Want to hear another funny story?

So I bought this JS Black Dog right. Awesome guitar, and was so stoked I got it early, the first one released in the world! Well before the rest started shipping. But it came without a case or certificate.

I did my research and was sure (but still took a chance) that the case and cert would still be supplied.

So over the last month I've been discussing this with HoshinoGakki and my case and cert gets shipped a week or so ago! Now that Joe's signed the certificates...

Wooohooooo!

So what happens? I get notification it got to Australia, and was shipped to me last Thursday OVERNIGHT courier.

It's now Tuesday morning.... The Courier has no record of it being picked up and it's LOST!

Oh crap. It makes it all the way to Australia and get's lost on the last 300kms to me! I tell you Murphy has a lot to answer for!

Sorry Michelle. Don't mean to step on anyone's toes. I always manage to whenever I open my mouth ;)

Austin....you hit the nail on the head on the subject of Led Zep. I think the whole world wants to see it happen..

Has anyone out there picked up a "Satchurator" pedal yet? I'm looking for comments on it's performance..

Someone sent me this vid of a bird dancing... here

I prefer Planet US over Chicken foot (don't like the image), but not keen on either. Maybe they should be Jam Sandwich, am sure it'll be something random but cool

JS1200JS1000 - Hell Yeah!!!! LOL How's your clock watching going? Must be only a coupla days now....

Do The Stu - nothing wrong with not being annoyed at the cute girl who gave you the flu.... LOL As far as youtoob, I often open the link and then hit pause and go back to it....anyhow, I know there's whatever there is on Additional Creations, then there's Dog, Tumble, Ghosts... what else?

Tuesdayschild - glad you're feeling better, how's the back/flu? I've suffered with both recently so feel for ya. But don't give up on Muso's - they're fun. I suppose that cliche's still good though. So Bluey's in spain? He's in the US in a few weeks - what a holiday monster (and money bags LOL). What if you made a contribution to his beer fund to get those MP3's? How about it Blue Moon - you'd do anything for a beer right? That's what DCK reckons ; )

Hugsamuchilus - hi, is that a permanent change (name)? All good here ta, and with you I think. All the full songs on that CD are or were 'out there' at some point. I also got sent the top gun theme (which isn't Joe obv), and possibly Mission impossible too - but I figured that was JP. There was also a very Vai sounding Flintstones....

maritime - cool picture of Joe & Sammy!

Igneousiceman - ah, mudguards... and reflectors - always the first thing to get ditched on a bike in our family. I haven't checked the bottom gear length, I think you get to choose your own setup. Sunday was cool, shame Lewis didn't win as I think those extra points (including those he's lost along the way) could prove handy (just like the ones he needed last year)... fingers crossed for him in the remaining races. For PG has to be GOOMY or SFBADR - the latest two. I think go for GOOMY as it progresses nicely into SFBADR if you then want that

Roo - you have mail. Are you talking about the flame guitar or the peacock maybe? It's 2am and I don't have the DVD to hand. I have a feeling you're talking about the peacock guitar, that's how Joe's described it. And thank f*** someone else know's its Murphys law (unless I totally misinterpreted your last line).

I had no idea about Paul Newman, can't think how I missed that on any news. I admired his acting work and his role with Indycar and his race team. Generous to charity too, a real superstar. RIP Paul

Still no news. It's been missing a couple of days, and they've been searching for it since last night.

It must be the peacock guitar I saw, I just never noticed it before... Mustn't be a dedicated fan.... :)

Wooleyman - I don't expect to see Brad playing bass at any of the remaining PSATMOR shows. He had a scheduling conflict that came to light during rehearsals, so Joe went with Stu...and it makes sense to stick with the same band for the entire tour.

I think anything with Brad, if Joe goes back to him, won't be for a few years at least. I suspect Joe's solo band will kinda disolve for the next year or three while he's busy with Chickenfoot.

Tuesdayschild - I think Robert Plant did a great job at the reunion gig last year. They changed the tuning on a few songs to make it easier for him to sing, but overall I think he was just fine. And if he REALLY couldn't do it, the band could come up with a setlist that's easier on his voice.

It really sucks...I'm a HUGE Led Zeppelin fan and I'd love to have the chance to see them. It's too bad that he doesn't want to be involved, but to be honest I'm almost more excited about Jimmy, John and Jason doing a NEW non-LZ-related project and touring smaller venues.

roo - Argh...that sucks. Hopefully your case and certificate show up.

I've had a bit of bad luck with my mailman lately. I pre-ordered a CD and tshirt from a band a few months ago and the post office's delivery confirmation showed it was supposedly delivered to me when it wasn't (what good does it do to pay extra for confirmation if it doesn't mean anything?). In the end this was no big deal, as I called my credit card company and had them remove the charge, but it still bugs me. I think I may have lost something else I ordered (a Led Zeppelin The Song Remains The Same poster, from on offer in the deluxe edition of that DVD I bought last year). My check for shipping/handling was cashed earlier this year but my poster never came. It sucks that I'm thinking my postman may have swiped it. Ugh...

