JOE!!!! and T2Jers! Hey! I won a guitar at Hertlein Music during the shredstock guitar clinic!!! Adrian Galysh (sp) Doug Doppler, and Steve Smyth!!! It's signed and everything. Check out Flickr.com the pics here and at hertline guitars.com for even more. That was cool winning the raffle. I had to take off the original bridge pick-up and I put a "Hot rails" on it. Then i moved the volume knob over and took out a tone knobe to make room for the trem travel- and inherent problems with strats. It a "baltimore" Strat. Plays good to after putting my guage o'strings on it. ATN News: We are planning to put together a vid of us playing but no word on how soon we can get one going. We're hoping before the holidaze. H-Birthday again. Mine too 8/9.

Do the Stu: I'm surprised to see that you got into EJ before Satch. As I remember, Satch was all over rock radio before Cliffs of Dover came out. Satch might have even been the reason why EJ got some radio play at all!
Have you heard Alien Love Child? EJ put out a band album under that name, I have a live bootleg of it and it's very good. Lots of blues and jazz. I also saw him twice live with that lineup (bass, drums and EJ) and it was so very cool. My all-time favorite EJ songs are by far Trademark and Rain. I think he even won a Grammy for Rain. Highly recommended!

Sunday Bloody Sundy and War are 2 huge U2 albums for me. But I think The Joshua Tree takes it for me. I think it's one of my favorite albums of all time.
I saw a set list was leaked today for guitar hero world tour. Satch Boogie was one of the bonus tracks! That'll be sweet.

Tikimon: to answer your question, no JS guitar here, and I haven't done the Club Joe package yet.
I don't think I would ever do a premium package, I wouldn't have enought things to say to fill the alloted time!! Plus all the artists I've ever wanted to meet I have: Satch, Stu, everyone in Dream Theater, Steve Vai and Eric Johnson.
Keniko: DA BEARS!! I've been a Bears fan since 85, and I've hated Favre all this time. It would be the ultimate insult for me to see Favre in a Bears uniform, even if it means that the team would go back to the playoffs.
Bears management is one of the worst in the league, I still can't believe they let Thomas Jones go, and now that Benson's finally gone they have to start all over again at RB. And next year it'll be the same story but at QB. They should've grabbed Jeff Garcia when he was available, that Super Bowl would've been much more interesting with a real QB.
Later!

Wow, you guys post fast. Thanks for the welcome. Someone down the line asked me about favorite Satch songs... I'd say Always With Me, Always With You, Summer Song, Satch Boogie, Friends, Home... it's a long list. Each song has merit in some way, and there's something to learn from all of them. I like a number of the other virtuoso guitarists: Eric Johnson, Steve Vai, etc. I can listen to most things, but I gravitate towards rock/blues/jazz mostly. Just saw Rush a few weeks ago, that was a good show.
So anyway, how's everyone doing?

