the chickenfoot project and he talked about it quite openly and excitedly, he said they'll definitely tour the project and he's never seen Mike Anthony and Chad play so aggresively!! I followed on from that and asked him about a supposed phone call he received from DLR back in the day and he was a little coy and first but I followed it up he admitted he'd received a phone call from Dave and spent an hour with the phone 3ft from his ear!! not getting a word in edgeways..............surprising?!....No! It turns out that DLR wanted to do a pay-per-view? gig as a kind of VH tribute act but as Joe said, "Eddie's still alive man"! I get the impression he thought Dave was some kinda nutter....................not too far off there then!! Joe signed my extremist tour shirt from '93, Mike Manning and Joe were both like "wow we've not seen one of those for years!" Got into a quick chat with Mike about "being english" lol and emigration etc as he now lives in the USA, I asked Mike about any chance of meeting the legend that is Stooooo and he said to come backstage after and the guys would definitely sign a few bits and pieces. The show was superb, big bunny got the setlist pretty much on the money, highlights for me were revelation (awesome live, really works), one big rush, cryin (he actually said before cryin that he saw a t-shirt today that reminded him of this song and gave him some inspiration, damn that made it special for me!!), time machine (Stu's bass actually conked out twice during this song), the rest of the gig was awesome as always. Aftershow the guys stopped backstage on the way to the bus and signed a few things, got to chat to Stu quickly and Jeff, Joe got a bit mobbed, I felt a little sorry for him as he looked quite fragile and tired................anyway a quick reposte of a great day, I thanked Mike Manning (Who is a top bloke, I think I chatted to him more than anyone!) for a great day and wished them all a safe journey onwards, and off they all went to adelaide!! Photos are here, anyone want original copies (they're not great!) email me.......
