Tuesdays Child - Ya, can you imagane what Slash and Bach together could do? I don't know if your a Velvet Revolver fan, but I think personally this has been some of Slash's finest work ever. It's a shame he and Axle don't get along because that's the big hangup with Sebastian. Bach tends to be a drunken idiot, but there's no denying he's one of the biggest voices in rock. Enjoy it while it lasts. My gut feeling is the reason Robert Plant refuses to go tour with Zeppelin is becuase I don't think his voice can hit the notes every night anymore. His stuff with Allison Krauss is so much lower and laid back. Anyway, getting off on a tangent. I'm just gonna keep imagining Bach singing for Velvet Revolver, maybe it'll happen some day.

Guitarman - Congrats on your new Axe my friend. How's the playability? Are you now saving up for the Satchurator? Does anyone on the site have it yet? I would love to see someones demo other than the one Joe did on Youtube.

Do the Stu - LOL. Glad you liked my rant. Funny how sometimes you can just take a thought and run forever (or atleast until you're almost out of characters left to type on one post) :) I actully did not know Collective Soul was together. I really like their sound Very clean and tight and I think they did some good stuff outside of just the guitar bass and drums. I really enjoy a band that will put other string instruments in their music. When I saw Plant and Page in '95 that was the one thing that completely blew me away. Their ability to put horns and violens and violas (along with some other insturments I don't know the names of) and blend it with their music. Very powerful.

I'm envious you got to see Velvet Revolver. I can't remember if they ever made it to OKC. that's one of the drawbacks about living here, sometimes you miss some good concerts. You were lucky to see them right before they broke up. Who would you say will be a good replacement at lead singer?

I do think you would get into Candlebox. their self titled is just my personal favorite. Like I said in my earlier post, I am really impressed with the singles that I have heard from their upcoming cd. I was disappointed to see them go off the scene so fast. Give them a try when you get a chance. Maybe drop 5 or 7 dollars for a used cd just in case you're not that impressed, you will not have overspent.

I just spent $93.10 for a general admission Satch ticket for his show at the Wiltern...ouch! It'll be good though; I'll be right up front.

roo - Ah, I remember that interview...cool.

I just tried the links to your site again...the ones you posted the other day. It's still down. :-(

Guitarman77897 - Thanks for that picture.

I'm not sure how much money Joe makes from his products. For guitars, I think you can probably assume anything above 2/3 of the list price up to the price paid is profit for the store that sold it (if list price is $1,200 and you buy it for $1,000, they probably made $200). The rest of the money would be split up at Ibanez, and cuts are given to any other parts makers maybe, and then I guess Joe gets his cut. I'm only guessing here, but I bet it's actually a pretty small amount.

dream3 - Congrats, Jamie from Rockline! ;-) Very cool of Joe to remember...
hybes - You mentioned strings...are you aware Collective Soul released a live CD and DVD recorded with an orchestra a few years ago?

Speaking of (relatively) new music...have you heard of a band called Dredg? Give them a shot...I'd say they're funkier version of a cross between U2 and Rush. Check out either El Cielo or Catch Without Arms. El Cielo is my favorite, but it's a concept album so it might be easier to start with CWA.

I don't know who I'd want to replace Scott Weiland in Velvet Revolver. I'm not really a Sebastian Bach fan, but I think he'd actually be a great fit. I know the Axl connection though, so that'd be weird. Another choice I think would be good (or at least interesting) but will never happen would be Sammy Hagar.

When I saw VR live I was very impressed with how professional Slash, Duff, and Matt were. I believe my first words after the show were "I hate Axl"...hehehe. If only things could have continued to work out with him...

...Austin...

Tuesdays Child> yeah i gotta get my tickets, just waiitng for some purchases to clear, but it should rock.seeing P.G.

Robert Plant lives in a village outside my town and is often spotted around here. He comes from Halesowen so i guess he likes the area, we are a bit more country this way in worcestershire.

Id be gone like a Blackbird spyplane if i had his money, this area does my head in, full of rude people.

my managers sister has processed his photos in Boots. and he shopped at an old toy shop in town, and he just stopped in the middle of the road and got out his car, leaving it there! One of my old schoolmates played tennis with his son.

I guess he doesnt get alot of hassle here though, might be one of the reasons.

