Hi Joe!

I am from finland and Iv been listening your music about 12 years now and you are still my favourite guitar player! I have always thought that you are not just a great guitar player but you are a great musican too (love your song on every album)!

And I have been thinking to buy one of your guitars if I ever get that much money saved. Thank for the great music and playing, i have seen you once live, in pori, Finland. It was a great gig! :)

Right, I'm off for a few days, please please please don't post too much. I remember when I got one or two days behind, ***shudder***. Thank you very much. =D

Wouldnt that be cool if you went to a concert and a bloke standing next 2 you just gave u a backstage pass 4 no reason?

:)

Hi everyone - first post for me, had to tell you I went to Joe's show at the Forum in Melbourne on July 11 and it was without doubt the best gig I have ever seen. I "rediscovered" SWTA last year, don't know why I had let Joe drop off the radar after being right into him in the early 90's. Then when I heard he was touriing I grabbed the chance to see him. He doesn't have a single bad song, I can listen to all of them on high rotation from home-car-work-etc- I told my daughters about "I Just Wanna Rock" today and we danced around the living room. Now they go round saying "What is Your Purpose?" :0). Such a nice guy too, I just want to hug him - and how on earth he can play with sunnies on in a dark venue and not make a mistake, and he doens't even look like he's trying, doesn't sweat! I'ts the dancability that makes his music so enjoyable - there is a harmony there.

Anyway cheers for now

Igneousiceman - I haven't watched any of the Tour De France this year, but I watched it a lot in the past during the years Lance Armstrong was winning (he wasn't the reason I watched, I really like the sport...I guess it just worked out that way).

I don't remember the specific stage of my favorite tour moment, but after looking around on the internet I think it was stage 20 in 2005. The ride was pretty hilly, but it wasn't a full-on mountain stage. One of Armstrong's teammates (Levi Leipheimer?) was leading most of it.

For whatever reason, by the end of the race Armstrong was quite a ways back. Jan Ulrich was leading. But Armstrong made a comeback and flew by him within a few hundred yards of the finish. I'll never forget the look on Ulrich's face when he was passed...it was more of an amazed "How on earth did he catch up to me?" or "How does he keep going?" than it was anger or disgust that he wouldn't win the stage. Incredible...

Zenfish - It sounds like you're a pretty big Steve Morse fan. I think you might like his recent albums with Deep Purple, then, as they almost sound more like Steve than they do classic DP.

If you click here you can hear a 30-second sound clip from Don't Hold Your Breath. It's not the most representative sound clilp, but you can hear a bit of the EVH vibe during the verse riff. If you like it, maybe check out a few other clilps...I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts.

I have some of his Dixie Dregs stuff and a solo album or two, but I think his work with Deep Purple wins out in the end.

roo - You were posting to T2J from the gig? Very cool! ;-)
Skippygirl - Hi...welcome to the site! :-) It's cool to hear that you enjoyed the concert. What are some of your favorite Satch songs/albums, if you can choose?
intergalaticSonic7s - The blame rests with your local promoters, not Joe.
cheese101 - I'll keep my fingers crossed for some northwest dates for you... :-)

Igneousiceman - out of interest, what OS and browser are you using? Cheers, it's not actually my cat (mine's a common moggy) it's a joke someone sent me - but the cat is cute, you're right Lance Armstrong is awesome. Respect. I miss him in the tour

G3 will be... after chickenfoot I guess? That's a question for someone to ask Joe on the US leg

Maritime - thanks for the link. Are you in any of Joe's podcasts?

Do The Stu - thanks for the links. I have SC on now. Overall, I loved SC when it came out and still do. There are a few tracks that occasionally I'll skip. At the moment, I'm not really picking up the playing over backing tracks vibe, but I'm semi distracted by the open air disco at 10,000 watts approximately 300 yards away.... one of my all time fave tracks is a Cool New Way. For me it's simple, yet massively effective. The live version really got me emotionally (when I was at the gigs) so hearing it on Live sends me back there.

Is that what you meant in a post about "seeing" Joe? As in memories associated to albums/tracks? Anyway, I'll give another listen with more focus, but it isn't going to be until 11pm tonight at the earliest (when the disco finishes).

VHIII sounds like the perfect album for me VH wise then, as I'm a big cherone fan. That's why Tribe of Judah is on my iPaq.

Speaking of which, new Extreme Album on the 12th, and they're touring (with Kings X) I think. Summer tour stateside, and a sample track on myspace plus tour dates Extreme

Anyone else want to listen to Five Star???? - must be an 80's disco....

Big Bunny - thanks again for doing that. So was it yeah with a smile type yeah, or "oh yeah" as in oh god? ; )

Anibur - cool thanks. Yep, should be on member lookup

Oh dear... I was going through some Joe stuff looking for an article on Banana Mango and I found something. NO laughing! ; p

BHD.The guy on the right looks really angelic I think!

So, Aus fans... is this about right for an Aussy Barbie game? LOL First one out is the loser apparently....STREWTH

Something else from the Inbox... you can ignore the waffle, I just think the picture was creative (see below)

Men's Restroom Mural - read before looking at picture

Edge Designs is an all-women run company that designs interior office space. They had a Recent opportunity to do an office project in NYC. The client allowed the women of this Company a free hand in all design aspects.

The client was a company that was also run by all women execs. The result.........well..... we all know that Men never talk, never look at each other.... and never laugh much in the restroom....

The men's room is a serious and quiet place...

But now...with the addition of one mural on the wall the men's restroom is a place of laughter and smiles - and they say women don't have a sense of humour.

Send this to all the gal's in your life that need a smile and the guys you think can take having a little fun poked at them.

DoTheStu: yes, I was posting from the gig, but not while joe was playing!

BigBunny and the satchers: Yes, joe has all the notes, he said he knows he has them in one of the travel cases.

Got to catch up with Joe, Stu, Jeff and Galen. Thanks again Mick.

Joe was pretty amazed when I pulled out the cover of una-noche-a-seville. He said oh wow, I remember that show. And we had a chat about may and walsh, and effects pedals going to wrong patch.

The show was awesome x 4,000,000! By far the best on the tour. Caught up with roger1138, how cool was that roger? Did you get anything signed?

And to the roo competition aftershow pass winner, Im glad you had an awesome experience and I could help. Rock on!

Hi my friend! Tribute in my language for you!! You're The Best ok?!?!?

"JOE SATRIANI"

Hi Do The Stu,

I can't pick a favourite song. To me, (no musical knowledge, can't play anything) they are all consistently good. I can put shuffle on and am never disappointed. I wonder what Joe thinks is his lesser quality tracks?

Am having a Joe revival, quite besotted ATM, out sourcing all his albums and checking out You Tube to get some perspective on what he's been producing over the years and the stories behind the songs.

There is so much I'd like to ask him, not technical stuff (since I have no idea about music) but just "dummies" questions about all manner of topics.

Cheers for now
