anibur - I think Chickenfoot can be considered everyone's band now, but if you had to pick one person I'd say it's Sammy's project. It definitely isn't Joe's, as some of the earliest mentions of the band (such as this) don't mention Satch at all.

Michael Anthony hasn't done much outside of Van Halen, so it doesn't seem like he'd be the one to start a new band like this. And while Chad Smith has done a bit of work outside of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, but it's usually as a sideman. So that leaves Sammy...and when you look at all the different projects he's done over the years, it's easy to see that this fits right in.

I get the feeling you were half kidding with your original comment, but I thought it was worth a reply anyway...

Joe Satrini: Hmmm, it does sound oddly like a book title that....=D You been watching The Tour Of Britain? One of the guys in the breakaway yesterday (that got caught about 6km from the finish) used to live down the road from me. Yeh, that's my claim to fame. There's no doubt about Lance kicking ass, it's just whose and how much we should be wondering about...That's pretty cool that you raced Formula Ford and F3, I sometimes drive them on the computer. (not quite the same) How did all that turn out for you? Oh, and I definetely have the deadliest virus on earth today. All phlegmy and 'orrible...(bet y'all really wanted to know that...;-)

Joe Walsh is a very good guitarist. Just thought you should all know that. But then so are these two.

Just had my first band practice in about 5 months, and it went very well (surprisingly). Roll on the first gig!

When Arthur Davidson, inventor of the Harley Davidson motorcycle died, he went up to Heaven. One day he said to God "You invented Women right?" "Yes that's right" said God. "Well" said Arthur "I think your invention has some major design flaws" God looked irritated but kept quiet, so Arthur continued, 1/ there's too much inconsistency in the front end protrusion. 2/ it chatters constantly at high speeds. 3/ most of the rear ends wobble too much. 4/ the maintenance costs are outrageous. God thought about this and said "you know you're right" Arthur smiled smugly, until God added, " but more men are riding my invention than riding yours"

Ugh ! I was going through a box of old stuff I've been saving for years, and I came across a Fall 1992 Guitar Legends magazine. It was all on Stevie Ray Vaughan front to back, his life and death. Geez I miss him...I can't believe it's been so many years already.

anibur - Yeah, the Chickenfoot stuff is a bit up in the air at the moment. But one of the things I like most about the project is that they're all such cool guys (well, at least three of them...I don't know much about Chad Smith, but if the others like him I'm pretty sure he's the same way). They're great musicians...they know their stuff, but at the same time they don't take themselves too seriously.

I saw Sammy Hagar and the Wabos in concert last month, and Michael Anthony came out, just because, and played bass for half of Sammy's set. They had the biggest smiles on their faces the entire time, too. There's no egos, it's just fun.

I'm not sure what my point is...I guess I'm saying that it's probably going to be "everyone's" band and that'll be awesome. And I think that feeling is going to come across in the music, and I'm going to love it.

To answer your other question, the website's icon hasn't changed for me. It's a silver JS logo on a black background (the same JS that's in the background here on the T2J page). If you're using an old browser, maybe you're getting the previous image? That was an EOC-era (or earlier) image of Joe's face on a black background.

conner22 - If you look through the early reviews of the European and Australian shows you can probably piece together a setlist. Crushing Day and Out Of The Sunrise were dropped in Europe, and Motorcycle Driver was added in Australia (I think it may have replaced War, but I'm not sure if that one was ever in the set).

Joe is playing most of the new album, including Ghosts (the iTunes bonus track)...I think he's playing everything except Professor Satchafunkilus, Come On Baby, OOTS, and Asik Veysel. I think the song Super Colossal is in the set, but I think the albums from Crystal Planet through Is There Love In Space? are left out. Time Machine and Cryin' are in the set. You'll get Cool #9, Summer Song, Flying In A Blue Dream, and maybe One Big Rush and/or The Mystical Potato Head Groove Thing. From Surfing With The Alien, you'll get Ice Nine and Always..., and maybe Circles and/or SWTA. And Stu Hamm will have a bass solo in there too.

I think that's pretty close to what the set is...
