Hi peeps, just a quick long waffle post on the new YJM Strat i purchased

Straight out the box it played perfect & sounded amazing acoustic without being plugged in, which I expected & so shot like a bullet back home & stared at it for about 2 hours b4 attempting a setup

The neck needed adjusted bad due t travel from the USA anyone that buys a new guitar top range or any range shipped straight from the factory especially from abroad should expect that

Young peeps think...i got the guitar, they get it & OH NO...search for a local Luthier that really knows what he or she is doing & y,ll be on your way

First off this guitar I feel as I have just finished a compound radius fret job on it is for out n out fluid solo tone a wonder, however.... I have t say although I love the dimarzio YMJ on Neck & HS3s middle and Bridge but I feel the urge t go Texas Specials now & then for that SRV Knofler out of faze sound neck n centre gliss

If the YJM tone is what you are after, its all here

For a fussy bollox like me tho, while it is the tone I love, its not all I need.It will however be an amazing tool t use for recording.LIVE most defo no, this Strat feels like I,m carryin a 2 meter wide tree, its a clumsy amazing sounding friend

All in all, Amazing experience t meet Mr Fender Strat at last! But I,d love t ask Mr Leo Stratofunkilus if he would allow me t do a Homer on his good name lmao

Al....make me a slanwich y bollox

so as a reletive newb on this forum, how many of you own any js guitars? i have a 35 year old strat and a 40 year old twin reverb. i also have a steve vai jem and legacy carvin as well as a js 1200. i have beeen wanting a mini collasal and may get 1 soon. i reall y don't need another 100w amp, wife would kill me. i got rid of a marshall slant back that was early 60's to get the carvin. i reallly can't wait to see joe when he hits south florida and will be attending 2 shows in 2 days. club joe on both. i am also intersted to know how many of the regulars here do "club joe". i have read that many of you attend multiple shows. i am really excited to meet him at the florida gigs.

Wow been a while since I put some time into a message.

Castle 49 - Have you left Santa Barbara yet?

I recently got Pablo's SFBADR. I like it a lot. Whenever I listen to him he inspires me to practice.

The band is going well. It's been a year since we last overhauled the songlist. SO... we are currently filtering through a 200+ songlist for new songs.

I am back playing my RG but have my eye on a new S series. This time I'm going for the 24 fret version. I like the string tension better. But first I really need to upgrade my amp. Still have hopes of landing one of the new JVMs. Not a big Marshall guy but I have not been able to get that amp to sound bad.

I have my state test to take in Oct, then I'm going to start looking for an original band to get into. I've had to turn down a few inquires recently and it is really starting to piss me off. i need more hours in the day so that I can fit in all I want to do. *sigh*{br]
That's all peeps. Take care.

I just heard a rumor about a song from Coldplay that sounds exactly like "If I Could Fly" From Joe. I heard them both at the same time , and it sounds awesome. Coldplay's song is called "Viva la vida". Listen to "Entre dos aguas"-Paco de Lucia.

My kids insist that they're inheriting a JS 1 and a JS 100!! They will be getting these two guitars when they turn 18 they're 10 and 11 now. Their Dad died last year, he had a history of drinking too much and being depressed, and had attempted suicide 9 times, and eventually got successful. So sad. He was a great guitar player. And I loved him, as our boys did. Anyway...is there such a thing. Is there Ibanez JS1? I remember, years ago, I was with him when he bought the white one...about 1990. He paid £600 for this guitar.

Wow looks just like the white one Joe was playing...

I just feel it couldn't be right. I dunno if there even is such a thing as a JS 1. The inlaws are holding onto the guitars...I think they're afraid I'll stick em on ebay, but all I can say to that is NO WAY. They are too dear to my children. But that's ok, the family can hold on to them forever if that what it takes to trust me. I'd never sell them. There's a custom Target Zack Wild Les paul in the going there, but I'd never sell it either. The guitars are his legacy.

Kinda sad that the relationship between his family and myself is so delicate. But there you go.

Hello Joe, Got a Satchurator pedal on Wednesday and am having a lot of fun with it, great tones. The interaction between the tone and gain controls is so versatile. I also like how quiet it is. Good stuff. Cheers.

Very, very excited...

Zinc Master: yeah, I was referring to that post. I tend to lean towards the liberal side, so some of the stuff kind of struck a nerve. But I know it's all meant as fun, so it's all good. We've gotta be able to laugh at ourselves from time to time, right?

JOE!!!! and T2Jers! Hey! I won a guitar at Hertlein Music during the shredstock guitar clinic!!! Adrian Galysh (sp) Doug Doppler, and Steve Smyth!!! It's signed and everything. Check out Flickr.com the pics here and at hertline guitars.com for even more. That was cool winning the raffle. I had to take off the original bridge pick-up and I put a "Hot rails" on it. Then i moved the volume knob over and took out a tone knobe to make room for the trem travel- and inherent problems with strats. It a "baltimore" Strat. Plays good to after putting my guage o'strings on it. ATN News: We are planning to put together a vid of us playing but no word on how soon we can get one going. We're hoping before the holidaze. H-Birthday again. Mine too 8/9.

