ok it works again so far! ...i never used the ilok thing at all u can just download the ilok drivers and it will work for PT, which is what i done, wen i installed Pt first, it didnt work so i needed to download the pace ilok drivers... but i changed the usb port the mbox uses and so far so good!

So yeah just a change of ports was the cure i think but i had nothing but issues with the system since i got it, when i first installed the mbox it would work, it took me a day or 2 to find the drivers myself on the installation cd then pro tools wouldnt work, so i had to download the ilok drivers again, then this happened for no reason yesterday oh and also, i had to install more ram cause pro tools needed more to run, that was before i could even install ANYTHING! ffs

GOD DAMN DIGIDESIGN

if that sounds confusing, try installing the thing, its just aswell i know a thing or two about computers, any average joe would be lost, digidesign is not user friendly at all

Do The Stu - Glad you liked it! I think the piano track was mixed into the same track the clean guitar track was recorded on, which is why it has so much reverb. I'll have to see if I saved everything before mixing. I'll post the updated version in the next few days.

Blue_Moon - Is it Pro tools for MAudio you've got? A mate of mine had problems setting up his maudio box too. Not very user friendly! You've probably already tried it but if you change the hardware buffer size within pro tools then thats usually what helps. Lowering the buffer size makes your signal go through the software faster, but you'll get pops and if you set it too low the whole thing'll crash. Set it larger and there'll be a delay with the signal. So set to get a happy medium.

Another thing to do is monitor your guitar direct from the input so you get zero latency rather than listening to what comes out of protools. Some maudio boxes have that feature (if thats what you've got)

Hope that helps?!

Its a sheep sound effect ...2 of em :-O

Yeah its digidesigns Mbox2 mini, running Pro tools LE... M-powered is run on macs which is pretty much the same thing only for m-audio's firewire interfaces

and yup ive 2 inputs for the guitar, ones in the original soundcard which comes back through the computers speakers and ive some old monitors there too, and the signal is also being send into the soundcard coming out of m-audio monitors so the sound can come back on both or seperate or whatever i feel like i guess!

I've also a keyboard hooked up stereo into the soundcard inputs too and doubles up as a midi controller via usb cable, prety simple sounding operation but kinda awkward to get all up and running nice and neatly

but all apears to be still working, and the buffer size is the default, seems to be ok, PT throws buffer size errors at you 24/7, god damn thing

Hmmm...it feels weird to read a few hours' worth of posts on T2J and have nothing to respond to. ;-)

I guess I'lll throw a question out to everyone... I just got back from the gym, so I'm wondering what everyone's favorite workout albums are.

I listened to Aerosmith's Pump tonight; I'd say that's one of my top gym albums. For Joe albums, I think EOC and PSATMOR are great. I also listen to Rush's Power Windows and Hold Your Fire quite a bit.

I guess I'll stop at those five. What does everyone else listen to at the gym? It'll be nice to hear some suggestions...

...Austin...

Do the Stu - I don't go to the gym, but if I did I'd probably listen to something heavy like rammstein or dream theater or maybe some killswitch. Something which has that angry sound to it. I cycle a fair bit so can't really listen to music whilst exercising.

If you are bored and have no T2J posts to reply to then you should visit my website!

Welcome to the board.
May I ask you why you have a catalan name such as Joan Manuel, being from Colombia ? Are your parents fan of Joan Manuel Serrat, or any ot them have catalan roots ?
I'm also Joan, and it brings confusion about my genre here, as it's a girls name in english speaking countries
