Hey Joe,

I thought about this some more, I really think the idea of the sketch for each song is a great idea. How cool to have a little sketch that represents something about the song, like a scribbled Joe flying in a Blue Dream, a train with angels around it, or with wings, a bunch of fast moving clouds, a cool time machine contraption, a view looking up at a super colossal Joe...

A cool motorcycle driver, a cryin' face, a belly dancer.. LOL

I can almost picture them in my head already!

Please start the collection with a couple. It wouldn't take long and would be very cool.

Anyone else think so?

Roo

Tuesdayschild - Sorry to hear that things didn't work out, but if what you've said recently is true I think it'll work out for the better this way.

As far as break-up songs go, well, Satch doesn't have any good ones. Trust me, I've figured that out...haha. I'd say the obvious choice is the J. Geils Band's Love Stinks. ;-)

I don't know if you're much of a Dave Matthews Band fan, but their music is good for that kind of thing. It's not depressing/mopey, but it has more of a "live for the moment" and "make the best of what you've got" feeling.

Joe Satrini - Thanks for the reminder...I'll read through the SC email in a bit.
wolf2 - My dinner was chicken strips with hot sauce and a pizza ring (cheese and pepperoni stuffed inside a ring of dough, with pizza sauce on the side for dipping) from this Italian place down the street from work.
roo - I think that'd be a really cool idea...I'm not sure how some of them could be put into words, though. But I guess that'd be what would make it fun.
Listening to: Jeff Buckley - Live At Sin-e (current song: Unforgiven (Last Goodbye))

Are there any Jeff Buckley fans here? There's an awesome cover of Led Zeppelin's Night Flight on this live album I'm listening to.

Joe, have you thought about releasing a Naked Tracks series of CD's similar to what Steve Vai did recently? I'm a guitarist of course and loving the naked tracks Vai released which have all the music but leave out the lead guitar track, allowing guitarists to jam with the song! It's great and seeing that you're my favorite guitarist and even more prolific with more great melodic tunes, I'm hoping and praying you may do something similar with some of your most popular tunes.

I think a Satriani Naked Tracks series of CD's and tracks on iTunes would sell like hot cakes!

Dave Mathews Band are massive stateside, but barely known over here.....and believe it or not I've never heard a single tune of theirs!

I listened to some Stone Sour (the slow ones) yesterday in the car accidentally (I'd forgotten it was in the CD player) and it was too much to bear. I'd much hope, he was a besotted man, I thought this time it wasn't bull....

I ended it but I can't believe how upset I am....

Bloody ex gf she should have stayed out of it...threes a crowd....

That idea of a CD with just backing tracks of Satch songs - I'd buy those the moment they went on sale! Yes there are already websites that have backing tracks, but they're not the real thing and u can tell inmediately.

I just realized DTS passed the 3,000 post milestone recently. This calls for a celebration! Austin, please send us all a cake to conmemorate this. Full cake, not a slice.
'Cause I'll have you know, in Mexico the birthday boy buys his own cake............Or at least that's what I've been told.................wait a minute................I'll be right back.........

Hey Roo, this link keeps looping into itself:

http://roo.emu.id.au/newsatch/?q=CommercialCDs

Are you putting songs up on your website? Or you are just acknowledging that you have a certain album in your collection? 'Cause I thought it was the latter, but your post from earlier today implied to me that the songs were available for a listen.

Very cool site by the way!!

Tuesdayschild - Do you know anything about DMB? I can send you a few songs so you get a taste of their sound, if you'd like. It's obviously very different from the instrumental guitar and classic rock stuff most people talk about around here, but the musicianship is on the same level.

I like Through Glass by Stone Sour (I heard that through a friend), but I saw them in concert twice last year (they headlined a show with Lacuna Coil, who I'm a big fan of, and Shadows Fall, who were pretty good too) and I didn't like it. Corey Taylor came across as having a huge ego...or maybe it was just the crowd who were so fanatical, but either way there was an attitude I didn't like.

Hugsamuchilus - I bet the DVD (and CD?) will be out around November, in time for Christmas.
elpp - Thanks for the happy 3,000. ;-) I won't be buying cake, though, as I'm nowhere near the top as far as number of posts goes. Yeah, that's my excuse...
Igneousiceman - The guy on the far right of the picture on your school's homepage looks so out of place...haha.

JSPhil: That is one niiice bike my friend. Lovely seat tube don't you think? (god that sounded geeky...) Carbon fibre though...bit risky! Bet it would be an absolute joy to ride.

DTS: It's surprising how many people in pictures taken for course booklets etc. look sooo out of place. They even reversed on image for a booklet. Now why bother doing a thing like that?! Anyway, that's enough of me rambling about oddities...=D

Anyone else heard about Windows 7? I only just got vista, and now they're on about a new one...geez.

DTS, I wikipedia's DMB, but I'm not familiar with any of it. I'd like it very much if you could send me something, it's not possible to PM my email address to you is it? I think my email is on my profile anyway...click my name....

It was Through the Glass that came on my CD player yesterday, great song, and I've heard that before about Corey Taylor, I think you're right about the ego.

I think I messed up big time ending things with that guy, maybe I should have just accepted ex gf's presence, it's not like he was still involved with her in THAT way, although she did have the annoying habit of telling people she was his girlfriend. I'm really regretting it now, but I texted him and I think it's too late...he says I'm confusing him, that I'd said I didn't want contact from him anymore. He says he doesn't think he needs another relationship....

I'm a dumb sh*t

Igneousiceman - Assuming you're still watching it, have you seen me on LISF yet?

Tuesdayschild - I'm leaving for work in a few minutes, but I'll send you some DMB stuff later tonight. I see your email address in your profile here so that's good.

It's really hard to describe the band's sound. I guess you could call it acoustic rock, but with the sax jazz is just as much a part of it too. And then their violinist plays a lot of pentatonic stuff, which is almost bluesy. But yeah, I'll send you some stuff. They do a killer version of All Along The Watchtower...I think I'll start with that.

About the guy, I think you're really better off without having to deal with that whole situation. If his ex disappears maybe consider something, but I wouldn't bother with it now. At this point it sounds like you may be able to at least salvage a friendship, which would probably be good considering his connection to your ex.

...Austin...
