Yes DOM I can confirm that. He's got guitar clinics in Mexico and Italy then he reckons the US tour will be like a holiday after all that!

Joe's this is my 2nd message after longtime, you are regarded as the highly advanced rock guitarist, a virtuoso, of today's era, you have mastered the technique on the instrument, legato, two hand tapping, arpeggio tapping,sweep-picking, volume swell, harmonics, extreme whammy bar effect, use of pitch axis theory. Apart from your appreciation, your recent work in 2006 on music was okay to listen. Further, being your fan, I would like to say that you need to take a break for sometime for good reason, think about a pleasure giving composition, study a treasure full of classical compositon, visit place like, australia, south africa switzerland, alaska's as holiday where nature nurture your thought, shapes your feeling makes you realize, makes you poetic, boost your artist of inside and from that thought it help you to come up with unforgetfull, phenomial, outsatnding, unique composition like friends, ceremony, always with you always with me, love thing etc thus remind me of old days back with friend in college and also keeps my spirit up and get going and turns me on most of the time etc. Thank you for the good composition and keep doing well.

Tuesdayschild - How'd the camping go this time? I assume you're back home by now? Although I just read another post that says you're off again...oh well. ;-)

VforVendetta - Hi...welcome to the site. What are some of your favorite Satch songs?

Some of the sustain in FIABD is due to feedback.

fizz450_03 - Welcome back. :-)

Hey Joe I don't know if you remember ,my son,and I.We met in San Diego at Guitar Trader. He the one is said was the only fan the has listen to tour music be for he was born. Any way he's at Basic Training for the Air Force.I'm going to watch him Graduate this Friday.I asked him if there was any thing from home I could bring. The first thing he said was to bring all his Joe cd's,and to send his JS Ibanez that you signed. He scored a 98 on the Air Force test only 1% score that high.I remember when mt wife was pregnant.I was watching TV and they said if you stimulate by using music while still in the belly your kids IQ wold be high.So i went out,and bought a walkman, and would put the head phones up to my wifes belly. He would move around like he was dancing.I would all so play classical at night to sooth him down for the night. It was so cool to this day.I give music credit for his smart brain. Fir those out there with a pregnant wife do it.You'll be blown a way,not to mention when you kid gets older you'll share the same music. last but not least.I was wondering have you ever thought about doing an Acoustic CD.I would love to hear you get down.Kind of like Steve Stevens Flaminco a go go,but with The Satch Twist. Hey have a Great day and thanks for your Great Music, and most of all thanks for giving me something that allways keeps my Son,and I close. Randy

Thanks DTS for enquiring...yes as usual it was a bit of a disaster...my car broke down, I went home for one night and borrowed a car to go and pack up my tent the next day. The weather is crap over here.

Good news is it looks like I'm romancing! Weird I know but the singer in the rock band who wrote that special song for my ex husband who died last year has expressed an interest in me.... I feel like a teenager again!

Just need to get his pesky ex gf out of the picture....she's one of the groupies!

Mr Mean my husband did that for me too when I was pregnant. Our two sons listened to Rock music since the day the bump showed! They're bright little cookies, do well at school and are very musical...so there's probably something in it!

I'm just scared that they'll turn against it, my Dad force fed me Abba and I just hated it by the time I was a teenager! It still brings me out in a rash just thinking about that music!

I like your idea about an acoustic set. Acoustic doesn't seem to suit Joes style of playing though so maybe Galen should do it instead!

How cool was Jimmy P at the Olympic Closing ceremony! Don't shoot me but I liked Leonas vocals.

Listening to Black Stone Cherry, Rain Wizard

Blue Moon, I think I'm just mad, stupid, crazy...but unless you try something you'll never know!! Sob, I've no car I'll not see you Wednesday...please keep me posted for future appearances while you're still relatively unknown, and therefore accessable to us mere mortals...

Ibanezjoan, I hope your stepdad is doing well. Thanks for the good wishes.

