I'm at work now, but things are slow so I'm here.

The Reno and SF shows are going to be a party...this is awesome. :-)

Tracie and Chris, and Brian (and his wife, in SF)? I think this calls for In-N-Out before the San Francisco show. What do you guys think?

Brian, I'm not sure if you've ever been there...but Tracie, I took you and Chris there before Satch's gig at the Ventura Theater in 2005. I've also taken matt king and marimariSRV there when they've visited me in the past.

Excellent food. I think I'll have to make a run while we're all waiting in line outside the Warfield...yeah?

Do the Stu,

I am sorry, a guy named "stu" was cited in amazon.com review for a couple of Joe's live albums, so I thought it could have been you since you use that name. It is said that Joe's musicians appears here, who are them?

Ohhh chadley, don't axe her how many times she's seen Joe! She's been a fan for 2 minutes and has already seen him more times and in more cities than some of us long time fans. lol! Joe is like her crack. lol! If she can drive there, she's gittin' sum! lmao!! I'm a total Satch slacker compared to her. lol!

T-Bones, you filthy satch ho. Yer the bestest satch fan - so entertaining - and as mc says - so feckin friendly!

So anyways, we stopped at a grocery store tonight after dinner. My husband was wearing his Surfing With The Alien shirt. Some guy pushing 2 wee ones in a cart looks at us and starts to walk away. He stops and turns and says "Is Joe Satriani a guitar player?" We say yeah. He says "My dad loves that guy!" Then he asks if he plays a song called Houses (or something odd) of Locusts. lmao! I wrinkled my face for a sec, and said "Hordes of Locusts" and he yelled "Yeah, that's it! He played that a million times while I was growing up!" lmao! We told him we were big fans, and my husband says Joe is on tour and coming to Philly. I tell him Oct. 19th to be exact ;-) I asked the guy how old his dad was, and he says 57. Cool. We have a little more small talk, and the guy walks away. Next time we look up, he's on his cell talking to his dad giving him the info. lmao!! That was fun :-)

elpp...I had no idea there was a prize....where do I go to collect it? :) And I'm only basing my views on ticketmaster by my own experiences with them....I think it's wierd how they fill seats.

I read an interview once where Joe's height was listed as being 5 feet, 7 and a half inches. Just right fer hugs for those of us more vertically challenged, right *cough*chelle*cough*? :D

Brian, I'm up 2 on Chris and he's keeping score, lemme tell u.

Austin, count us In-N-Out fer a burger run :))) Joe, while he's at it, u want anything? How bout Stu, Jeff, Mick, Galen, Mike? Pickanick in line I sez!! I can only eat about half a burger now, but I'm sure Chris will be verra happy to finish mine AND his meal off :)

Chadley....well....since finding Joe (thanks to my son) in September of 2004...I've now seen 14 shows in 9 different locations :) And Chris has seen 12. So this next run will put me at 16 in 4 years. Not too bad...but coulda, shoulda, woulda done more, lol!

Ty chelle, I know u lubs me when u calls me ho, LOL!! Mckenna thinks I'm overly friendly, which to him that's a character flaw, lol!! And yep, if I can drive it, I'm there...but I've been known to fly a few or 10 places to see Joe too :)

Now all we gotta do is get Mc to the US, see some shows out here and send him yer way fer the rest of the entertainment :)

Tracie: well Austin was the one that asked for bets, so he should be the one paying!!! I guess your in-n-out burger will be covered by him :) And yeah, I don't like their seat assignment process either, but they're the only big game in town, so... we'll just have to get lucky I guess.

According to Google: 5 feet 7.5 inches = 171.45 centimeters I'm on a roll!!! If anyone needs me to guess/bet on anything let me know!!! jajaja.

This will be my 10th Satch show: 4 G3's (96, 97 in San Antonio and twice in 01, Denver and Santa Fe) 3 Solo shows (El Paso and twice at HOB LA, all in 2000) Cave Creek Music Festival, Phoenix, 2000 Satch/Dream Theather/King's X, Albuquerque, 2002. As u can see I was a huge Satch fan in 2000, then faded away after 02, when I got taken over by DT fever. But 6 years is a long time, so I'm looking forward to this show.

Hopefully he won't play Summer Song in this run. Heard it 9 times live. We'll see. Later!

Hey Joe, and all

It has been awhile, hope all is going great for everyyone. Work has me moving back and forth for Louisiana to Alaska. I am currently in Alaska, way above the Artic Circle,BRRR.

Joe, Anchorage is a great place, can't ever remember you you touring there. I can fly from Dead Horse, AK. to see a show. Be nice if you could find time to come and do a show, great place to bring the family too. Love all the different tones and sounds on your new material.

