Part Duex

Schmitt agrees that the construction noise could potentially impact Capitol's business. "I know guys that have had studios that they built a subway under, and every time the train went by you'd have to stop doing whatever you were doing-and people stopped going to those places. I think the ideal situation would be maybe if [construction crews] worked from like 1 or 2 o'clock in the morning until 6 or 7, or maybe 8-usually [sessions] don't start before 8. That would be one solution. But I don't think they'll do that.”

Brockmann adds that the developer has “proposed various mitigations to try and minimize noise and interruptions, and I hope they are successful. We love working at Capitol and hope nothing happens to ever diminish the quality of that studio.”

The full City Council is scheduled to meet at Los Angeles City Hall on Tuesday, July 8, at 10 a.m. to discuss approval of the project's permits.

Heritage Hollywood established an online petition for concerned members of the music community asking Los Angeles City Councilman (District 13) Eric Garcetti and the Los Angeles Planning Commission to halt the condo project.

For more information about this story, read the June 18 and June 25 articles from the Los Angeles Times, and watch the video segment “Capitol Records: Losing Sound and Losing Ground.”

Been listening to Robert Plant recently, he has actually done some very good solo stuff 29 Palms off Fate of Nations and him and Alison Krauss performing one off their new album

Nice to see you back Nick...how long now 'till we can buy yer stuff on iTunes? Are you likely to be doing any sort of 'gig' up 'ere int'North? If so LET ME KNOW. Please. =D

daniel08, you're right!!! That is very strange....Coldplay expect to hear from joe's lawyers =D Pity, as I actually liked that song off their new album- but then I really liked If I could Fly as well.....hmmm

It seems somebody is on top of this Cold Play issue. I went on You Tube and the vid has been removed due to copyright infringement by EMI. Check it out.....

Anyone from Joe's camp what to comment?

lol you've heard what i think of coldplay.

but joking aside i think it might be coicindence, but it is eerily familiar. what annoyed me was the garbage the coldplay fans were spouting about joe when 90% probably arent opened minded enough to given him a chance because he doesnt grace NMEs elitist editorials.

for americn cousins NME is brit music mag which is notoriuosly snobby, howver its spelling is better than mine-lol

laters amigos!

BIG SATCH FOR PRESIDENT!

DOWN WITH COLDPLAY!

COLDPLAY-BOO!BOO!

hehe

6105 are thinner and pointier, i duno what ones are on the 100, but i know that there on the 1000's...

i cant stand the frets on my rg, wide n flat, jumbo frets suck, i like them small and pointy almost a scallped feel, makes easier playing for me at least

Thanks Blue Moon. Ya, I think the more scalloped feel is probably better for me also. I am working on getting one of those JS models. Just not sure which one. If the frets on the JS100 are the same as the other 2, I think I would get it and then replace the pickups.

Does anyone ever think Joe will get some songs on Guitar Hero? My 2 boys seem to only think songs are cool if they are on GH. I would personally love to see Joe's team release some rights to a couple songs and get them on the next version of Guitar Hero.

Hi everybody! Haven't been here in years, literally.

So I find out that Satch is coming to El Paso after an 8 year abscence (sp?), and I decide to check out Talk to Joe, and what is the first thing I see? Do The Stu posting about being at the LTE show in LA.

Dude, I was there as well!! I saw a post on Mike Portnoy's forum that had a familiar sounding name, but I thought "well it's just a coincidence, Austin lives closer to SF than to LA". Guess I should've come here before! I stayed in Long Beach friday and saturday, saw LTE at Downey and also managed to sneak in a couple of visits to Universal (which I'm pretty sure you've visited many times this year now that the Simpsons ride is open!). Great show by the way, quite a musical treat.

So, having missed a chance to say hi in person, Iet me send a big howdy to Austin, Michelle and all the Talk to Joe members, past and present. Hopefully it won't take me over 3 years to post again!
