So I just grabbed my "Club Joe" tickets for the October 23rd Washington DC show. What are the details on getting in for the pre-show meet & greet?

So psyched for the show! :)

Hey Satchland...

A question about the "Satchurator" distortion pedal.

Being that it is an analog pedal, does that mean I can't combine it with digital pedals, such as my boss delay pedal? Thanks...

Almost forgot....everyone have a safe and happy 4th !!

So much for all those newborn clothes from the baby shower. LOL! Those lil' puppies are gonna blow outta them in a few weeks! lol!

updated 6:33 p.m. ET, Fri., June. 20, 2008

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - A set of North Carolina babies surprised their parents by tipping the scales and being among the biggest twins on record: Sean William Maynard and Abigail Rose Maynard weighed in at a combined 23 pounds and 1 ounce at birth this week, a North Carolina hospital announced Friday.

Freda Springs, spokeswoman for Forsyth Medical Center, said the twins were delivered two minutes apart by Caesarean section on Tuesday at the center’s Sara Lee Center for Women’s Health in Winston-Salem.

The boy weighed 10 pounds, 14 ounces; the girl, 12 pounds, 3 ounces. Springs said both babies are in excellent condition after their birth to parents Joey and Erin Maynard of Winston-Salem.

independence day, down with the redcoats!

apparently the english army wore red so it did nt show bloodstains, a morale type of thing.

but that could be urban myth, its more likely to do wit red dyes being readily advailable at the time and red looked dam smart.

blood also showed up dark brown on red coats anyhow.

Grrr.... duff back, it won't go away.... make it go away....

Joe - have great fun downunder! Good luck and take care. I'd love to have made it over again, my favourite country and favourite musician - doesn't get any better than that. Fishermans Boat Harbour at Freo is nice. What do you think about the coldplay track thing? You've obv had a look so are you finding it amusing, or are you a bit hacked off?

Satriella/Guitarman77897 - yep, sometimes the family go, sometimes they don't, pretty sure sir joseph said they'd be making the Aus tour.

Coldplay track - I wouldn't say I'm a fan, but I do have their X&Y album. I spotted a riff on there from the German Band Kraftwerk that I can't imagine is widely known (I only knew it because of a tape one of my Dad's friends made for me when I was a kid) - but they (Coldplay) have acknowledged that so I can't imagine them 'borrowing' from something else without acknowledging that too. For me, the chord structure is similar, but that's about it...

JS1200JS1000 - if I link this right, the set list (assuming it's the same) is here. Scroll down a bit to my review - hope that helps

Blue Moon - who's jiggitying on the tennis in particular, are you checking out the Williams sisters?

Hybes - I had a feeling Joe was doing something on GH3? Can't remember why I think that.....

Dream3 - that sounds like a really cool meet with Stu. Enjoy your gigs... I know you will obviously! Tell us all how it goes

Warning - long reply to Do The Stu coming up....

Do The Stu - thanks for the comprehensive post. Yes, I knew about Dreaming etc, but post that kind of thing anyway because there are always interesting facts and things that come up... like wasn't Banana Mango 14 years in the making or something (I may have my tracks mixed know as I seem to memorise lots of 'random useless' facts)?

Your band history looks pretty good to me, and as for the JM fallout, wasn't that just JM getting bored because he didn't like the tracks? I no I read about it ages ago, I think there was a fair bit left open to interpretation

I knew about Jo/Stu/JM playing on various albums but I've never got round to checking any of it out. In that vain I think an interesting record to listen to would be Album by PIL to hear the Steve Vai work

Back to Joe - I've been a fan since I caught SWTA through a school friend, and was hooked. My guitar idols up to that point had gone something like Clapton/Knopfler, EVH.... Joe was the sound and style my ears had been waiting for!

As for the Sansa/MP3 players - yep, I'm pretty sure you posted 'what's on your MP3' player and it went from there. It's good timing as I'm just back in the must get it sorted frame of mind (can't stand running with an iPaq bouncing up and down in my pocket or a cell phone looping 8 tracks...) and if contracts and things work out I'm still planning another lil Joe trip so will need plenty of toons to keep me sane - and I've had to set my tracks to 128/KBps to get them onto a 2GB card

I love this line up - and on that topic I don't feel Out of the Sunrise is dropped from the setlist - I think it was just dropped for a particular couple of shows... hopefully the Aus fans will find out soon enough and let us know - right Big Bunny/Dream3 : ) ?

At risk of hogging the board, I'll check out the SC notes later

Have a great day all, just watching a Heroes Season 3 preview, love that show

Hey, Joe! If you get a chance to read this, I posted a message earlier telling you how much I love your music and I will be attending your concert on November 6th in Dallas Texas. I will be at the 'club Joe' meeting. Im hoping to bring my guitar and ask you to sign it for me. What would really make me happy FOREVER AND EVER is if I could just jam with you on one song before the show or something. You name the song. I would just DIE. Thank you VERY much. Have a great day!

