Austin - ..aha I see.........probably all been said before since I am late to this party, you must have been SO excited to do that interview!

I love the disproportions of your long, footy-player legs and height to Joe's cross-legged midget :))

It must have made it easier for you that he is so articulate and talkative - it was a great interview in my opinion.

I really liked Cheesey's submission for the competition also.

If you ever get a chance to interview him again, I have a host of dummies' questions for non-guitar players that I would love you to ask him.

BTW the Satch collection is growing - have picked up TEJA, and G3 Tokyo - I am tending toward ITLIS as my favourite same as you, I almost believe I could possibly learn to play Hands In The Air (dreaming of course).

I told my bro I was collecting - only for him to tell me he has the whole Joe discography - bugger!

Buckethead is really eclectic; there's really no telling what you're going to hear when you put a new album on. I like Buckethead well enough when he puts his mind to being a little more melodic, rather than just thrashing.

Anyone here know of Neil Zaza? Another very good instrumental guitarist, not too many people I've talked to know of him.

I couldn't agree more. You got all these people out here that strive to play and sound like Satriani , Slash , SRV , Van Halen or whoever , they gotta sound exactly note for note who they are emulating. It's one thing to be able to copy another persons sound (though it lacks personal expression), it's another thing to be able to create and innovate something different that hasn't really been heard before. Lets get real here , we are all sick of the same generic bubble gum crap that we are force fed everyday to listen to. If someone can create something that isn't a reincarnation of something that has already done a thousand times then go for it.

p.s. Remember music ain't all about looking good and all that.Just think of the Rolling Stones, they aren't the prettiest bunch but damn they know the blues.(there are many other performers to pick on for appearance but I'll leave it at this)

DoTheStu: I know! I felt honoured...on the 'sprinter line' the track is about 200 or 250m, I can't remembet which...Riding higher up the banking however increases the distance. So really, it depends where you ride; I found it hard when doing my lap to keep to the shortest line...so I have lots of respect for those who race around places like that. =D

dakawan: Hopefully he'll be winning GB a fair few medals...Interestingly, I've also met Phil Liggett! He seemed like a nice guy as well

Unfortunately I didn't get to speak to Cav. as he was deep in conversation with his coach/trainer/friend at the time, but my mum caught him when I was on the track. =D

Right, I am off on holiday (again) for TWO weeks. I am going to ask nicely,( as last time despite me mentioning it you all still posted a lot) but firmly. Sod it pleasepleaseplease don't post too much! =D

maritime: Very philosophical thoughts and quotes there...

I leave you with this quote that Mr. George Bush said: "Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we." —Washington, D.C., Aug. 5, 2004

Don't you just love politicians? =D

well HELLO WEBMASTER!

I thought you had gone to that great gig in the sky ...you bin gone so long!

WELCOME BACK!

I haven't been drawing for ages....but I started Slash the other day...and I am nearly finished!

Ibanezplyr - how are you? thanks for posting the pictures.

Revan 2008 - hmmm I am just getting into a bit of Extreme myself...I hear they are gigging in the UK shortly

Maritime - thanks for the PG interview...strange....this bit

Is the title track of your new album a reference to the moment before you switch on your amp?

Ha ha, I can't remember where the title came from but once I heard it I loved it and actually I came up with it before I had the song. But I liked it 'cos it sort of obligated me to somehow to produce the 'Deafening Roar'. The silence is easy enough to make but now I had to make the 'Deafening Roar'.

On the album cover thingy he says that the silence refers to when he was moving house and he couldn't play much and the roar was when he got back on his guitar.....he must have a goldfish brain like me...

or

maybe we are just both getting old! LOL

The Fireman - Welcome back! Hows your wife now?

Joe Satrini - Welcome home...er in a few days!

Hugs Satriella xx

dear joe my name is drew and i'm thirteen and one of your biggest fans when you came to natick ma, my dad took the day off of work to take me and my mom to see you as they are fans too. we had a great time. my parents, for my birthday july 29 got tickets for your upcoming concert Oct. 14, at the orpheum theater in boston,ma. they were supposed to be in the middle orchestra 9 rows from the stage and ended up being in the left orchestra and the three seats aren't even together(this is not what we ordered and we paid $400.00) we tried to straighten this out with the company that sold them they basically said to bad, then my dad called his credit card co., to ask if they would take it off his credit card and mail back the tickets so we could then purchase suitable tickets to the event and they said to bad too. Joe,if you can help(603)668-1167 or email kitten31520@peoplepc.com. this has turned into a nightmare, which was supposed to be a dream of a lifetime

Once again I couldn't agree more , so let me sum up this discussion with this thought. Music is an art form , people need to stop coping out and being lazy posers with no creative initiative . This isn't a grade school popularity contest. Persons with even the slightest bit of intelligence can figure this out. It's one thing to drawn inspiration from another player but if you don't develop your own personal playing features your just riding the coat tails of someone who created before you and that, I'm sorry, has no musical integrity .

p.s. maybe Metallica should go after all the bands that sound like them, give Lars something new to do.

Joe-

The new album (can we still call it that?) is fantastic. "Come On Baby is one of the greatest songs I've ever heard." I really hope someday you can do an album all that style. Not necessarily blues like "Joe Satriaini", but just mellow, ballady stuff. Stuff like Come On Baby, Always w/ Me, Home, You Saved My Life, Just Look Up, Etc.

I'm really looking forward to the show at The Orpheum in Boston. This will be my fiancee's introduction to the world of Professor Satchifunkilus, and I'm sure it will be a great one. On that note, it would be tremendously cool if you could dedicate "Always w/Me, Always w/You" to Mike and Meg!

Hey everyone! Been a while since I've been around here. I had a few days off of work this week and recorded a new short piano and guitar piece. Give it a listen and let me know what you all think!

This Feeling

Edit: I know the piano sounds distant. Not sure what happened when I was mixing, I think the reverb setting got screwed up somehow. I'm probably going to re-record it and add strings. I'll post the 2nd version if anyone is interested.