Joe Satrini - I do the same thing with YouTube (open and pause)...I don't like how you can't pause the video before it starts playing...that means I have to sit and wait for it to load a bit before I can try to pause it. I want something faster. ;-)

Anyway, as far as rare tracks go, the earliest new track that isn't available anywhere else is Turkey Man from Additional Creations. I think international (Asian) versions of some of Joe's earlier albums may have live songs added to the end as bonus tracks, but that's minor...

I don't think Super Colossal had any bonus tracks, but you're missing the two from the SBM-era, Slick and The Eight Steps. TES was released on some international versions of the album, and Slick was later released (along with TES) on Anthology.

Aside from that, I have a few MP3s of recordings exclusive to guitar magazines. One of them is an early version of Time, I think. I'll make another post later on detailing everything, instead of doing it here buried in conversation.

Regarding your post to Hugsamuchilus, the Mission Impossible theme floating around the Internet is most likely John Petrucci of Dream Theater. That clip was finally released on one of DT's official bootlegs a few years back. I haven't heard the Vai-ish Flintstone's theme, though...can you dig up a link for me?

Roo, I hope your guitar case and cert turn up soon! Maybe it already has....(here's hoping)

Joe Satrini (Phil) back/flu is doing better, but I'm still grumpy. (can you tell?)The Muso wants to be friends again, maybe more....I don't know where this will lead. I need ex gf out of the picture. Any hints how to get rid of pesky exes? Maybe I don't want to go down that road anyway. Hope you're feeling better....

Unlucky for him though...wasn't his fault. As for Raikkonnen though...well, I have little sympathy for a world champion who drives into walls. Ferrari need to sort themselves out if you ask me. In Massa they have a real potential butt ache for Lewis should be a very interesting last few races. =D

I have kind of suspectign all along that Robert Plant has been so opposed to doing a world tour with Zep because his chops won't hold up. I agree with Do the Stu, put down your ego and look into a setlist that will not be so challenging on his voice night after night. He could even do songs like black dog at a lower octave and still make it work.

One thing that has bugged me about Robert Plant this past year is every time it gets brought up, he doesn't come right out and say he doesn't want to do it. but he also acts like Simon Cowal each time it's brought up. What's he going to do when the queen of blue grass gets bored and wants to tackle a new project and sends Robert back over the pond? I like what he has done with this project, but it won't last forever. Many of us have been lucky enough to see Plant and Page on tour, but most have never been lucky enough to see Zep. The man should give the fans what they deserve.

Anyway, I'm off my soap box now. It's just been my wish since I was 12 to get an opportunity to see them. I hope it happens. And who knows, the way Robert Plant and Jimmy Page have worked over the years, maybe this is all just a big ploy to keep the fires burning until they get at it. (I hope) :)

I'm among the most that have never been lucky enough to see Zep, sniff
So Floyd and Zep are my helpless impossible dreams
But I prefer not seing Zep if Plant can't almost sing their classic hits. I think I would end up feeling sad for the incomplete exercise of nostalgia.
I'm anxiously expecting what Chickenfoot comes up with, instead.

New music Tuesday is my favorite day of the week...woohoo! I picked up Dream Theater's Chaos In Motion 2 DVD/3 CD set, along with U2's remastered Under A Blood Red Sky on CD and DVD.

I watched the tour documentary part of the DT package...it's everything you'd expect from the band. I haven't had a chance to check out the U2 thing yet, but if the remasters they released earlier this year are any indication I'm sure I'm in for a treat.

Did anyone else here pick up either of these?

On to Robert Plant...another thing that bugs me is that he always wants to talk about moving on and doing new things, but he always plays a few LZ songs during his solo shows. So after what he's said here, he should never ever play another Led Zeppelin song in concert. But I doubt he'll stick to that, and that sucks. I've always wanted to see him in concert, even if it's just a solo thing (I'm actually a pretty big fan of his solo career), but after this comment I don't think I'll bother. It's unfortunate...

Has anyone here heard a bootleg of the Led Zeppelin reunion gig from last year? I have a few audio copies and then a really cool DVD...Plant really did do an excellent job.

wolf2 - What's your favorite song on Is There Love In Space?
hybes - You've seen Page and Plant, right? Was that on the Walking Into Clarksdale tour?

I saw Jimmy Page and the Black Crowes (the show that was recorded for this live album) in 1999. I've never seen John Paul Jones, but I'd love to some day...and it'd be awesome if Jason Bonham was in the mix too.

Regarding internet forums, check out Dream Theater drummer Mike Portnoy's (http://www.mikeportnoy.com/forum/). It's divided into a bunch of different categories, and each individual topic has its own thread. The forum keeps track of which posts you have and haven't read.

It's nice because you can ask more spontaneous yes/no questions and do other short things that are harder to keep track of here. And you can put all the political stuff in its own section so if it's not your thing you don't have to read it (same with musician/gear talk, sports talk, etc.).

But I like how T2J is because, by forcing everyone to read everything, the site never gets too busy and you occasionally get unexpected replies from people that you wouldn't get in a more structured forum.

Blue_Moon - Very cool photos...thanks for sharing them. I like the ITLIS?-esque one at the end. ;-)