Thanks Keniko, Al, Slan, and anyone else who sent a prayer or good thought.

The day was LONG. Left here at 5:00 a.m., and just got home at 9:30 p.m. His admission was at 7, but his surgery wasn't until almost 10:30. We heard from the doctor at 2:10 that they removed the tumor and surrounding lymph nodes and did the colostomy. They said recovery would take a few hours. FINALLY at 7:10 I called the desk for the 5th time, and they said he was out of recovery and had a room. YAY! We could fiinally go see him and get out of the waiting room we had spent 12 hours in.

He looked really good - like nothing even happened! Of course that's because they had him jacked up on morphine and whatever else - and he has an epidural in his spine to numb him for 48 hours from his chest down. When that wears off, me tinks he won't be so chipper.

My mum will be 75 tomorrow, but she held up well. We were all sooo tired, and none of us got any sleep last night. She was a trooper, but her bum was dragging hard before we left. She just wanted to see my pop before we left to make sure he was okay. We spent about an hour with him before we headed out for the hour ride back home.

Problem was - we went with my sisters effin GPS thing, and it took us a way we never went before, over the turnpike, and the looooong way. I had to call my husband 2x for emergency directions because this feckin thing was insane! It was telling us to go ways that I knew were so far out of the way. Once I finally got to a road I knew, I told my sis to throw the fucker out the window and just DRIVE the way I know to get home. FFS! We were almost home and it was telling us to take an exit that would have taken us way out of the way. I'm supposed to take my mom to the hospital on Wednesday. It should be a feckin adventure for sure since I was supposed to scam the proper way home - which we DIDN'T take. LOL!

If I said I was spent, that just wouldn't cover it. We're all so happy we finally got to see my pop at the end of the day. We just hope and pray they got all the cancer.

We googled directions now, and I sent them to my sis for her drive 2mo. It should be 100x LESS stressful. lol! I just hope I can get there and back without getting lost on Wednesday when it's my turn to take me mum.

I literally just closed my eyes and fell asleep sitting here for a minute.

I'm fer bed!

Namaste

Kilgelec - Yeah, the EP is a nice collector's item...I'd love to come across one someday. I was talking to Jeff after a G3 show last year (it took me like 15 shows to win the contest here, hehe...and technically it was my dad, not me, who won), and he said he thinks Joe still has boxes and boxes of them lying around somewhere. It'd be nice to see them put up for sale/auction at some point...

As for the music on the EP, you've heard 4 of the 5 songs if you have Joe's Time Machine. I have an MP3 of the other song (Talk To Me)...it wasn't included because its master tape was damaged. I can upload that if you'd like to hear it (and if someone else doesn't beat me to it).

And about meeting Joe...if you wait by his bus after the show chances are pretty good that you'll meet him. Be prepared to wait at least 90 minutes though...

Tuesdayschild - That's too bad about the weather...hopefully camping will work out for you eventually. ;-)

It's good to hear about the possible relationship...I hope that works out for you, even though it is a bit of a sticky situation. Let us know how that goes...

I'm still single...I'm somewhat shy (I bet that sounds crazy considering how much I have to say here) so I don't meet many women, but it seems like I've failed in every possible way (friend of a friend at a party, co-worker at a new job, set-up by a friend, new co-worker at my job, and the list just goes on). Oh well...

michelle - It sounds like your stepdad's surgery went well. As you said, hopefully they were able to get all of the cancer. Please keep us posted (after you get plenty of sleep, of course)...
Listening to: U2 - War [2-CD remastered edition] (current song: Drowning Man)

I finally got a chance to give this a proper listen, and I think it's the best of the three remasters. The acoustic guitar really comes through here. I haven't listened to this album in a long time, as I've been on a big The Unforgettable Fire and Achtung Baby kick, but it's such a good one. Anyway, all of these remasters are great...buy them.

...Austin...
