This years books for college $$$$!! What a feckin laugh riot that is.

Mckenna, I finally seen my first Irishmen, Paul Hession, in this Olympics, and he BLEW past the rest of the guys in the 200m race. They all slowed down (like they do) and he sped up. lmao!! I got so excited I started screaming that a feckin Irishmen won! lmao! I still don't understand why the hell they slow down as they approach the line. My question is, how many does Ireland have representing in this Olympics?

Looks like this dude's arm snapped like a twig at his elbow. That had to suck!

Did anyone see the trampoline thing tonight? Feckin' hilarious! I had no idea the trampoline was an olympic sport. lol!

How do you keep track of a conversation here? I get in daily and there are like 24363150961093546 new messages!!!

Anyway... I guess it'd be fair if I introduce myself:

Sergio Croquer, Caracas, Venezuela. Been playing electric guitar since 2000. I'm in a hardcore-trash band althought I have my soloist project in wich I try to mix rock-jazz fusion with electronics :)

Hope to share some good experiences in this sort of everlasting chat :)

I'm an irreparable fan of the Stones. Therefore I've been pleasantly surprised to listen in Joe's Caracas interview that a Stones show has been his best show as attendant.
Joe seems to have good memories from his one year tour with Mick.

REVAN 2008 - I saw Indy 4. It was awesome to see a new Indy movie in the theaters, but that's the only thing I liked about it.

I thought it was trying too hard to be like current movies, and it felt more like the Mummy 3 instead of Indy 4. I saw the first Mummy and thought it was lame, and a cheap rip-off of the Indy franchise. So Indy 4 seemed like it was ripping off a rip-off.

I don't know anything about Blackadder, but I've heard a lot of people mention it. Can you give me a brief summary? Do you know if it's available on DVD in the US?

I'll pretend you didn't say you were watching Friends...I've seen a few episodes and I think it's crap. I guess that's harsh, as everyone likes different things, but I don't know...it just seems way too formulaic and watered down to be interesting to me.

cheese101 - Hmmm...did you maybe see Steve Vai at the Warfield? He toured on Real Illusions: Reflections in 2005.

Thanks for posting that Satch interview. It's cool to hear him talk about Aerosmith...they were my first favorite band (Satch overtook them a few years ago); I had no idea Joe was influenced by them. Very cool...

Zinc Master - Chinese Democracy could be the Beatles' White Album, Led Zeppelin's IV, and Pink Floyd's Dark Side Of The Moon and it wouldn't live up to the hype. Expectations are SO high for this album, and they get higher every day the fans have to wait. I think it should've been released a few years ago and Axl should've spent more time making the follow-up his "masterpiece."
Mahavishnu - Did you say your wife was going to the San Francisco show too? Have her bring a purse, and you can put a small camera in the very bottom under something made of fabric that's the same color as the inside lining of the purse.
vksolanki - There isn't going to be a DVD of last year's G3 tour. Satch recorded a DVD earlier this year though...I imagine we'll have it by Christmas.
michelle - I saw some of those weightlifting photos the other day at work. We have a Getty Images account at the newspaper, and it just looked SO painful seeing photos of it from so many angles from all of the different photographers. Ouch...
sercro - Hi...welcome to the site! :-)

Things get busy here every now and then...your best bet is to visit at least once a day, and if you can't get through all of the posts just mark everything as read so you don't get too overwhelmed.

Anyway, tell us a bit about yourself. How'd you get into Satch? What other bands do you like? You said you try to mix rock and jazz with electronics in your music, so what do you think of Joe's Engines Of Creation album?

Hi Joe - I've been listening to every track I have from you over the last two weeks and just can't get fed up of them, ever. BUT I (think I) noticed something - there aren't any songs about the Oceans and I figured that's an interesting source for inspiration. You obviously love flying and space/sci-fi so what's up with water - do you have a phobia LOL

Blue Moon - whoah, that explosions song is cool. Look forward to seeing it and/or the gig on Youtube. Let us know when it's posted

njbeast - I know what you mean. One minute you know exactly what you want to say/ask, then you realise your listening so intently and everything goes out the window. Good though innit : )

Igneousiceman - not that I'm cynical, but I guess they don't get it right first time round so that we have to come back for more - or so some peeps have to pay for tech support? We kicked butt in cycling so far, hope Wiggo can make three gold

Do The Stu - if I make a US show I'll sacrifice free In'n'out for some local advice if that's ok so I'll let you know when I know. I'm holding fire for the minute based around a contract extension and a job offer. Then I have to pick a good venue : ) but I guess one with a lot of T2J fans and at Joe's city would be the one!

I really enjoyed X Files movie 1, so how does it rank with that? Love the characters and the actors so am sure it'll be good for me. As for Batman, I really liked the portrayal of Batman by Michael Keaton but I thought the stories and the subsequent movies were "pants". Christian Bale nailed it for me in Batman Returns so I'll get to The Dark Knight soon (hoped it would be on the plane but alas....)

Revan2008 - I think Newport is the only Wales gig they're doing.

Roo - nice collection. Dude, no way would I ask you to post a hi-res image. I've heard at least one dubious guitar shop recreate Donnies from other peoples hi-res. Just wondered if you'd email one of the front as a comparison to mine? I have number 16, you have another and Rich has all the rest ; ) LOL No worries if not. Do you play them all?

Satriella - hello

I've just added a couple vids to my Youtoob channel that someone emailed over - My Youtoob Channel

If you want direct links you can use these A Prank

Cute animals thing

Meanwhile, here's Paul Gilbert playing Addicted to that Rush - his guitar breaks, and so he swaps to bass. Sorry if this has been posted before. But is he really having tech probs? It's fun anyway

You may be right about the new GNR (if it ever comes out).