Wish I could be home in Louisiana, when you do New Orleans, but the schedule doesn't work. Please think about an Alaskan show. Thanks

GGG

OK, since some of us are kinda already talking about it...how many Satch shows has everyone here seen, and going back how far? If you aren't sure, you can go to the road page and "edit show attendance" to refresh your memory...but it only goes back as far as the EOC tour.

I've been to 18 shows, including 2 in-store performances, since 2000. And I have tickets to four shows in November. I've hit every tour except the SBM "An Evening With" tour, which I'm still a little bitter about because I missed Why (my favorite Satch song) and a lot of cool SBM stuff.

That sounds like a lot, but I know some people here have been fans for longer...and there are others who have probably seen about the same number of shows I have...

elpp - Hehe...there isn't any prize, so I guess it was a rather lousy competition.

I told Tracie in an email that I actually pulled up some third row seats, but they looked like they were way on the end in section E. I've never been to this venue, and I didn't want to be stuck outside the edge of the stage, so I passed...a few tries later, my seventh row tickets on Joe's side came up.

Ticketmaster is so annoying...meh.

Mahavishnu - I have a crazy setlist full of things I'd love to hear Joe play. I think the most realistic of all of my choices is still a longshot...but I'd love to see Out Of The Sunrise back in the set.

If I were making a guess at the start of the tour (and we didn't have previous legs to go off of) I think my first choice would be Time Machine. And that's there, so I'm happy.

djzn - Ah, OK. I haven't written any user reviews for Amazon. I've done a few for CD Universe, but I don't think any of them have been Satriani albums.

No band members other than Joe have posted here since around the EOC era. Stu made a few posts (maybe 5), and I think Eric Caudiex made one or two as well. I think Jeff may have posted once.

roffler - I've heard of Les Cheetham before, but I've never actually heard his music. So thanks for posting that.
Mahavishnu - Hmmm...I don't think you could have eaten at an In-N-Out in Montana. Maybe you're thinking of another restaurant with a similar name? Most of their locations are in California, and they have a few (very few) in Nevada, Utah, and Arizona. I don't think they've ever been farther away than that. And all of their meat comes from the same plant...they don't freeze any of it so they're limited to a few hours' drive from there.

Anyway, I'm going to stop talking about it because I'm getting hungry. ;-) But yes, I'll plan on placing a big In-N-Out order the afternoon before the San Francisco show. :-)

michelle - Very cool...a few years ago, I was at a grocery store and some guy commented on my Dixie Dregs tshirt. We talked about Steve Morse for a minute or two...I was pretty surprised; I never expected someone to recognize that band.
cuthbert1776 - Hi...it's cool to see you around here again...
GODGUNSGUITARS - Wow...it's nice to see you here again too. How long have you been in Alaska? What's it like? Do any big bands make it up there?
Listening to: Dave Matthews Band - 10/1/07, Hollywood, CA; a bootleg of a show I was at (current song: The Stone)

I have been a fan of yours since "Surfing with the Alien" came out 20 whatever years ago. THis latest album ....well let me just say ....I would have paid $100.00 for it. You keep developing and pushing the envelope. You were born to Rock and I want a bumper sticher that says" Thank God he sent us Satch!"Absolutely fantastic new album Professor!

elpp...my son and I are big DT fans as well, but so far have only managed to see them twice live...the first time we stood one foot from John Petrucci all night long and it was just incredible!! I think that show put my son into a permanent coma, LOL!! We love and appreciate all the members of the band for their expertise at their chosen instrument, but he's a guitar player too, so to be that close to Petrucci....heaven for him. :) And as much as we love DT...Joe tops everything! I guess that shows in the number of times we've seen Joe, vs DT :)

And so far, he's been playing Summer Song....but it's such a fun and upbeat song, just dance to it and you'll get through, lol! Personally, Joe could play air guitar on a song or two and we'd still enjoy it.....addicts that we are, lol! Did someone say crack?

Hey cuth.....now my brain is working overtime, trying to remember what we talked about....I have vague notions, so am sorry to hear that and hope everything works out for your wife and kids.....hang in there, and if it will help....a hug for you all (((cuth & family)))

Revan....I thought Cloverfield promised a lot by the picture and description on the movie jacket...and then didn't deliver. It was too vague and they took the "homemade movie" concept too far so that it became annoying instead of making it feel more real. I also hated the ending, being left hanging like that. To each his own I guess :)

Chin up my chelle-belle...don't u get a weekend off again soon? I hate u working weekends too, the world's axis shifts and it ain't no fun. :|

Kt, which show did u see?

It's fecking early here, I was awake at 6 when I dint have to be. The damn birds are exceedingly cheerful and very noisy too, FFS! Anyone have a tranquilizer gun handy...for ME?
