Roo - Sounds like you had a really awesome time seeing Satch on this past Aussie tour and to make someone else's night and dreams come true with a free backstage pass is just an awesome act of kindness.

That's your good deed for the year done :) :) :) :)

And great to know Joe has the T2Jers messages BigBunny see ya can rest easy had a sneaky suspicion he had them from the way he looked at me and smiled WooHooooo im the not so famous Jamie "Rockline" Anderson from Melbourne Australia just awesome.

Hi Satchland! Haven't been on here for a while.......

Guitarman7787 - thanks for listening to my stuff dude....glad you like it. I've been recording satch type stuff since 2003 when I entered Young Guitarist of the year and since then really. I used a tascam 788 to record most of it, I'm now switching to Logic on my mac which is much better :-) Spread the word!

John (iceman) - I haven't had time to watch any of the tour this time round, but what you say about Armstrong..... he's truly an awesome guy.....have you read any of his books? "it's not about the bike" is the one I've read, it's pretty inspiring!

listening to: Get the funk out - Extreme

Hope your B-Day was rocked! Steven Wilde says "Hi." Your 20th Guitar looks amazing. Looking forward to putting together a new album and maybe a "cover" album as well. Steven and i are still knocking that one around. This is our chance to play "Our" faves. At least two songs on yours, two from Vai, two from Boston, two from Beck,......maybe even Ted Nugent!!! I'll keep you all posted when that goes down. Oh, and we want to make a video, too. Then people could not ingnore us for long........not that anyone has.

COLDPLAY/SATRIANI ?????? Ok, I checked out the you-tube post about Coldplay ripping off the chorus of If I Could Fly. First off , I cant stand Coldplay and I hate coming to their defense but , I really don't think Joe invented the chord progression E A D B (even if you transpose it to another key) and really what other lead are you gonna put on top of it but something in a major key (musically or vocally). I'm not even sure that Coldplay could even digest 5 seconds of Joe's music let alone try to rip it off. I think that whoever came up with this rip off theory would have better luck going after Oasis for ripping off The Beatles or Led Zeppelin for ripping off Wilie Dixon.

DoTheStu.....I have a couple of pre-5 year old girls who keep me pretty busy these days. I don't get as much guitar time either but that's ok...I still manage to play out once a month or so.. We bought a house late last fall so we're busy being poor too...lol.

So what have you been up to since college? Or are you still attending?

Joe Satrini - Thanks for posting your SC comments. I'd be interested in hearing more in-depth stuff from you if you get another chance to listen to the album again soon...

When I said something in an earlier post about "seeing" Joe it wasn't about reacting to the music in concert...it was more about just listening to his music (usually on headphones) and seeing things in my head...ideas or pictures or whatever. It's hard to explain the stuff though.

There aren't many newer songs that do that...I'd say Out Of The Sunrise, Asik Veysel and Andalusia do from the new album; and Redshift Riders, Ten Words, and One Robot's Dream from SC. Going back a bit more, Tumble, Bamboo, and If I Could Fly.

But with his earlier albums...NOTE, The Extremist, CP, and even EOC actually, I get that vibe with every song. Joe's style has changed a bit over the years though so I guess that's understandable. It's not really good or bad...it just is.

If you're an Extreme fan you'll love Van Halen III...definitely check it out. And thanks for the info about their tour with King's X...it'd be awesome if I can catch a show.

Skippygirl - Hi...thanks for the reply. Do you have most of Joe's albums, or did you miss out on most of the ones as you sorta drifted away from his music?

What other bands are you into?

nickguitarmeistro - You told me a few weeks ago to listen to some of your music...I still haven't done that. So...what songs do you recommend I start with?
ZuperDave - Congrats on buying the house, and it's cool to hear about your kids...do you have any photos you can share?

I'm doing well...I graduated college with a journalism degree in 2006. I started working at Long Beach's local newspaper at the end of 2005, in sports. I switched to news about nine months later, and about 4 months ago my job moved from Long Beach to Torrance and now I work on two newspapers for the same pay. ;-)

dream3 - Awesome...thanks for posting that!

...well a factory like, stock cylinder base gasket what they dois well they seal to a certain extent what happens on those old rotax 2 strokes is well they have no head gasket,s it,s aluminum mating to aluminum now when the piston comes up it creates acertain degree of pressure like from the engine haveing no head gasket you see ,example a head gasket is to absob out on a car it,s 17 poun,s of pressure they abosrb on this it,s about 11 poun,d it would absorb .So that pressure has to go some where but the gasket the stock one isnt strong enough to force that pressure out the exhaust the cylinder base gasket so all the factory gaskets are allowed to leak you dont notice but they do it,s even and the steady pressure leads you to believe their is no leak and it,s running fine.Yesterday I started my 250 tnt can-am 1975 I use and automotive JR header,s cylinder base gasket ! no shit I bought a gasket material set that who makes it!,then I made my own gasket man she runs great has some carbureator troubles though this old one that was real dirty I cleaned it but shes euchered it ran lot,s then it doesnt get fuel I had it running like it worked the carb a bit for about ten minutes if you prime it turn the choke on she fires right up the floats not working though ,plus some jets are probably plugged man she runs nice fresh firdst oberasixze piston fresh bore jr headers handmade cylinder base gasket works good have to dig another carb out of my parts room maybe send this one to a machine or carb shop to get cleaned more theoruly stronger chemicals anyways all those factory a1970,s baske gaskets on rotaxs leaked later wolf2 more coffee wolfie.

Guitarman - I don't personally have the xbox live set up, but some people I work with say that Call of Duty 4 is incredible. Very fast paced and very difficult. For at least a year I keep telling myself I am going to get the wireless connection and get online, I just have never seemed to find the time. With a murder of kids and a house myself it's difficult to balance it all. I do get on Friday or Saturday nights after 10 and play some on the xbox. I really like cod4 and Assassins creed. When I finally wire up to go live I'll let you know. It would be pretty fun to play some with people from this site.

I would love to know if anyone has the satchurator yet also. I see it on GC website but havne't asked them if they are selling it. The last time I was in GC I was foaming at the mouth over the JS 1000. Still patiently working all the angles with the wife! Perhaps when we go to Dallas to see him, she'll give in. I did buy her earplugs already to get her prepared for the show. She still doesn't believe we are going. I have to take vacation time from work. I have only taken 10 days off in 5 and half years, so she really is calling my bluff. We are going though. I have waited so many years for the opportunity to go and I'm not missing it this time.

Do the Stu - Good to hear you are a journalist. I was a broadcast journalist for 8 years in the Navy. I wish I had pursued it when I got out. I actually had a job with the local Fox station in Jacksonville Fl but decided to pass on it.....very long story.

What made you leave the sports side for the news side?

Do the Stu : well.. i think we both agree to say that evh influence onto Morse is real.

After, i'm not as knowlegdeable about Morse as you think.. i just think is one of the greatest.. & some of his compositions for trio sound very interesting.

About the Deep Purple thing... the fact that this band hired him means a lot... if we keep in mind that it was the band of a certain Blackmore.

Have checked your link.. the last Deep Purple is good work, but i'm not really into that kind of stuff. Hope you won't be disappointed.

It's driving me nuts: What IS the song that is playing at the opening of the Bonus Features Menu section for Super Collosal on the "Satriani Live!" DVD/CD? I don't recognize it, it's not on the DVD or CD itself and we LOVE it. Is it on an album? If so, which one and what is the name of the song? Thanks, John & Eli
