Hello everyone, I see that Joe has a gig set for Phoenix AZ Dodge Theater on Nov 9, 2008. Is this a "Joe" gig or "Joe with G3" gig ?? Curious to know who is playing. (Saw G3 last year with JP and PG...2007..........incredible- been a fan since mid 80s)

Any info would help. Thanks. (my 1st time logged in)

Dear Clarky . . . I hoped to meet you at one of Joe's gigs earlier this year but Sandy said you wasn't able to make it. I have heard your work and think its it AWESOME. Sandy is a very close friend of mine.

So sad to read that . . . In my own time of darkness i hold out my hand to you and say how sorry i am that you've lost a loved one.

I have lost many loved ones over the years and it breaks my heart to know someone is feeling the same pain as i once did.

My deepest sympathies to you Paul

Blue_Moon - Yeah, the last two shows are Reno and SF. Those cities are 200+ miles, 3 1/2 hours, and a tough mountain range apart, though, so flying into SF early and then getting to Reno on your own would be difficult. If you wanted to see both shows I think you'd have to fly into Reno the morning of that show and fly out of SF (a few days later, of course...give yourself time to see the city). Otherwise you might be limited to only the SF show.

I'm sure us T2Jers will help you out as much as we can, but we're a bit limited. I'm going to the LA show the night before Reno, so I'll be busy with a long drive that morning. And then I think most of the other T2Jers will be flying in from the northwest, so they'll be dealing with their own travel issues.

Depending on your plans I can help you out with a ride from Reno to SF and maybe a place to sleep between those Satch gigs, or with a ride from the SF airport to the venue the morning of that show, but I think that's it.

Let me know what you decide...

Clarky - Sorry to hear that...I don't think I talked to her directly very often here at T2J, but I do remember her. She was a presence on this board at one time and she will be missed.
hybes - Yeah, I saw some of the swimming last night...the level of practice that must require is just insane. But we're all Satch fans so I'm sure we understand what dedication can accomplish in other areas...haha.

I haven't watched too much of the Olympics (working at a newspaper I've been reading all about them, though), but I've enjoyed what I've seen so far.

Fakhr - Awesome, it's cool that you caught that. Was Summer Song just aired in the background by your TV network, or did you hear it in the background meaning it was actually being played in Beijing?
nipsey - The upcoming North American tour is a Joe Satriani headlining tour...you can expect two hours of Satch.

Mountain is opening, so it's possible Joe will bring Leslie West out to jam during his encore each night, in which case he might bring other guests out for informal G3s in each city, but we won't know until the tour starts...

We will be driving to Reno, then driving to San Fran the morning after the Reno show, so there's the possibility of a ride that way too Mckenna, if you fly into Reno. We're staying at a hotel right next door to where Joe is playing in Reno too, if u wanna stay at the same place that night.

Thunk about it. It can be done quite easily.

Chelle, are you getting ANY of my emails??? :( I dunno what's wrong if not.

man, this format SUCKS!!! Why not change it to a modern forum engine like every other site has done? It'd be a lot better for those of us who don't want to sift through people's emotional baggage, drivel, and small talk (which have nothing to do with Joe Satriani or his music) in order to talk about Joe, his music, equipment, technique etc etc...Seriously!

Wooleyman..EXACTLY!!! What the hell do Wolf2's 3800 posts have to do with Joe Satriani?...absolutely nothing! It's crap like that that deters people from visiting this site to talk about Joe. Seriously, I don't understand why you people don't all just hook up on Facebook and MSN. Satch fans don't want to hear about the intimate details of your daily lives...There are other forums for this type of fluff, and if this one were converted into a more user friendly format, you could even have give these people who talk about anything but Joe, their own section. Please consider it...

Blue Moon, why should we have to go to another Satriani forum away from Joe's own official site to talk about Joe? That's ridiculous...This site should be leading by example, not struggling to keep up with modern times....

Well I was gona go a day or 2 before the first show anyways, jus for fun and to get used tot he J lag n stuff, then whatever happens after that happens i figured! + 3.5 hrs drive is not far at all

And if u wanted Luini to change the forum layout it would take about two years ;)

Im used to it its different, just awkward for new people to come aboard, its more like a blog sometimes, but meh its fine, chats a little out dated though...