YEAH! the Satch's show is coming!!(when I read it I was like WooJoo!! xD) ...so mmm...I'll be waiting for..xP if Joe read this: hey Joe, I'll be the guy with an "I love you! (actually I'm not homosexual but it doesn't matter), I love (...your guitar too), Joe!" banner right in the Jockey Club in Lima that night (if you remember so)... Talking about money...it's not simple to earn those S/.290 of the Summer Song entrance...but I've got S/.180! and there are only S/.110 I need...but I don't know if it's better to buy an Andalusia entrance and earn more money for the precious Club Joe ticket...whatever, I'l be there ok? xD

Joe is coming to Peru xD!!!

Hey Joe. I went to your concert in March of 2005 for the first time at The GROVE OF ANAHEIM and it was awesome. I wanted to go see you again at this same venue, but I don't know if you're playing there this year. I'm afraid to buy tickets to see you at another venue, because if you have more US tour dates, you may have a concert at The GROVE. I would like to see you at THE GROVE OF ANAHEIM.

When I first saw you in concert, I remember a fan holding up a sign that said, "sign my pants". You noticed it and read it aloud for everyone to hear and responded, "I'm a little busy right now. Should I just stop the show and sign that guys pants? I think instead were gonna play a song by Santo and Johnny. This ones called Sleepwalk". That was something I remember from the show and I thought that it was pretty funny.

I think one of your greatest songs is Back to Shalla-Bal. I would love to see you play this in concert. This song rocks.

Hi everyone, just wondering who's the most famous person anybody's met, i've met Telly Savalas, Leonard Nimoy, Richard Attenborough and Evander Holyfield. thats about the best i can do, oh i almost forgot the 2 biggest names, Rossi and Parfitt from Status Quo. MICHELLE- cool Malmsteen story, hope he does another G3 some day. DO THE STU- thanks. our wedding's in Florida but the reception will be here in Scotland, so its costing us a bit, so we're just having a D.J. instead of a band, and there's nothing i'd like more than an evening of Rock with a large amount of Joe being played, but i'd like the Marriage to last. You should have seen my Fiancee's face when i suggested Enter Sandman for our first dance.

Do the Stu - I was not aware of that Collective Soul CD and DVD. I will check that out for sure. Funny how you think a band has dropped off the planet and they came back and did stuff and you don't hear about it. Thanks for the info. I will also check out that other band....a funky cross between U2 and Rush sounds great to me. U2 is one of my favs and I have always loved Rush. I used to drum along with Neil Peart for many years. Saw them in '86. That was the loudest concert I have ever been to.

Sammy and Slash would be great together. I am still very curios to see Joe play with Sammy and Michael Anthony for a period of time. Sammy and MA love to really get their drink on during a show....seems to be 180 out from joe's style. It will be interesting.

You asked which of Joe's live DVD's I like the best...for just the songs alone, I really like The San Francisco show in '01. But the sound quality and video the 2006 show blows it away. But that's because it was filmed in HD so it has much better video and audio quality. I thought the DVD Joe put out with his special edition Surfing CD was pretty interesting. he seemed a bit subdued :) I don't really like watching the San Francisco DVD all that much...the set seemed to be far to small for Joe. You could see he was a bit cramped. What's your favorite Satch live dvd or cd?

I would LOVE to see Joe go back and revisit the first G3 concert that was released. I really liked that entire show alot. But the audio quality is horrific. Some parts of Going Down just get completely lost. Joe, if you're reading this and you ever have some spare time on your hands (ya right) please go back and clean up and re release that G3 show.

Jamie, that's why I put that link up...I had a sneaking suspicion that the tall guy at the front was YOU! :) Glad you had such a good time AND got to meet Joe finally...I tole u he has a fantastic memory and would remember you by Rockline :) Can't wait for the pics, share away!

jsTony, that's right, yer on the clock again mister. And I'm glad the chat works for you, but for some wierd reason, even though I use internet explorer anyway....it isn't working for me, or for mckenna...I dunno if anyone else is having problems, but it's ANNOYING!!

Chelle, I would hate to tell u u can't have yer Godspank at any time....u must be prepared for the consequences I guess. I miss Sully.

roo...too funny, but it sounds exactly like Joe :) Thanks for sharing!

