REVAN 2008 - Ahhh. The Autostrada. Man! I drove that highway many many times over the 3 years I was in Naples. Great memories! BTW, Naples is the first place I heard Joe also!

Cheese - Is that 911 Tabs a safe place to download tabs and such? I have never tried it but would love to.

Do the Stu - I hope you find the artist that did the ESPN stuff. I would be curios also. It's still very funny to me after all this time that I just noticed it. Amazing!

Ok, Perth last night..................meet and greet was awesome, Joe was a very humble figure taking time out to answer every question thoroughly. As a follow on from a question about his singing I asked him about the unplugged set way back and how the guy he did the Hendrix cover with sang worse than him! ...... he told the story of how everyone wanted to get onto MTV in those days and of how nervous he was before doing it. It seems as though he should've jammed with SRV that night but it never came to fruition, shame as that would've been quite something. Also I enquired about the chickenfoot project and he talked about it quite openly and excitedly, he said they'll definitely tour the project and he's never seen Mike Anthony and Chad play so aggresively!! I followed on from that and asked him about a supposed phone call he received from DLR back in the day and he was a little coy and first but I followed it up he admitted he'd received a phone call from Dave and spent an hour with the phone 3ft from his ear!! not getting a word in edgeways..............surprising?!....No! It turns out that DLR wanted to do a pay-per-view? gig as a kind of VH tribute act but as Joe said, "Eddie's still alive man"! I get the impression he thought Dave was some kinda nutter....................not too far off there then!! Joe signed my extremist tour shirt from '93, Mike Manning and Joe were both like "wow we've not seen one of those for years!" Got into a quick chat with Mike about "being english" lol and emigration etc as he now lives in the USA, I asked Mike about any chance of meeting the legend that is Stooooo and he said to come backstage after and the guys would definitely sign a few bits and pieces. The show was superb, big bunny got the setlist pretty much on the money, highlights for me were revelation (awesome live, really works), one big rush, cryin (he actually said before cryin that he saw a t-shirt today that reminded him of this song and gave him some inspiration, damn that made it special for me!!), time machine (Stu's bass actually conked out twice during this song), the rest of the gig was awesome as always. Aftershow the guys stopped backstage on the way to the bus and signed a few things, got to chat to Stu quickly and Jeff, Joe got a bit mobbed, I felt a little sorry for him as he looked quite fragile and tired................anyway a quick reposte of a great day, I thanked Mike Manning (Who is a top bloke, I think I chatted to him more than anyone!) for a great day and wished them all a safe journey onwards, and off they all went to adelaide!! Photos are here, anyone want original copies (they're not great!) email me.......

hybes, as best as I know it's a safe site, my son uses it all the time to get tabs for various songs. But I also have good virus protection on my puter......

Wavy_davy_dymo, really nice pics and info about the meet and greet. Our poor Joe, I always worry about him being able to get enough rest on tour, he just goes, goes, goes until it's time to go home and collapse. Touring with Chickenfoot eh? That should be interesting!! And gee....DLR crazy? Really? LOL......and YEP!

Thanks Ken...hugs back to u, hope you and the family are doing well.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I am back and to see how everyone is. My daughter Jenna was born four weeks ago but had a rough start. She had to stay in the hospital for three weeks while she got better. We are all home now and doing GREAT. I'm a dad now and love every minute of it!

Hey Joe just dropping in to say "Hi" if you ever get a chance to see this.

I've been listening to your music for only a couple of months and I love it, from the Satch Boogie to your recent album Professor Satchafunkilis.

I've seen your G3 videos with Vai, Petrucci, Gilbert, and Malmsteen and you guys are awesome up on stage.

Anyways, if you ever get the chance swing by Southern California and see if you can hook me up with some lessons,

I do hope to meet you some day at a concert or maybe just walking down the street.

Keeping Rocking Mr. Satriani.

Ken - yes, awesome concert!! cause i was on the barrier right in front of Joe O_o CLUBJOE comes in handy cause we got let in early. only thing is i couldn't leave my spot so i was thinking 'ooo i hope i don't have to go loo' so i was like Lord Jesus please don't let me need to go loo.

Jamie i forgot to say to Joe that Jamie in Melbourne says 'Hey' sorry man, but your message is there for him to read, just hoping he remembered to take them...i worry too much {:/ i forgot a few other things. inc. getting Joe to sign on the pickguard of my guitar Doh! that's why i took the strings off. and i didn't say Happy Birthday to him. i didn't take my camera into the gig with me, just wanted to soak up watching Joe. other people were snapping though. i didn't see ZZ - but then i don't know what he looks like? maybe he didn't come to Perth? i didn't see anyone filming Joe. can't believe they stuffed up Stu's guitars :/ eeediots!! Enjoy the Melbourne shows! >=:o)

Tracie - i got a photo with Joe but it's a bit blurry. sorry about the show review, not very detailed...oh during his bass solo Stu walked into Joe's mic. but maybe he didn't want me to share that? :P heh, don't worry Stu you coulda knocked it over for all i care you were going off!! >=:o) check out my cheap Ibanez GIO now, i asked Joe if he could do one of his drawings on it and this is what he came up with. my guitar now adorned with one of joes creations i dub him 'pissed off country guy' Joe said when he draws he just kinda goes with whatever comes out, whatever he's feeling. i'm just hoping he wasn't feeling too much like the 'country guy' :( now that Jamie says Joe looks tired in that photo i feel a bit blue...Perth is a long way to go. thanx for including us Joe