Keniko - Now that I think about it a bit more, I'm almost positive it would have been a Guitar Center thing. Because now I remember them walking up and down the line with a JS guitar and a few other Satch-endorsed products, and anyone who bought one was able to get an autograph from Joe before the event started.
Still though, I'm sure some musicians are limited by their endorsements. When I saw Paul Gilbert at the Amazing Journey tribute to the Who (with Mike Portnoy, Billy Sheehan, and Gary Cherone) back in 2006, he put tape over the Marshall logo on the amps he was playing through for that night.
I think he's since switched over to endorsing Marshall, but at the time of this gig I guess he was with someone else.
Botdra - Hi...welcome to the site. Tell us a bit about yourself.
Tuesdayschild - Thanks for the note on U2. I like them a lot, obviously, and I'm also a big fan of the Dave Matthews Band. But I differ quite a bit politically from both groups.
That's never stopped me from being a fan...I might not always agree, but it's cool that they're able to say what they want. And from an artistic point of view, I can appreciate it because it's honest.
The artists themselves don't bug me; I have more of a problem with the "fans" who put Bono or Dave Matthews up on such a high pedestal and just blindly follow everything they have to say. I feel that way about more people than just musicians, but now I'm getting a bit off topic so I'll stop. ;-)
Onto something different...have you been listening to LTE or Dream Theater any more recently? What are some of your current favorite songs?
civgeek - Hi...welcome back! A lot of people have been using the chat recently, but I think it's incompatible with the latest version of Flash so T2Jers are having a lot of problems with it now.
What do you think of PSATMOR? I don't think I've heard you say anything about it. It's too bad Joe isn't playing the northwest on this tour...are you up for a road trip to California for a show or two? ;-)
Tostado - The Coldplay thing has been posted here a few times...I think it's a bit of a stretch...
cosmic_ape - Congratulations! When exactly are you heading out here? Do you know specifically where you're thinking of living? Send me an email sometime...I can help you with any questions you may have. Or at least, once you're all settled, it'd be fun to get together for lunch or something with another Satch fan. I hope you can make it to one of Joe's November shows too...
elpp - Yeah...I got into EJ first. Satch may have been on the radio earlier, but I didn't really start listening to music on my own until about 1994. My family moved out to California and then I started listening to KLOS...and EJ. Around the same time I got the first G3 album, KLOS started playing Lights Of Heaven from Crystal Planet. And they've done a pretty good job of playing Joe's newest singles from every album he's released since then...
I do have the Alien Love Child album, and I love it. I never got to see that lineup live, though... :-(
symphonyofnames - Welcome...it's cool to hear the Rush show was good. Have you seen Satch live at all?

WhammyFreak: If your budget can stretch, why not look at an Ibanez RG? They are good, and not too expensive...
Revan: Must be the rarified mountain air...good that your dad finds the inspiration to do all that...
DoTheStu (any to any else on the whole U2 thing): Despite liking Unforgettable fire' I can't help but think how similar many of the tracks are...Now don't get me wrong, I love the Edge's tone and style, but it does get a bit repetetive after a while. Another thing, I think City Of Blinding Lights is a beatiful song...
(Oh yes, my local music shop has now 'streamlined' it's stock. In other words, cut the stock so CD's only take up about 1/4 of floor space. In more other words, no Eric J for me...) That brings me onto something else, I'd rather buy a 'real' album than over the internet, but thanks to situations as above, there is really no choice.....=(
Nick: You'd better believe it!! I'll let you know what my favs are, when I decide! =D
civgeek: I tried the S series but didn't like it, and I play an RG so....
Anyone who plays and RG read on: I have a 1570 with an Edge Pro bridge. The thing is only about two weeks old and already the trem arm is a bit squeaky and loose. It's weird, it sort of doesn't stay 'locked' in if you know what I mean...Any thoughts?
Tuesday's Child: To quote a certain Irishman by the name of Lynnott: "We will be strong, I know we have the strength to carry on, I know my rights from wrongs..." not quite sure how that will help, but there you go. =D
Uh-oh, someone mentioned Rush. again...=D

Joe, "you're arriving on a point that no one can reach you..."
- words from the lead guitar of the band that opened the concert on July 31st, in Rio.
That was the 6th concert I went to and (it's impressive) the show is better better better than... The guys were spectacular. The musics, the lights, the guitars, the interaction with the crowd... Were amazing!
The sounds from your guitar are something...
No one can reach you...
Thank you very much, guys!

Ken : me, i'm workin'. & get closed family here in holidays.. that's some wonderfull days.
As already said, to me, Hendrix is the greatest Bluesman of 20th century. 21th is just beginning, & unfortunatly, Jimi is no more here, even if his influence goes on. A mess whose our society is crazy about.
I've been into the whole Hendrix during sometime.. the whole Hendrix, with all the insane aspects. But i got the luck to go out.
What i learnt with him is finally very simple : Be yourself. Don't double-cross yourself. Music is a whole world. Don't double-cross music. Showbiz is a trap.
You see. some very simple lessons. But essential.