Revan 2008, it's simple...the kitten is smart. It knows who's going to rule the house very soon :)))

Austin....$93.10...that's getting spendy...I've not seen Joe's tickets go that high before, except for the premium tix....

campbell....most famous person or persons I've met...that would be Bill Cosby. But my most FAVORITE famous person I've met would be Joe :) We've also met John Petrucci and Paul Gilbert, and my son has met Vinnie Moore. And once upon a time, my mother sold some live earthworms as fish bait to an old character actor who used to play in all the westerns....Slim Pickins....anyone remember him? He came right up to our house and knocked on the door and was so polite to my mum :) She was thrilled, it made her week, lol!!

So webmaster, could u still please look into fixing the chat? It works for some, but not all. Thanks.

Stu's first tour video from Australia

Lol...poor Jeff looks beexausted, hope he gets some strenff back :)

And Joe....it sounds as though you took the tempo down a bit on Andalusia....which I'm glad for...matches closer to the recording on the cd and I never want you rushing through your music :) I like the slower tempo of the acoustic section that builds to the powerful rest of the song!

Are ya havin fun yet? ZZ discovered the Aussie skate parks on your days off? Be safe!!

Holy jayzus, that's what I'm talkin' about! This is one of my all time fave Satch tunes. He opened it up like the Grand Canyon and put so much Satriani stank on it - it's redickerous! It's the motherlovin' ultimate Satriani song!

And this one - Lookadishit! By the yams on the bass player, it looks like Stuey. Lil' Jeffy Campitelli on keys? I'm thinking it's JM on skins. Am I right? This was about a year or two before I became a Satchaholic.

Well the shows friday night got in city just after 10 am then came the big wait and the big question will it all be worth it which you reply it has been every other time and will be even better this time :) :) :) so slowly couple of guys joined the line with me and we sat around having a great chat well went for a walk around the stage door see if Mike was around sure enough there he is G'day how ya doing Mike etc had a quick chat while he finnished his smoke and then went back to my door step to sit and wait as my place was safe now with others there to hold eachothers spots :) :) then around 3-30 was still just the 3 of us there and Jeff ,Gaylen , and Mick well mick stops to talk to one guy and then i was speechless for a second all i could get out was Jeffy lol he stopped as i ran up how r u buddy he said great we chatted for a few minutes then got a couple of photo's with him asked if he could sign my CD's he said yeah no worries i said just one or 2 if it's ok he said nah i have nothing on so i will sign all of em so sign away he did what a guy :) :) :)

Well i got that pick me up i needed as i was starting to feel buggered and so cold and now i was warm and all pumped up for the show then toward 4-30 5 pm my mate and his wife arrived and the meet and greeters arrived so in went the meet and greeters and was only 15 or 20 people so knew ok we are front row for sure big smiles : ) :) :) :) anyway the doors open and in we go well to my surprise noone was infront of joe's pedals i think they got confussed cause of the support acts set up being onstage as we entered but i just looked for the tape outline on the floor yep sweet here we are front row and sure enough after the support act out comes Mike Manning with Joe's pedal board and puts it right infront of My friends and I we just looked at eachother smiling YEAH alright :) :) :) :) Well out comes Joe with I Just Wanna Rock then Overdriver and to be honest i kind lost track off the setlist after that the interaction between the band and i was so unreal i had Joe pointing at me Jeff Smiling and pointing at me Stu pointed his guitar at me and smiling at me and well gaylen was smiling and teasing me allnight he was smiling at me and i was waving for him to come closer for a pic and he would take a step backwards he was making me laugh so much Stu threw a Plectrum straight at me bounced out of my hand and sweet security guard picks it up here ya go Thanks mate :) :) Then Joe threw 1 and i swear it went straight then it took a sharp right hand turn as he threw it and sure enough it landed in my hand my mate just looked at me and i said yep i caught it he was like u are such a lucky bugger it was just meant to be mine i think :) :) :) well half way through the gigs our cameras both ran out of memory so we just soaked in the concert and started to jump scream and shout even more now that we didnt have to hold a camera it was just awesome the band just looked so in a zone at one point during Cryin the whole band just had there eyes shut feeling it , it gave me goosebumps words cannot describe the feeling you get being part of the whole Satriani experience the guy just has such an awesome attitude he puts the warmth in one's heart i know this review is more a review of my experience and not the show but when ya see Joe ya dont just get a show you get so much more.
