iTunes problems - there's an equally useful bit of kit for Windows called WinPatrol that identifies processes & gives info on whether they are safe/malware, ok to disable, etc. As soon as something new gets added to the PC (like an itunes service) it asks if you want to allow it to run... the pro (paid) version is best, but they also let you have a free version with less functiionality

Do The Stu - thanks, it just came out that way. Guess I was in the right frame of mind. You had a chance to read through the SC email?

Tuesdayschild - thanks for subscribing. More torture will be posted soon I'm sure - once the finger I put a knife through heals up (DOH!). Yep, weird about clickable links, my fault for adding them that way. I've resent them for ya. Sorry to hear about the break up - go with the get drunk plan.... if you need a new fella I think Al's single by the way - if you can get past his two Yankee mum's ; )

Igneousiceman - so you'd have been known to him as pram boy LOL. Had an email from a bike shop I've ordered from before... so I browsed their site and saw this ... bicycle ... and I'm liking it a lot...

Cheese - good find on that Guitar Superstar vid. Loved her playing and the lil commentary from Joe & Steve. Oh, and 64 years, wow that's impressive. Congrats to them

JS1200JS1000 - hope he's got a good stock of sharpies on him then! Did you see my uber cool t-shirt (on the Thinking of You vid)? It's the best one I own ; b

Michelle - jump around always reminds me of Happy Gilmore

Blue Moon - isn't Joe's pickup height 11mm?!? Ah, SQL... or squirrel. Best of luck with that!

Hey Joe,

I'll be at the minneapolis show, along with my colleage and 3 of our kids. We're both chiropractors, so if you or anybody in the band or crew need pre-show aligments, let me know as we'd be happy to oblige. This will be our fourth show here (state theatre, orpheum, the Mpls. bar that I can't recall at the moment - wow was that cool) and this will be the first one with our kids and they are pumped. See you then.

wolfie....I had....coffee for dinner. Oh, and some grapes.

So last night we took my folks out for dinner for their 64th anniversary. Had a nice meal together, them, myself and my one brother (we won't talk about the other brother :(

After we got done eating, my folks reminisced about how they met, and what their life has been like. My dad says he met my mom by saving her in a swimming pool...he was in Australia during WWII in the army...and he saw his best friend trying to dunk this cute lil Aussie girl. So he went to her defense and dunked his friend instead.

He says she was the most beautiful girl he'd ever seen, and was the curviest, cutest thing in her modest lil one-piece bathing suit...said she filled it out "nicely" LOL.....and that bikini's these days got nuthin on what she was wearing ;) He only had eyes for her from that point on....

...and of course at this point in the conversation my mum pipes up and says...."yes and he had the nicest TEETH you ever did see :) LOL!!! Well, that and she said he had fetching legs in his bathing suit, lol....

They dated for about 5 or 6 months before he proposed. And on his wedding day, his sargeant was so jealous that my dad was getting married and his bride was there, when the sargeant's wife was back in the states....that he made my dad scrub all the toilets before he could leave for his wedding :| But he did it, because as he says...."what could you do, you did whatever you were told without complaint".

They had two weeks together after the wedding before my dad shipped out again, and my mom stayed in Oz...they were apart for two years until he finally shipped back home to the states, and sent for her. She arrived here in Klamath Falls and made the papers....the headline said "LOCAL BOY WEDS AUSSIE GIRL" and had their pictures with the article. What can I say, guess it was big news back then in a small town, LOL!!! We still have the newspaper clippings.

My mom had no idea how to cook, and when she got here she and my dad moved in with his parents for a time until they could get their own place. My gramma and my mom, and my great-gramma loved each other on sight, hit it right off, and my gramma taught my mom how to cook everything from scratch. She still cooks that way today.

My dad says now, that he's been a very lucky man for 64 good years, and he figgers my mom has had to put up with a lot more than he had to put up with, lmao!

Then they started telling stories about us kids, how he would stick my brother Jay up on top of the refrigerator and tell him to "JUMP"....which he did, into our dad's arms, no fears.

OH, AND....I found out when I was a baby, my brother stuck me on the top bunk bed, then fergot me and I fell off onto the hardwood floor....proof positive that's what's wrong with me today FFS!!!!!

