Just come back from a track session at the Manchester Velodrome...and I ended up sat next to Mark Cavendish!!! (have his autograph now) Yes the guy from the Isle of Man who won four stages of the Tour de france. Good god he is fast...but then so was I riding a fixed wheel on the track...=D I did a 22.03 seconds lap, to put that into perspective, the record for two laps is 27.49....Great fun!

Ya it's pretty sad in this industry that you have to go such lengths just to stand out rather than just being recognized for your talent or interesting technique .

I guess it's why I like Joe and others like him , he's on the other side of the musical coin . Not there for fame , he does it because he loves music , no ego trip. It's a rare breed, believe me , just try to start a band and see what comes out of the woodwork. Being on stage does strange things to peoples minds after a while.

cheese101 - "have we seen this vid yet? 20th anniversary video from Ibanez....might have seen it already"

::sigh:: Yes, we've seen it before...that's the concert that was two blocks from my apartment that I wasn't at. I thought I said we weren't allowed to talk about that here ever again... :-/

Watch it, or you'll lose that free drink!

Igneousiceman - Congrats for being able to ride half the speed of someone in the Tour de France. ;-)

How long is a lap in a velodrome?

js1200js1000 - Give Buckethead a chance, really... I thought the act was a bit much at first, but I bought a few of his CDs and saw him in concert and he's really all about having fun. It's the same as Satch or Paul Gilbert or whoever...Buckethead just does it in his own way.

There are other people here (death cube k) who are huge Buckethead fans and will probably have more to say. But really, his music is quite good.

Austin - ..aha I see.........probably all been said before since I am late to this party, you must have been SO excited to do that interview!

I love the disproportions of your long, footy-player legs and height to Joe's cross-legged midget :))

It must have made it easier for you that he is so articulate and talkative - it was a great interview in my opinion.

I really liked Cheesey's submission for the competition also.

If you ever get a chance to interview him again, I have a host of dummies' questions for non-guitar players that I would love you to ask him.

BTW the Satch collection is growing - have picked up TEJA, and G3 Tokyo - I am tending toward ITLIS as my favourite same as you, I almost believe I could possibly learn to play Hands In The Air (dreaming of course).

I told my bro I was collecting - only for him to tell me he has the whole Joe discography - bugger!

Buckethead is really eclectic; there's really no telling what you're going to hear when you put a new album on. I like Buckethead well enough when he puts his mind to being a little more melodic, rather than just thrashing.

Anyone here know of Neil Zaza? Another very good instrumental guitarist, not too many people I've talked to know of him.
