Anibur , liked your photo. So it still exists. Wavy davy dimo , it's still there. I went to that Brixton gig too. They carried joe off stage at the end. I think it was maybe the end of the European tour.

Do the Stu - Thanks for the info. I am amazed I have never picked up on that before. Sports Center is the nightly ritual before bed. Strange. I guess ESPN didn't want to pay a couple of dollars for the usage eh? Too bad. Shoot, so many of his songs would be GREAT highlight tunes.

I read yesterday that a couple of Joe's songs were licensed for Guitar Hero World Tour and Rock Band 2! That's great news! My boys will now think Joe rules the planet! They seem to think no one is very cool unless you were on Rock Band or Guitar Hero.

Have a blast davy!

Hey guitarhead it looks that is it for the euro ones at least.

I got guitarhero for my daughter's birthday last week, she wanted it. Pretty hokey if you ask me, pushing 5 buttons as the thingamabobs come along. I can't imagine doing that to satch boggie or surfin...what are you going to do, just the beats? But....at least it expands her music exposure beyond Panic at the Disco ;-)

Keniko, if you can get into the other band, go for it! They sound pretty good :-) Just a little taste is their tastiest tune. lol!

Ally, my fireworks go thud, boom, and make whistles. Yer fireworks go woo woo woo wooooooo! lol! Good stuff either way.

Austin, Watermelon, Fourth of July, Viagra and fireworks all in the same sentence...haha. Sounds like Love American Style to me. lol!

Check this out - frank zappa duels steve vai. 'stevies spanking'

I never really need to see Steve's legs like that again. lmao!!

Here's Mike Nesmith & Frank - on The Monkees

For you youngin's, Google The Monkees if you don't know who they are. lol!

I feel so old!

Do The Stu: The Shinedown stuff I've heard does nothing to me. 45 and another song on radio, so maybe I should listen to more of their stuff, but so far it's just more of the same rock that seems to find its way to radio these days.

It's come to the point where I'd rather listen to the local NPR station than rock radio. Ironically, the same day we were at Downey, Shinedown was playing here in El Paso with Alter Bridge, some sort of street festival or something.

I really liked The Oddysey... until I heard Paradise Lost, their newest album. Now, The Odyssey sounds bland in comparison. Heck, even DT sounds bland compared to that album. If u didn't like the Odyssey, skip it and go for the new one. Even the artwork kicks butt.

King's X, I like most of their stuff up until Dogman. After that it's not that good. Dogman has a lot of very "singable" songs in many musical styles, it's the only album I kept (I had Faith Hope Love and the one that has Black Flag, sold them both). Know all the lyrics to it, which is rare for me. Get Dogman, then get their best of, and you're pretty much set. Then again, on the MP forum they recommend Faith Hope Love a lot, so u could try it as well.

Man, I went into the archives and almost cried. So many memories from what it seems such a long time ago! And so much controversy going on, which seems to be missing from here these days (and that's good, I guess).

dakawan: those are always good friends to have, the ones that work for cool bands! Now that Portnoy himself has confirmed that there will be a DVD of this tour, all that's left to find out is which show each song is from.

From where I was seated (stage right all the way back), I could see Tony wailing away on the chapman but I couldn't pick out his notes from the rest of the band. I even thought at some point that it was more of a gimmick. Now that I've seen the vids on Youtube and heard the NY bootleg, I know that it was just a matter of Petrucci's amp eating up everyone else's sound, at least where I was, don't know if it sounded differently in the rest of the venue. Do The Stu can answer this one.

And yes, please ask Mike to come to El Paso!! I'll even settle for Albuquerque!!! These flights to Phoenix and LA are killing my wallet, and Dallas/Austin/San Antonio are even more expensive!!!! jajaja.

Hi.. hope everybody is fine.

Old trip : i finally got my ten words : it is not a question of words with Joe Satriani.

bwabwahbwah..

Nevermind.

& as i prefer more & more express myself with music than words, here a song for Bass.

Bass Digression #1

There's a crap background breath onto that track. The reason is the amp, not a really good one. So the mp3 is very low. My apologies.

& enjoy your summer time.

We're moving from the UK to Canada and so for the first time didn't buy tickets to see Joe in London earlier this year, as we didn't know at the time they went on sale whether we would be here (still don't have definite moving date). Just checking to see whether the tour will be stopping by our new home later in the year but see that there is no tour stop in Vancouver! We're gutted. So sorry we missed it and hope Vancouver will be a stop on the next tour.

:-(

Hey all , just wondering if anyone might have an answer for me. Don't get me wrong I love Stu Hamm , in fact, it was the deciding factor to go see Joe this year , but does anyone have any idea what happened with Dave LaRue ? Neither seem to have anything to say about each other and all seems pretty hush hush, does anyone got the scoop??

Once again let me emphasize Stu is my favorite bass player and the main reason I took up the bass . Joe Satriani is my main musical influence and has been since Not of this Earth . He made me understand that nothing is impossible. Shortly after that, I started hearing about Stu Hamm and the stuff he was doing. I thought to myself "I knew you could do all this crazy stuff with a guitar but I never thought it could be pulled off with a bass". And with that these two men have changed my view of music. I still fully play both guitar and bass , I haven't perfected playing them both at the same time yet , I seem to be having better luck with bass and keyboards at the same time for now (I'm not kidding around about playing two instruments at the same time, and I dont mean using a sequenced keyboard, I'm talking total freestyle). I cant say it enough , thank you Joe and thank you Stu, I will see you @ Massey Hall, I cant wait , Oh YAAAAAA !!!!

Wazup Satchland!!! Does anyone have a clue what the U.S. tour setlist will be? Cant wait 'til Friday, tix go on sale in Chicago, yay!! There will be seating though; that sucks. I like to stand, jump around, wave my arms, and do air guitar, air drums, and air bass, the whole nina. The Chicago Theater seems a bit too conservative for a rock concert.... =(

People behind me are gonna be mad lol

Joe let's get some Down (3) and some Time Machine in there!!! Not Of This Earth too if its not asking too much lol. Matter of fact just play all of your songs to every album youve ever made, we'll all camp out =}

You comin' out to play Zinc?