Baby shower

A baby shower is a party in which parents or expectant parents receive gifts for their newborn or expected child. By convention, a baby shower is intended to help parents get items that they need for their baby, such as baby clothes. It is a popular tradition in the United States and in other cultures, often influenced by American culture or media . In some countries this party is not celebrated until the baby is born.

Wedding shower is the same thing. You buy gifts for the couple that is getting married. Usually house wares, sexy nighties for the bride, and whatever else you can think of to make life "happy" for the "happy" couple. lol!

Americans are chock fulla fun.

Well...fun and fat babies...

Do the Stu - next time definitely! if you don't want to go to Reno you can always drive 16 hours to El Paso and see the show here!!

It'll be much easier to stay in touch now that I finally gave in and installed Internet at home, after 6 years of not wanting to be able to work from home. Guess I got tired of having to go to the plant in the middle of the night to reboot a failed switch or server.

As for the LTE trip, I really don't expect them to tour again, they're getting up there age wise. So this was truly a once-in-a-lifetime chance, as soon as the schedule got worked out I got my tickets. BTW, don't know if you're aware, there is a very good quality boot of one of the LTE NY shows, at trialoftears.net

So are u done with school now? How's Long Beach treating you? I wouldn't expect many complaints!!

Zinc Master - Thanks for the AC/DC info. I said this last time you posted something about their new album, but I'll repeat myself...I can't believe it's been 10 years since Stiff Upper Lip...wow.

cheese101 - Haha...I hate seafood too.

It looks like I'll be going to Reno...I talked to my dad and he sounds interested in going; and I bet my youngest brother will want to as well (I think you met them briefly at one of the pnemonia daze shows at the Fillmore in 2004). Joe hasn't played Sacramento in a few years, but if he does I bet my family will want to go there instead. We'll see...and I'll go to Reno regardless.

I hope this new venue is a good one. If I see a show there I may just drive to my parents' home (Folsom) that night instead of actually staying there...but I don't know yet.

REVAN 2008 - You're so right about Ride...that's a great riff at the end. I love the bassline there...it's a fairly simple one, but it's pretty interesting.

And since you mention the end of Ride being a good basis for a new song...listen to the last 10 seconds of Super Colossal and then listen to Diddle-Y-A-Doo-Dat.

Anyway, what other songs are 10/10 for you? Surely we agree somewhere. Why? The Souls Of Distortion? Time Machine? Echo?

And about Joe and Deep Purple, yeah, I'd say he just felt a bit out of place. I think there's a bit of an age difference there too...Joe's about 10 years younger than some of those guys. Steve Morse is only a few years older than Joe, though...I guess the age thing didn't bother him as much.

karlscha - You should eventually receive an email with instructions, but basically you need to print out any confirmation you have and bring it with you to the gig. You'll be told to arrive several hours early, probably around 5 p.m. for a show that starts at 8 p.m., and you'll do most of your stuff before the show.
Keniko - Yeah, it's been happening a lot lately. Sorry if I came off as a bit of a know-it-all, that wasn't my intention. But I work at a newspaper so I know copyright law inside and out. It's interesting in its own weird way...
Joe Satrini - Thanks for the long post...I feel like I've been hogging the board lately, haha. I'll skip your post for now but will reply soon.
Blue_Moon - You're several years late, but welcome to the party. Firefox rocks.
hybes - Thanks... I don't have a stereo; I live in a small apartment so I can't really use one. I do most of my listening on my computer or MP3 player, or in my car. But when I'm in a mood to really focus on music I'll listen through headphones. I have a pair of Sony MDR-V300 headphones that sound excellent for the price (less than $40). The bass comes through nice and strong...I love 'em.

I've pieced Joe's setlist together from various reviews that have been posted from the European tour. One of Stu's YouTube videos mentioned Out Of The Sunrise being dropped...so that's where my most recent question came from. I know it was dropped for some of the festival shows they played, but the comment came from before a show where they did a full set, as far as I know. So I'm wondering...

Well, I have a few more things to read but this is already a huge post. I'll be back later, I guess.

...Austin...

Nick: Interesting what you say about EOC, that album has grown on me a lot...took about 4 months but it has!! North by the way (for me) is Lancashire/Liverpool/manchester/Preston. I tried out 6 guitars yesterday in my quest for the 'one'. A strat, tele, les paul, new Lodestone, £1300 musicman aannnd an RG. I loved the RG, it's a prestige model with hard case for £549!! Sounded so much more 'alive' than the music man in a back to back test. (and of course, you kinda 'endorse' the RG....so they must be good =D)

I'm not going to hold the odd similarity of 'Viva La Vida' against Coldplay, I still like the album and their stuff. Still think it's a mighty big 'coincedence'... =D

Listening to: Lights Of Heaven by Joe