It will be soo picked apart when it is released - I may just feel bad for it.

I will probably listen to it online first (at least the 30 sec clips) and if it is any good, will probably get it - but not sure.

I am just curious - I hope it is good.

Revdom/DoTheStu: Here's a clip of Blackadder (the fourth series). Supremely funny comedy. Episode1

I saw the recent Indiana Jones and thought it was good, but saw Mummy3 on Monday...I thought that was far too predictable. Oh, and a terrible english accent by Mrs. whateverhernamewas. Maybe I'm too cynical, but it's ages since I saw a really good new movie (apart from The Simpsons movie, that was great) =D

Joe Satrini: Aren't we Brits great?! Something like 12 medals at the velodrome...pity about Cav and Wiggins though. Poor Cav, he's the only member of the team without a medal!! As for Hoy, well, 'the real McHoy' as a banner said. Great stuff... I suppose it's not too bad if you can do the tech support yourself eh? =D

Ahh i always like friends-it s a bit bittersweet and dam sharp to.

anyway blackadder.

blackadder is the main character and always has his man servant baldrick.

hes generally a b**stard really, but a funny one and some of the lines are razor sharp.

2 and 3 are set in yee old days and 4 was set in the trench of WW1. and its a very good satire on the mess that was WW1. hes actually a good guy of sorts in this series. and the last episode always brings a lump to my throat. also its historically pretty spot on, its true that in france poppy fields grew over many of the killing fields and so on.also although some of the characters are overblown stephen fry and hugh lauries characters would 'nt have been to far off some of the real characters in britains army at the time.

general trivia-my grandad gave me my great uncles medals from WW1. he went over to france and was dead before christmas-he didnt even get to see the medals. also a most treasured possesion is an engraved tobacco tin sent out to the troops from the queen. inside it had a christmas card from the queen, two pouches of tobacco. he never got to smoke them either.

I wonder if that student would have still shot that austrain fella if he'd have known what would have escalted, because basically WW1 and the germans losing gave rise to the Nazi party and hence WW2-hence the cold war. even the current iraq war can be put down to errors made during this period.

erm anyway-laters-blackadders rel good and only has 6 episodes per series so it wont take long to whiz though them DTS-not sure if avaibale in states-they would be on BBC DVD.

Hey Joe and to Everyone out there,

It has been a while since I wrote to you all. Been busy with work, running, etc. On a positive note, I get to start a new job at a new Holiday Inn Hotel that is being built. CAN'T WAIT TO START!!! It should finish up in about another week or two. As for my other hotel job (the Hilton), I will only do part-time there. YES, THAT'S RIGHT, I AM WORKING FOR BOTH HOTELS!!! Now I have to wait 90 days until my probation is up so I can get my benefits back. It will be a challenge to work in two hotels. At least I will be working at the Holiday Inn more (FULL-TIME, YEAH BABY!!!) HOSPITALITY ROCKS!!!!

As for running, I am taking some days off because one night I ended up with RLS: Restless-Legs-Syndrome (way too much running). Next two races are half-marathons. My body (legs mostly) better not give me problems.

I just finished listening to the entire Crystal Planet CD (awesome!). Gonna listen to it again and then start listening to Engines of Creation. Joe, how awesome that you will be in Chicago and Cleveland. Got to try to be at one of those cities to see you (maybe try to get Meet & Greet Tickets).

The 2008 Beijing Olympics are awesome (despite China winning about every medal in all the events). One of my friends has the game of it on XBOX 360 (REALLY COOL!!!). One of the pieces of music sounded like Satriani's: Ice 9. Have to listen to it again to make sure it is.

Gotta go. I got work at my "part-time" job. Workers will be glad to see me again.

Deuces y'all.

Woohoo...my first of three Dave Matthews Band shows this week is tonight.

If you want to follow along from home (haha), go here:

http://road.davematthewsband.com/SetlistsDir/setlist.asp

The show should start by 8:15 or 8:30 Pacific time (T2J time).

Blue_Moon - That's a great video, but man...it's OLD. I think it may be older than YouTube...haha. Thanks for posting it though, no matter how many times I've seen it it's always good for a laugh. I love how the cameraman keeps filming at first.
Joe Satrini - What about Day At The Beach (New Rays From An Ancient Sun)? Although I guess that's next to the water, not in the water...and it could be a lake instead of an ocean.

I think the first X-Files movie is better than the second, but they're hard to compare. The show was still on the air when the first one was in theaters, and that one was tied into the show's mythology while the second one is just a standalone.

One of the things that makes the X-Files my favorite TV show is that there was always strong focus on the art of each scene...I liked it for the technical side just as much as the story side. And this new movie is just as strong in both areas.

On to Batmans, Michael Keaton was my favorite until Christian Bale. He's one of my favorite actors, so that's cool...

Zinc Master - I'm curious about the new GNR, but I'm not sure if I'll actually buy it. It's such a different band at this point and it should have a totally different name.

I saw Velvet Revolver back in February at what ended up being their last U.S. show before Scott Weiland left. It really struck me how professional all of those guys were, and how dedicated they were to putting on a good show. My first thought after that concert was "Man, these guys are GOOD...and I'm so mad at Axl." Even Scott was extremely professional compared to him.

Igneousiceman - Thanks for the Blackadder clip.

The Simpsons Movie was very fun...I still need to buy that on DVD, actually. Shame on me.

Are you much of a sci-fi fan? Are you familiar with the show Firefly, created by Joss Whedon (of Buffy and Angel fame)...? The show aired for half a season in 2002 before it was cancelled, and they made a movie, Serenity, in 2005. That's an excellent film...

...Austin...