Do the Stu: I'm surprised to see that you got into EJ before Satch. As I remember, Satch was all over rock radio before Cliffs of Dover came out. Satch might have even been the reason why EJ got some radio play at all!

Have you heard Alien Love Child? EJ put out a band album under that name, I have a live bootleg of it and it's very good. Lots of blues and jazz. I also saw him twice live with that lineup (bass, drums and EJ) and it was so very cool. My all-time favorite EJ songs are by far Trademark and Rain. I think he even won a Grammy for Rain. Highly recommended!

Sunday Bloody Sundy and War are 2 huge U2 albums for me. But I think The Joshua Tree takes it for me. I think it's one of my favorite albums of all time.

I saw a set list was leaked today for guitar hero world tour. Satch Boogie was one of the bonus tracks! That'll be sweet.

Tikimon: to answer your question, no JS guitar here, and I haven't done the Club Joe package yet.

I don't think I would ever do a premium package, I wouldn't have enought things to say to fill the alloted time!! Plus all the artists I've ever wanted to meet I have: Satch, Stu, everyone in Dream Theater, Steve Vai and Eric Johnson.

Keniko: DA BEARS!! I've been a Bears fan since 85, and I've hated Favre all this time. It would be the ultimate insult for me to see Favre in a Bears uniform, even if it means that the team would go back to the playoffs.

Bears management is one of the worst in the league, I still can't believe they let Thomas Jones go, and now that Benson's finally gone they have to start all over again at RB. And next year it'll be the same story but at QB. They should've grabbed Jeff Garcia when he was available, that Super Bowl would've been much more interesting with a real QB.

Later!

Wow, you guys post fast. Thanks for the welcome. Someone down the line asked me about favorite Satch songs... I'd say Always With Me, Always With You, Summer Song, Satch Boogie, Friends, Home... it's a long list. Each song has merit in some way, and there's something to learn from all of them. I like a number of the other virtuoso guitarists: Eric Johnson, Steve Vai, etc. I can listen to most things, but I gravitate towards rock/blues/jazz mostly. Just saw Rush a few weeks ago, that was a good show.

So anyway, how's everyone doing?

Keniko - Now that I think about it a bit more, I'm almost positive it would have been a Guitar Center thing. Because now I remember them walking up and down the line with a JS guitar and a few other Satch-endorsed products, and anyone who bought one was able to get an autograph from Joe before the event started.

Still though, I'm sure some musicians are limited by their endorsements. When I saw Paul Gilbert at the Amazing Journey tribute to the Who (with Mike Portnoy, Billy Sheehan, and Gary Cherone) back in 2006, he put tape over the Marshall logo on the amps he was playing through for that night.

I think he's since switched over to endorsing Marshall, but at the time of this gig I guess he was with someone else.

Botdra - Hi...welcome to the site. Tell us a bit about yourself.
Tuesdayschild - Thanks for the note on U2. I like them a lot, obviously, and I'm also a big fan of the Dave Matthews Band. But I differ quite a bit politically from both groups.

That's never stopped me from being a fan...I might not always agree, but it's cool that they're able to say what they want. And from an artistic point of view, I can appreciate it because it's honest.

The artists themselves don't bug me; I have more of a problem with the "fans" who put Bono or Dave Matthews up on such a high pedestal and just blindly follow everything they have to say. I feel that way about more people than just musicians, but now I'm getting a bit off topic so I'll stop. ;-)

Onto something different...have you been listening to LTE or Dream Theater any more recently? What are some of your current favorite songs?

civgeek - Hi...welcome back! A lot of people have been using the chat recently, but I think it's incompatible with the latest version of Flash so T2Jers are having a lot of problems with it now.

What do you think of PSATMOR? I don't think I've heard you say anything about it. It's too bad Joe isn't playing the northwest on this tour...are you up for a road trip to California for a show or two? ;-)

Tostado - The Coldplay thing has been posted here a few times...I think it's a bit of a stretch...
cosmic_ape - Congratulations! When exactly are you heading out here? Do you know specifically where you're thinking of living? Send me an email sometime...I can help you with any questions you may have. Or at least, once you're all settled, it'd be fun to get together for lunch or something with another Satch fan. I hope you can make it to one of Joe's November shows too...
elpp - Yeah...I got into EJ first. Satch may have been on the radio earlier, but I didn't really start listening to music on my own until about 1994. My family moved out to California and then I started listening to KLOS...and EJ. Around the same time I got the first G3 album, KLOS started playing Lights Of Heaven from Crystal Planet. And they've done a pretty good job of playing Joe's newest singles from every album he's released since then...

I do have the Alien Love Child album, and I love it. I never got to see that lineup live, though... :-(

symphonyofnames - Welcome...it's cool to hear the Rush show was good. Have you seen Satch live at all?
Listening to: Dave Matthews Band - Minarets (8/31/95; Mansfield, MA)

...Austin...