It was a lovely evening, and my dad cried a bit, and my mom smiled and contradicted his stories now and then....ya can't beat a love story that's 64 years old and still going strong.....

God Bless my mom and dad.

Drake the Snake: As long as they are Ibanez guitars, Joe should be happy to sign them.

Just watch out for where to store them during the concert, they usually have a cloak room at our venues.

Hey, I am having enormous fun with the site, I've put in google maps mashups for the satch venues now! Here's one to look at: http://roo.emu.id.au/newsatch/?q=node/965.

I'm working on a "tour map" as a mashup, so you'll see a line all over the globe where you can follow tours. And other cool stuff.

What would be awesome would be if Joe would make a set of his sketches for each song he's ever recorded, then I could use each one as a picture for that track. How 'bout it Joe? That's a unique idea. You could be the only musician in history that pairs every song with a logo. It could be a cool way to project more of your feeling into the titles.

I volunteer to manage the database, you need only forward the jpegs to me... :)

I tell you what though, it's a LOT of work entering all the old information like venues, dates, locations, performances, songs, tracks, CDs, media, blah, blah... Hope it's of use to someone.

And to think, I still have to attach mp3 samples to it all.

BTW: the duration fields are populated, the web server code just has an issue displaying them, I'm working on it.

I've also found it's a cool resource to track down particular performances of a favourite song, If you like listening to "super colossol" for instance, you can go to the "tracks" page (http://roo.emu.id.au/newsatch/?q=alltracks) and look it up, then see all the different recorded versions to get the one you want to hear!

I also need help though, if you are ever browsing it and see something wrong or missing, please leave a not or email me and I'll research it to get it added or get it accurate.

Thanks, Roo

Hey Joe,

I thought about this some more, I really think the idea of the sketch for each song is a great idea. How cool to have a little sketch that represents something about the song, like a scribbled Joe flying in a Blue Dream, a train with angels around it, or with wings, a bunch of fast moving clouds, a cool time machine contraption, a view looking up at a super colossal Joe...

A cool motorcycle driver, a cryin' face, a belly dancer.. LOL

I can almost picture them in my head already!

Please start the collection with a couple. It wouldn't take long and would be very cool.

Anyone else think so?

Roo

Tuesdayschild - Sorry to hear that things didn't work out, but if what you've said recently is true I think it'll work out for the better this way.

As far as break-up songs go, well, Satch doesn't have any good ones. Trust me, I've figured that out...haha. I'd say the obvious choice is the J. Geils Band's Love Stinks. ;-)

I don't know if you're much of a Dave Matthews Band fan, but their music is good for that kind of thing. It's not depressing/mopey, but it has more of a "live for the moment" and "make the best of what you've got" feeling.

Joe Satrini - Thanks for the reminder...I'll read through the SC email in a bit.
wolf2 - My dinner was chicken strips with hot sauce and a pizza ring (cheese and pepperoni stuffed inside a ring of dough, with pizza sauce on the side for dipping) from this Italian place down the street from work.
roo - I think that'd be a really cool idea...I'm not sure how some of them could be put into words, though. But I guess that'd be what would make it fun.
Listening to: Jeff Buckley - Live At Sin-e (current song: Unforgiven (Last Goodbye))

Are there any Jeff Buckley fans here? There's an awesome cover of Led Zeppelin's Night Flight on this live album I'm listening to.

Joe, have you thought about releasing a Naked Tracks series of CD's similar to what Steve Vai did recently? I'm a guitarist of course and loving the naked tracks Vai released which have all the music but leave out the lead guitar track, allowing guitarists to jam with the song! It's great and seeing that you're my favorite guitarist and even more prolific with more great melodic tunes, I'm hoping and praying you may do something similar with some of your most popular tunes.

I think a Satriani Naked Tracks series of CD's and tracks on iTunes would sell like hot cakes!

Dave Mathews Band are massive stateside, but barely known over here.....and believe it or not I've never heard a single tune of theirs!

I listened to some Stone Sour (the slow ones) yesterday in the car accidentally (I'd forgotten it was in the CD player) and it was too much to bear. I'd much hope, he was a besotted man, I thought this time it wasn't bull....

I ended it but I can't believe how upset I am....

Bloody ex gf she should have stayed out of it...threes a crowd....