Juan i didn't get to tell him about your video, but your info is on the papers i gave him. yes, that's my painting...Joe said it was 'FUN' but that wasn't exactly the look i was going for...but then he's standing on a giant guitar pick so who am i kidding, it ain't Van Gogh! ;oP heh flaturing means...darn it, it's hard to describe. can i get back to you on that?

andy of uk thanx >=:) my review was pretty short though most of it was about how hungry i was :P

Dave nice meeting you last night :) will check out your photos now. whereabouts were you during the concert? as soon as i went in i went to the barrier and stayed there. didn't get to look at the merchandise but watching Joe close up is way more important

edit anyone got any tips on preserving my joe sigi and drawing? can it be covered over with a clear coat of something? or should i just leave it. someone last night suggested 'don't play it' problem is that's what i've been doing these last few years and i was hoping to pick it up again.

Hello, Mister Joe :) I have created a song. It is very sad. And one amazing guitarist told me, that this song is your "Tears in the rain" plagiarism. Can you prove or deny it? Your opinion (you are author of "Tears in the rain") is very import for me...

Bunny, I'm sure he picked up the papers, and he probably read them on the way to Adelaide. I was at the front right in front of Stu, he launched a plec right at the old guy next to me and nearly knocked him out!! He might have been sleeping tho ;o)) If you want original copies of any just post on this forum and I'll send them to you....

OK, the rest of Joe's California dates need to be posted now. I'd like to know what the rest of the tour looks like so I can decide whether or not to buy tickets for the San Diego show...argh. Joe or webmaster Jon, can you at least provide some hints as to what other cities will be included?

BigBunny - Thanks for the info on Out Of The Setlist, er, I mean, Out Of The Sunrise. It's a bummer. I'm just speculating here, but I wouldn't be surprised to find out it was dropped because it wasn't interesting enough to the rest of the band. In some European YouTube clips I heard a keyboard in the song...Joe isn't touring with a keyboard player so I guess that's a backing track. And with that, it doesn't let anyone else in the band change up any parts...so they're stuck playing the same riff over and over.

I told Joe on the Guitar Center tour that I thought it could become a new Cool #9 for him, where there's a lot of improv...I guess it's not working out like that, though.

After posting my reply to REVAN 2008 below, I'm wondering...do you remember if Stu did a call and response thing with Joe during the Summer Song intro? It seemed to be about 50/50 on the YouTube clips I've seen from this tour.

REVAN 2008 - Summer Song was one of my first favorite Satch songs, so it's one of the "hits" I do always look forward to. A few years ago I thought it was getting kind of stale, but Joe dropped it for a tour and I think that did some good. So I love it again now.
hybes - I wish I could find something on the ESPN music...it's really bugging me now. I'm wondering now if maybe I actually found out about it on another board, and that got confused with here.

Next time you hear it, let me know the date and time of the broadcast. I work at a newspaper, and an old coworker of mine freelances for ESPN.com. Maybe I can have him get me in touch with someone who knows what the music is.

Also, 911Tabs is usually the first place I go when I want to look for something...it's a safe site.

Wavy_davy_dymo - Awesome...thanks for the info. A Chickenfoot tour would be awesome...I'm guessing that'd be Spring 2009?

Cool photos, too...thanks for sharing. :-)

mikesb - Thanks... I may be going to Amoeba soon (best record store ever!); they might actually have the rare album you mentioned. I'll let you know.
jsTony - Hi...it looks like you arrived here while I was taking a bit of a break from T2J, but welcome back! :-)

It's good to hear that your daughter is doing better...do you have any pictures you can share? Have you played her any Satch yet?

elpp - Oh well...it's cool that you dig Shinedown's singer's voice at least. And we still have all that other music in common. ;-)

I'll post my top 10 bands or so in a few hours (so it can be in its own smaller post).

...Austin...

jsTony, congrats to you and wifey on your sweet baby daughter, I've been wondering and wondering how things were going. I'm sorry for her problems, that must have been so scary for you both....but very happy to hear all is well now and you're all home safe and together. Kiss and a hug to Jenna from auntie cheese, lol! And yep, photos one day are a MUST please!

Leeanne, no worries on your review, I enjoyed reading it! And I don't know if this will reassure you or not, but Joe has a fantastic memory, plus he has Mick, so I'm sure he didn't forget your paper, along with any other prezzies people had for him that night. I'm sure he took it with him at the end of the night :) Your guitar looks very cool! And oh... for you, Joe in Freemantle :)

An Irish potato.....hmmmmm.....

Jamie, have the best time!

Chelly, *pat*pat*pat* It'll be okay honey....take a vaykay day and come see me here, that'll finish yer nerves off, lol! Yer doing fine babbie. Oh....did you paint the bat house....grey....by any chance? Cuz.....what's to stop them confewzing the house with yer bathroom then?

Joe....please...would you re-consider putting Out of The Sunrise back into the setlist for the US shows? It's really a gorgeous song played live and not too "ballady" if I can use such a word. It fit so well into the show and should be heard :)

So flaturing means...darn it...ok now I see. But what does darn mean? lol ! Just wanna know if his going to do something about the cold play thing or if he doesn't care at all...

I like your guitar with Joe's sign and the satch draw...That must cost a fortune unvaluable now!
