That's true Victoria, I was just there in Ireland and caught both of Joe's shows, in Dublin and Belfast. But thanks for the good wishes. Now we hope to catch him here in Reno, and San Francisco...and I'd go to Portland and Seattle if he was actually playing there, HINT HINT JOSEPH!!

My son is happy about the Reno and San Fran shows, since he didn't go to Ireland with me....he's kinda, but not really, perturbed that I'm two shows up on him now, lol. So he's especially looking forward to this road trip in November.

And yer right about that Mckenna, u Irish ARE a lazy lot, I was in line there fer HOURS and HOURS before hardly anyone even bothered to show up!!! FFS!! Here....it's a seated venue for the Reno show so it dunt matter, but u can bet we'll be in line in San Fran for like....ferever beforehand. And even then, all the premium ticket peeps will get in before us....we'll be lucky to be at the stage, with the number of those tix they sell :| *sniff*

You have both been to lots of Joe's shows. Do you really need earplugs? Is he that loud?

I did go to GC and bought my wife some earplugs (of course also an excuse to show her the JS1000). I did get some rather expensive ones that have a tiny tube down the center of them so that you get sound filtered in. Not sure if they really work. What's your opinion? I listen to music at a fairly loud volume from time to time, but never real loud for too long.

I've even printed your notes to "study". Regarding "seeing" Joe, I have associated memories with songs, not related to gigs. Examples of what I thought you might be describing....

Flying in a Blue Dream - first on in the car on route to buy a new road racing bike... but also outside Hamsmith Apollo stage doors with BBC sound crew just being blown away by the tone (or also hair on the back of the neck moment and sudden wave of emotion at G3 Perth).

Driving at night - having a lot on my mind and just going out for a long drive to zone out, and heading for a coastal point near a light house in the early hours

A Train of Angels - the calm before the storm after lining up on the grid for a (motor) race and as the track really kicks in (after that 30 secondish intro) that's when the lights go out and away we go.

So do you see the stories Joe creates, or do you see associations/memories? Or none of the above LOL

BigBunny - a proper bike ride has to be at least 25 miles, in somewhere around an hour ; ) he he he. Thanks for the update re Joe and his reply. I don't subscribe to the Armstrong and drugs theory. I don't remember anyone feeling the same about Mig Indurain during his 5(?) tour run. Maybe Lance had extra adrenalin or something due to his illness, but I'd like to think it was all natural, otherwise what's the point. There was a great "20 memorable tour moments" program the other night, really good. Cadel didn't look quite up to it on Alpe D'Huez to me, but still hoping he can take overall

Revan2008 - my ultimate would be the McLarenF1 and I'd take that over the Veyron any day. But my all round fave (and am not normally a 'rarri' fan) is the F430 scuderia - RIGHT up my street that one. I will get one, oh yes (or however the dreamy line fron Waynes World goes)

Igneousiceman - thanks for that. There shouldn't be any combination of OS and browser that I haven't tested so it's got me beat. Unless my (and other) ISP's are stripping stuff out again (they did it a while back to stop people downloading illegally but missed that it affected other protocols - DOH!). Yes, sometimes our friends Downunder do trouble me, but they're such a laid back bunch and so friendly that more of the time I just wish I was there. It's a great place. Oh, PS, if you have an HP laptop don't install SP3 without first doing a bit of google - it can end up in a boot loop

Dream3 - a while back, you were having chat probs which you then remedied? Any ideas what you did then, and what's changed recently (if anything) on your PC's to kill it? Maybe an MS patch has FUBARD it for us all...

If you want the most bang for your buck, I'd say it's probably best to go to the northeast (New England area) or Southern California. You'll find beaches and mountains/snow in both places, and there's tons of (different) historical things in each area.

If you just want the beach, Hawaii and Florida are your top choices. If you want skiing, go to Colorado. Entertainment would be best in Las Vegas, Nevada.

I've never been there, but Chicago is a nice all-around city. San Francisco is, too (I've been there several times). And if you can only go to one city, I'd say New York wins out over everything.

You mention Monument Valley (FYI, the cover photo of Led Zeppelin's DVD was taken here) and the Grand Canyon. I've never been to either place, but I have been to Joshua Tree National Park. It's absolutely beautiful...

I think it's good that your wife has earplugs. I bet you'll be fine without them, though. If you're still iffy, you'll be good if you bring a tissue to tear up and put in your ears "just in case". But I really think you'll be OK.

ty hybes, it's Joe so it's always great. I just got done talking to my son and telling him about our seats, he was pleased :) As fer the volume at Joe's shows...well.....since we're usually at or very near the stage....we go deaf every time. Lose a lotta hearing for a day or three, everything sounds muffled afterwards. Especially when we do shows back to back. I thought I was never gonna hear properly again after the two shows in Ireland. Sooo.....yeah....take some earplugs or something. I think I'ma check into the better quality ones though, not the foam ones, they block too much sound.
